When I was completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame, I went to my father, a local and very prominent ear, nose, and throat surgeon, to ask his advice about going to medical or dental school. He was very concerned about the state of medicine and how insurance companies were dictating treatment. He advised that whichever field I chose, pursue it with a purpose and passion for helping people. Ultimately, I chose dental school and developed a vision of giving our community a dental office which would provide the highest standard of dental care along with top notch customer service.
In 1988, upon the founding of Brilliant Smiles, my vision became a reality. Over the last two and a half decades our team has been committed to guiding our patients to optimal oral health and wellness in a gentle and comforting environment. We treat patients of all ages and provide services that range from routine professional cleanings and simple fillings to the most comprehensive care including dental implants, Invisalign and orthodontics, teeth replacements, cosmetic dentistry, and emergency dental care. Additionally, over the last several years, our focus has incorporated what we call Complete Health Dentistry, a philosophy that has led us to becoming advocates for your overall health and wellness.
Dr. Greg Austria has been serving Greene County area families for nearly he has been in practice over 3 decades and his extensive training allows him to deliver clinical excellence in almost every area of dentistry. He treats patients of all ages including young children who need only preventive maintenance to seniors who require full mouth rehabilitation.In 2006, Dr. Austria received the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. This award is given to only the most educated dentists in the country. In 2008. he graduated from the Kois Center for Dental Excellence in Seattle, Washington, one of the most acclaimed training programs in the world.
Dr. Jenna Shevlin joined Brilliant Smiles in 2012. She is originally from Northeastern Ohio and received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.Dr. Shevlin attended dental school at The Ohio State University and has undergone advanced training at The Miami Valley Hospital General Practice Residency Program where she completed rotations in internal medicine, anesthesia, and trauma care as well as advanced courses in pharmacology and the treatment of medically compromised patients.

I would recommend Brilliant Smiles for cleanings and any dental concerns you may have. The staff is super helpful starting with Saxony and Jonell with my insurance questions and scheduling, the assistants Molly & Mariah were wonderful and Dr. Wyatt listens to his patients to provide the best dental treatment.

I was having some gum pain and, concerned that it might be related to a recent filling, I asked to see the dentist as soon as possible. They got me in the next day and confirmed that it wasn't tooth related, helped me understand what was causing the issue and how to deal with it. Everyone was helpful and thorough, particularly Molly, with whom I found a common ground having both cared for our parents. She gathered all of the necessary information, asked plenty of questions, and was patient and thoughtful. I greatly recommend this practice.

I am a new patient of Brilliant Smiles in Xenia where I saw Dr. Jenna Shevlin about crowning a recent root canal. After leaving a chain dental practice whose care I found lacking in every respect, I found Dr. Shevlin and her team to be an exceptional breath of fresh air. I was also very impressed with the office staff who made sure I had forms ahead of my appointment via email and confirmed that my previous providers had forwarded my records. I can highly recommend Brillian Smiles to anyone searching for a family dental practice.

They have been my dentists since 10 Dec 2010 and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Great treatment today removing plaque and the dentist enjoyed his work which showed and did not give up on difficult spots. Review 25 Oct 2022: for my past 3 visits (including the above review) I have had Verdun and he has done great work on removing plaque and deep planing to help reduce the pockets in my gums. Very pleasant and asks if I'm ok and if he needs to pause.

My family loves this office! We are always more than pleased with the work and staff! Big shoutout to Dr. Austria and Dr. Wyatt! I had a calm and kind experience today getting multiple cavities filled! Mariah and Amy were very understanding of the nervousness I felt and were encouraging the whole way. I felt no pain and they explained everything along the way and answered all my questions with patience and Grace. :)
