Dr. Douglas Nyakundi recently joined Brilliant Smiles in 2020. He is originally from Jersey City and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Dr. Nyakundi received his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree in 2016 from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California. He moved to Ohio to have the opportunity to expand his knowledge of dentistry by working with his mentor. He appreciates working with patients of all ages. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, running and spending time with his family.
Brilliant Smiles was started twenty six years ago with my vision of giving our community a dental office which provided the highest standard of dental care along with top notch customer service. That vision has not changed. But our knowledge of how oral health affects the rest of the body has increased our focus.

A smile is one of the first things people notice about you and Brilliant Smiles is committed to helping you achieve your brightest smile ever! We offer different options for whitening your teeth. These include in-office KoR whitening and take-home teeth whitening with custom trays.
Both options use a whitening gel to penetrate the outer layer of the teeth and whiten the layer directly underneath. Whitening procedures work best with clean and healthy teeth. Ask one of our dentists which option is best for you.
Veneers are very thin shells, often created from porcelain, which fit over your teeth to correct cosmetic dental flaws. Your custom made dental veneers will fit your smile comfortably and look natural and radiant. Veneers may be a great way to get the smile you have always wanted.

I had a great experience from start to finish with my first dental cleaning in over 4 years. Erin at the front desk helped me fill out my paperwork, and she was super lovely. My hygienist, Carmen, was so sweet and helpful during my cleaning, and the dentist Dr Nyakundi was very kind and personable as well.

We love our time at Brilliant Smiles! The whole staff is friendly and welcoming. Carmen and Dr. Nyakundi are wonderful at what they do and great with my kiddo. Angela is also so friendly at the front desk. They make going to the dentist fun!

Came in for my first cleaning since 2020 and Carmen made me feel completely at ease. She made to check with me throughout the cleaning to make sure I was okay. She did a good of explaining what she was doing as she moved through the different phases of the cleaning.
