He completed his residency in Advanced general dentistry from. New York University Langone Dental Medicine.After his residency program, he practiced dentistry at Harvard street health center in Boston, where he treated complex cases and supervised dental students from Harvard university.
In 1978, Dr. Williamson Graduated from VCU as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Shortly after in 1979, he opened his dental practice as Dr. M M Williamson DDS at the Spotsylvania Courthouse. It is now known as Brilliance Dental.
Over the years Dr. Williamson has had the pleasure in participating in a number of mission trips to Brazil, Romania, and Jamaica. Dr. Williamson has been married to his wife, Betty Williamson, since 1993 and together they have two sons, Seth and Luke Williamson.
Our office philosophy incorporates a team approach to best serve our patients. Our general dentists and dental hygienist work together to help the patient achieve their goals. We strive to deliver the highest standard of care and to treat each patient as if they were a member of our family.
Kristie has lived her whole life here in Fredericksburg. She started in dentistry right out of high school in 1997. She has an expansive knowledge of dentistry. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, and twin daughters.
Lisa has been a dental assistant since 1994. She has a vast chairside knowledge of the different aspects of dentistry. Lisa is a proud wife and mom to 3 adult children, and has 3 beautiful grandchildren. She enjoys spending time in the mountains with her family when she is not at work.
Meyvin is a 2019 graduate of the dental assisting program at Spotsylvania career and tech center. Her excitement and energy for dentistry brings a light to the office. Meyvin also speaks fluent Spanish. When she is not at work, she loves taking pictures, going on hikes, and spending time with her family.
Originally from Alexandria, VA, Jessica started as a dental assistant in 1999. Her knowledge of the back office made the transition to the front office smooth. She quickly learned the ins and outs of dental insurances. She understands how the patients specific benefit plan works, which helps our patients understand their benefits and maximize the use of their benefits. She loves spending time at home with her husband, 2 children and dog.

I had 2 teeth extracted last night including a wisdom tooth and everyone was so professional and did their job very well. I made sure to schedule an appointment for a cleaning before I left. I will be choosing this place as my regular dentist going forward.

I'm always nervous going to the dentist. Dr. Matar puts you at ease, really listens and explains things well. Excellent dentist! Over the years I have seen many dentists, and I can honestly say that I have total confidence in Dr. Matar. Highly recommended!

I was beyond anxious as I'm ashamed to say I haven't been to the dentist in years even though I kept up with my oral health at home. I felt better as soon as my lovely hygienist brought me to the back to begin my appointment. I don't have words to express how amazing my first visit was here! They surpassed my expectations based off the reviews I read when I found them. I felt cared for, relaxed, and comfortable for the entire appointment. I left there calling everyone I love to tell them they need to switch dentists! I can't wait to go back in six months for my next cleaning.

They have been very professional and caring. They don't just fix your problem. They look for any other issues and work up a plan to get that fixed as well. I had a tooth pulled and needed to get a bridge put in to get it fixed. He could have just waited the minimum 4 weeks and just got the bridge shoved in there but he noticed that my gums weren't healing properly so we waited the extra four weeks before we did anything. He was going to get paid regardless but he took the time to make sure that what he did was going to look good and feel comfortable for me. I appreciate that he did that even though it's taking longer than expected (still not 100% done yet), I am getting a better result because of his care and attitude towards his patients. I hope my insurance keeps them as a provider for many years to come so I can continue coming back to this office.

Long story short, I have not been to a dentist office in a long time. My former experiences with dental offices have been lukewarm at best. So, I asked a colleague of mine where he goes for his dental checkups, and he recommended the folks at Brilliance Dental. Backtracking a bit, I made an appointment with Brilliance Dental last summer for my first dental checkup in some time and to take care of a painful upper left gum. I was told that my gums were in dire need of periodontal care. So, I was placed in care of Cheryl, one of Brilliance's dental hygienists. Longer story short, Cheryl performed and completed 4 sessions of perio-cleaning. Honestly, I was not looking forward to it, but Cheryl made the experience as painless as possible and clearly explained what she was about to do. This level of professionalism and compassion put me at ease and the 4 sessions went by without a hitch. I completed my regular cleaning and checkup today and it was great to see Cheryl again. The staff at Brilliance is great to include Dr. Matar. I highly recommend to anyone to go to Brilliance for their dental needs and ask for Cheryl as your dental hygienist. Thanks. r/PC

I had the best experience with this whole office. From the professionalism of the front office to the nurses to the Doctor. I have never felt so comfortable at the dentist ever in my life. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Matar and his crew. Sending a huge thank you to them all!
