Located at Vista Gardens Marketplace, our pediatric dental office is convenient for all families living in many communities. Dr. Thrower and her staff are dedicated to making your childs dental visit as enjoyable as possible and we look forward to helping your child have a bright and healthy smile!
A Minneapolis native, Dr. Alisha Reynolds completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology in sunny Atlanta from Emory University in 2011. She ventured to the upper east coast to earn both a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2016 and Certificate in the Specialty of Pediatric Dentistry in 2018 from Howard University. She is a board eligible Maryland licensed pediatric dentist whose been practicing for 4 years.
Away from the office, she loves listening to new and live music, and stays active by exercising and participating in intramural sports. She also enjoys spending plenty of quality time with family and friends.
She is trained to recognize the unique dental needs of infants, children and teens while striving to give all her patients a friendly and comfortable experience. Dr. Thrower feels treatment planning as a Pediatric Dentist is a multifactorial, complex process that requires careful consideration of three distinct areas; the patients caries risk status, the available treatment options and the childs behavior.Feeling anxious about receiving dental care should never prevent any child from having a beautiful, healthy smile.
Dr. Thrower is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Maryland Dental Society. She resides in Bowie, MD with her husband Charles and children Nia, Layla, and Myles. In her free time she enjoys quality time with her friends and family and participating in local community activities.

Dr. Thrower & her entire staff were extremely friendly and made the visit wonderful. Ms. Kathleen was super gentle and attentive to my child. Dr. Thrower made her feel like a pretty princess. I recommend everyone bring their child here for dental care. I always ask my daughter her opinion and she loves the experience and wants to go back.

The patient experience is a priority at Bright Starr. I was so pleased with Ms. Kathleen (hygienist) and how she handled my children. She was patient and kind and explained the importance of brushing while she performed their cleaning. I'm so glad I found this place - I saw a sign outside and took a chance and we love it here. Not to mention the dentist is HBCU homegrown.

My (toddler) son has been a patient at Bright Starr Pediatric Dentistry for 2 years. They have excellent customer service, a clean and fun environment for children, and friendly staff. Today, Kathleen performed my son's dental cleaning. Despite his nervousness around new people, she was able to make him feel comfortable throughout the process and he felt accomplished at the end because he was able to pick a prize due to his good behavior. Going to the dentist for many children isn't fun. However, I appreciate the warm welcome and positive experience they always create when we visit.

Been bringing our daughters here for the past 3 years since we moved out Bowie. The whole staff is amazing. Very chill and comforting but most importantly they're on point with communication. Thank y'all!

The staff is so caring and friendly. My kids feel safe. Also, they love being entertained while getting their teeth cleaned. I do not hear complaints when I say it's time to go to the dentist!!

I was okay with the service when I took my kids the first time. It was time for both my kids 6 month dental cleaning and was disappointed when I received a voice message letting me know that their appointment was cancelled because of their insurance information. After listening to the voice message, I realized I provided the assistant the wrong insurance information. Instead of clarifying things when we got into the office for their appointment the appointment was canceled just like that. I mentioned to one of the assistants who called the day before our appointment that we recently switched insurance and that I'll bring in that information when we got in the office. Anyhow the way the situation was handled was so rude and unprofessional.

I love this office. My 9yo daughter has been coming here every six months since she was 1yo. She's had numerous dental procedures and so was always allowed to be right there with her. My now 4yo daughter has also been coming since she was 1yo and she loves it as well. The office is beautiful and bright which helps the kids to feel more at ease and welcomed.

The staff here are very professional and my child is not afraid to come the dentist. It's clean and spacious for safety. They explain everything in parent language lol. They let the child and the parent know what they are doing step by step. Overall great dental experience
