Dr. Bridgham and Dr. Barr are Board Certified Orthodontic Specialists. While many dental professionals provide orthodontic care, our doctors obtained specialty training and limit their practice to orthodontic care. Therefore, our doctors focus 100% of their energy on staying at the leading-edge of orthodontic treatment and are also recognized as leaders in their field.
Our office has cutting-edge orthodontic diagnostic equipment and techniques. Our i-CAT FLX machine takes 3-D images with less radiation than standard 2-D radiographs. This technology provides more diagnostic information, which can make your treatment more efficient with greater predictability of long term stability. Our patients are not just members of the community. Many of our patients are our friends, family, and staff members. You can be assured that we follow all of the OSHA guidelines for sterilization techniques and will never cut any corners. Our patients health and safety is of utmost importance.
Dr. Rick Bridgham received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the State University at Stony Brook. He continued his education and graduated with honors from the University of Loyola in Chicago with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. After a general practice residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Dr. Bridgham completed three years of orthodontic residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia to become Certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics.
In March 2006, he achieved Diplomate Status from the American Board of Orthodontics. He also holds membership in several international, national, state, and local professional organizations, including the World Federation of Orthodontists, American Dental Association (ADA), American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), New York Society of Orthodontists, Northern Westchester Dental Study Club and the Putnam County Dental Society. In addition, Dr. Bridgham has written orthodontic articles for the American Association Orthodontics Foundation.
A native of Westchester County, New York, Dr. Bridgham resides in Somers with his wife, Debra, and their two sons, Michael and Patrick. Dr. Bridgham is also actively involved in community affairs. He is the past president of the Somers Lions Club and is an active member in the Somers Chamber of Commerce. He also was privileged to serve as the Charter Representative for three Scout Groups in Somers and as an Assistant Cubmaster for the Somers Cub Scouts Pack One.
This office deserves 10 stars in every category. My three children are patients of Dr. Bridgham. We shopped around for an orthodontist for the kids and we could not find anyone more knowledgable than Dr. Bridgham. His office is thoroughly up to date and the staff is the kindest. We never wait and my kids dont mind going to see Dr. Bridgham at all. We live down in the Tarrytown/Irvington area and we tell all our friends looking for the perfect orthodontist that this man is worth the drive.
Dr. Anita Stavin Barr is a board certified orthodontist. She completed her undergraduate education at Vassar College, earning her degree in Neuroscience and Behavior with a minor in Chemistry. She was also inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for her exceptional academic performance. Dr. Barr received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Book University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated top of her class. While in dental school, Dr. Barr received multiple accolades. She was the recipient of the New York State Dental Foundation Deans Award, The School of Dental Medicine Alumni Award of Excellence, and the highest honor of being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After dental school, she received her orthodontic certificate from Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, where she learned the latest techniques and treatment advances for patients of all ages. She had the privilege of being the Chief Resident in her final year of residency. Dr. Barr has trained extensively in several aspects of orthodontics, including interceptive treatment of young children, comprehensive treatment of adolescents and adults, Invisalign, as well as surgical orthodontics. She regularly attends local and national conferences, seminars, and continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest developments in the field. Even more impressive than her outstanding academic achievements is Dr. Barrs extraordinary bedside manner with both children and adults. A very friendly, caring and compassionate person, Dr. Barr is committed to delivering the highest quality of care for her patients. Additionally, Dr. Barr has an artistic eye with keen attention to detail to help enhance aesthetic outcomes of treatment. Dr. Barr lives in Katonah with her husband and two daughters. She loves to give back to the community and is a member of the Somers Lions Club. The most remarkable volunteer project she has been a part of is participating in a month-long dental outreach in rural Kenya, providing dentistry to people without access to care.
When my son had to get braces I was pretty nervous, probably more so than he. We chose Dr. Barr due to local recommendations. It was a bit further to drive, but we heard she was excellent. The information proved true. Dr. Barr was impressive to say the least. She met my son and had him very involved right from the start. She showed us what the treatments would be, what he had to do to get the optimum results, and how I could help. Her humor and understanding of teenagers was so helpful. He actually looked forward to the visits. And now, he loves the compliments he gets on his always present smile. Thank you Dr. Barr. You are a joy and such a valuable part of our community.

Dr. Bridgham and Dr. Barr are capable, caring and communicate clearly so the patient and parent know what the treatment plan is and why. My son had a tooth that was a few places over from where it should have been, and it was corrected flawlessly. The office is well run, and the doctors and assistants are kind and pleasant.

My oldest son had his braces done by Dr Bridgham many years ago at the recommendation of our regular dentist. Then we moved north and took the next son to a different orthodontist, with questionable results. Now we have a third son needing braces and I will happily drive the 45 minutes to Dr Bridgham. The office staff is excellent & efficient & the office itself is so welcoming. I'm most impressed by the technology utilized by this practice. I'm grateful that this doc always takes the time to thoroughly explain the treatment plan. Truly a top notch orthodontic practice!

I can't express how lovely this practice is. The staff, the Orthodontist, the receptionists. They are kind and accommodating and have made my Son's smile picture perfect. Heading back for my middle Son's treatment which is right around the corner. And BBO has a gem that we often don't think about, when seeking Orthodontics, which is Amy. Amy walks everyone through their estimates, navigates our insurance carriers, and gives us options so we have choices. She truly and sincerely cares about the patient and their families at BBO. I wish our govt could run as efficiently and effectively as this practice. Both my daughters needed help from teeth behind teeth and overbite. Both Dr. Bridgham and Dr. Barr are professional and courteous spending as much time with you as needed to insure you understand what's needed and expected. Their staff is top notched and also as friendly and helpful as they are. No wasted time in the waiting room as they run a tight ship. Financing is upfront and honest and will get you the most your insurance covers. Can't say enough good things about them!

Throughout my treatment, the office never failed to impress me. Dr. Bridgham, Dr. Barr, and the team as a whole always made me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands. I began my treatment with a late start and worried about wearing braces during the second half of high school. The doctors worked with me to get the braces off as soon as possible, and they were removed exactly when predicted! I couldn't have asked for a better experience or results.
