Dr. Yvette Chua leads our team of experienced professionals. She strives to improve her technical skills, interpersonal communication, and interaction. Dr. Chua is excited about what she is doing and is motivated to achieve the highest standards of quality and integrity. She believes patient care should be comprehensive, courteous, and responsive to individual needs and preferences.
Our staff is committed to providing you with excellent service that extends beyond your office visit. We will routinely give you information about the office and keep you informed on how to take better personal care of your teeth. We will also contact you to see how you are doing and to remind you of upcoming visits.
Dr. Susana Chua graduated from the University of the East in 1966. She first practiced in the Philippines, then moved to San Francisco and has been practicing here for 16 years. Throughout her career, she has continued to improve her craft by taking several continuing education seminars every year. She is a member of several dental associations, such as the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Francisco Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and others. Besides Dr. Susana Chua's extensive experience and caring nature, she is multi-lingual, able to speak Tagalog, Ilocano, Chinese, and Spanish.
As a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Derrick Chua continually learns about the latest techniques in aesthetic dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the San Francisco Dental Society. He is a graduate of Bowditch Middle School, San Mateo High School, University of California, and the Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Derrick, his wife and baby son live in the San Mateo/Foster City area. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, mountain biking, and reading.

Let me tell you: Dr. Yvette & Derrick Chua & their team are the best of the best. I have been a patient with Bridgepointe Dental for over a decade now. The quality of care is exceptional. From having major dental surgeries such as wisdom removal to getting root canals, I have never had an issue before, during & after the procedures. The entire team is empathetic and caring with excellent bedside manners. My whole family comes here. I refuse to go anywhere else because I am so comfortable coming to Bridgepointe. Thank you!!!

Dr Derrick Chua did a filling on 2 of my front teeth. 4 months later I had to do a root canal for both cuz he hurt the nerves during the filling and they went completely dead. Just telling the plain truth here. Till this day I still can't help thinking what if I had the filling done somewhere else.

So... I've been seeing Doctor Derrick since 2008; he was recommended by a coworker and I've been going ever since. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and the front counter is clean and organized. Even through Covid, they have the plexiglass up, take your temperature, and have a system for clean pens if you have to sign anything. The environment is very calming knowing they are following CDC protocols and guidelines. I've gotten everything done here --Whitening, fillers, Invisalign, you name it. It's been a while since my last visit but there's always something new when I come in. This time the "x-rays" are all digital, meaning there's no fuss with the film that makes you gag when they stick it in your mouth. The x-ray photos were ready to be seen by the time I stood up from the chair. I don't know if getting old, but that's crazy. These were hi definition photos, too. I cant trust just anyone with this smile. Thanks, Doctor Derrick

My dentist of many years retired a couple of years ago and I went out looking for a new dentist. Because I have the dental insurance offered by United Health Care, and after trying a couple of local dentist that seemed to be selling more than fixing I went to the list my insurance recommends and found Dr. Yvette Chua. Her office is about a 5 minute drive from my home so I decided to try her. I found the office modern with what appeared to be the latest equipment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Chua is a joy to be around as well as her assistants. How many people can say that about their dentist. Since then she has done routine work on me as well as some serious bigger issues and it all appears to be very good work. From the minor to the major work she has performed on me, there has been very little discomfort. How many people can also say that about their dentist. I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you to her and her staff, and no I'm not related.

Dr. Yuvette and Derek are both amazing. I've done cleaning and filling with teeth with Dr. Yuvette, and did tooth extraction (for my orthodontic treatment) with Dr Derek. Dr. Yuvette and her staff are professional and they are usually available to fit your busy schedule. They send text message for appointment reminder and also they are very fast to schedule and answer any possible questions you might have. While filling my teeth, I had the option of watching Netflix, which was awesome. They took several xrays of my teeth before filling to make sure they are taking all the cavity out.
