BridgeMill Dentistry has been providing top dental care to individuals and families in the communities of Canton, Woodstock, Kennesaw, Marietta, Ball Ground and other metro-Atlanta suburbs for over a decade. The practice provides patients of all ages with a wide range of important services, including preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dental care.
While the overall commitment to providing the very best dental treatment has remained constant since Dr. Scott Merritt first started treating patients in Canton in 2002, there have been significant changes since that time.
In 2012, the current office was built on Sixes Road across the street from the original location. The facility was specifically designed to comfortably accommodate new and long-time patients, as well as the growing staff and continued addition of state-of-the-art equipment. It also made it possible for Dr. Michael Cox and Dr. Matthew A. Dimassi to join the practice.
In addition to the three dentists, there are 7 hygienists, 5 assistants, and 5 front office staff who call BridgeMill Dentistry their work home. The entire team works hard each day to provide whatever services patients need, including cleanings, digital x-rays, fillings, crowns, root canals, and bonding. In addition, both dentists routinely perform cosmetic procedures, including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening.
Scott Merritt has been providing quality dental care in Georgia for over 21 years. After earning his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, he practiced for an established dental office in Gainesville, GA. He opened BridgeMill Dentistry in 2002 with the singular goal of providing the very best dental care to patients in Cherokee County and the surrounding areas. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
A native of Savannah, GA, Scott graduated from Benedictine Military High School before earning his Bachelors of Science from the University of Georgia. He is also proud to have attained the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to extensive dental practice experience, Michael Cox brings a strong research background to BridgeMill Dentistry. After earning his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia, he worked in research at the prestigious Emory School of Medicine, where he studied pain pathway transition and nerve stimulation. He continued his research at the Medical College of Georgia as an Electron Microscopist, studying bone regeneration surrounding tooth extraction and implant sites.
Michael earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, and subsequently practiced for an established dental office in Canton, GA and cosmetic dentistry practice in Atlanta. He joined BridgeMill Dentistry in 2012, and has quickly earned a reputation for providing high-quality patient care with limited pain and discomfort.
Dr. Matthew A. Dimassi brings a well-rounded background in family and cosmetic dental care to our practice. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the prestigious University of Alabama School of Dentistry, after which he provided treatment to our nations veterans at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He also serves as a volunteer faculty member at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, where he treats patients of limited means and also helps dental students improve their skills through instruction and mentoring.
Matthew spent much of his childhood in Alaska, where he learned early on the value of giving back to the community. He has completed volunteer work at the Georgia Mission of Mercy as well as mission trips to Peru and the Dominican Republic. He has also provided care to low income individuals through Cahaba Valley Health, assisted with Give Kids a Smile 5K run and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Walk, and has volunteered at the Science Olympiad for middle school students. Matthew is a recipient of the Boy Scouts Eagle Scout award, and an active member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry.
