While both Dr. Berthelot and Dr Tinney grew up in the same town, they did not meet until they were classmates at LSU School of Dentistry. Realizing how much they had in common, they quickly became close friends. They also realized they both shared a passion for dentistry and took pride in their work. After many study sessions, practice days in the school clinic, (and hunting and fishing trips!), they began to see they made a great team. However, they didnt know how or when they would be able to incorporate this to dentistry once they graduated.
Following graduation, they both went off to work as associates with great dentists, learning all along the way. But they both knew they wanted something more. That was when they decided to join forces and start their own dental practice where they could continue to build on the team they started years ago. Now, they are excited to provide their patients with the best possible care they can give, in their own unique way. Collaborating to give patients a dental experience they can look forward to having time and time again, Dr. Berthelot and Dr. Tinney are looking forward to giving you their very best at Bridgelake.
Dr. Mark Tinney was born in the small fishing town of Toca, Louisiana, located in St. Bernard parish. He grew up working with his family on shrimp and oyster boats, as he comes from a long line of commercial fisherman. That was where Dr. Tinney first learned the values of hard work and gained an appreciation for work ethic. He attended Brother Martin High School until 2005, when hurricane Katrina relocated his family to the Northshore. Dr Tinney attended and graduated from St. Pauls School in 2008.
After high school, Dr Tinney attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he was a member of the Biology Undergraduate Society, Beta Beta Beta (the department of biologys honor society) and Delta Omega Alpha (The department of Biologys pre professional society). Dr. Tinney also served as a student worker in the microbiology lab and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After graduation and before entering dental school, Dr Tinney worked with the global dental brigades and helped provide dentistry as well as new forms of irrigation systems for the underserved people in the jungles of panama. It was on this trip that he saw firsthand how life changing and gratifying dentistry can be.
Dr Tinney attended Louisiana State University School of dentistry where his passion for dentistry was born. He received the Southwest Academy Award for excellence in restorative dentistry upon his graduation. Dr Tinney continues to expand his knowledge of dentistry alongside Dr. Berthelot by attending continuing education courses on root canal procedures, dental implant placement, maintenance, and socket grafting extraction sites.
Dr. Tinney currently lives in Metairie and is engaged to his fianc Maddie. When he is not working, he is an avid fisherman and hunter. His other hobbies also include spending time with friends, being outside, and traveling with his fianc.
Dr. Berthelot grew up in Chalmette, La and now resides in Mandeville. He graduated from Brother Martin High School and then attended LSU in Baton Rouge earning a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences. He worked as a microbiologist for Domino Sugar Refining before pursuing his career in dentistry. He graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. In 2015, Dr. Berthelot did research on new bonding agents and was selected to present his findings at the prestigious IADR (International Association for Dental Research) in Boston.
Since graduation, he has pursued his learning by attending hands on courses on implant placement, maintenance, and socket grafting extraction sites. Dr. Berthelot is passionate about dentistry and focuses on maintaining a stress-free experience for all of his patients. Dr. Berthelot grew up working in construction, as he comes from a family of contractors. It was in the construction business that Dr. Berthelot not only learned the values of hard work, but also the importance of precision and quality.
Victoria Liberto is the show stopping dental hygienist here at Bridgelake Family Dentistry. She was born and raised in Mandeville, LA where she attended Mandeville High School. After graduating in 2015, she furthered her education at The University of Louisiana at Monroe and received a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. Victoria takes pride in patient care and creating a relaxed environment in the dental chair. She enjoys educating her patients on bettering their oral hygiene and encouraging others to improve their daily health. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys traveling on the weekends and eating brunch with her mom.
