Dr. Soumava Sen and Dr. Yein Kim own and operate all Brident Dental and South Texas Dental offices in Texas. They set the tone, manage the protocols, and monitor the quality of service provided by every one of our dentists in the state.

I had a decent experience with them fall 2021. I scheduled an appointment for April 2022. I had to reschedule, did so for May. Then they canceled. I rescheduled for June, got to the office, waited for over an hour, then was told I couldn't be seen. I made an appointment for November 2022. I made the appointment back in either August or September. Today, November 1, 2022, I got a call saying they weren't in network and wouldn't be until next year. If insurance coverage starts/changes in January --why didn't they call me then to let me know about the change? Why didn't they catch the mistake between January and April? Why did they reschedule for May and then June? Why did they let me wait at the office for over an hour in June? Why did they allow me to schedule this appointment over a month ago, and then call me 3 days before to tell me that? Maybe their doctors are good (again, good experience with the dentist and hygienist), but clearly their office staff is lacking. Is there a lack of competent office staff in the Austin area?

In all my years going to the dentist I've never shown up to the office to be told that the appointment I had made wasn't in the system... except for the three separate occasions this has happened to me at this location in the last six months. It's bewildering. I didn't matter if I had an appointment card in hand or an email from them saying that day's date and time. Nope, sorry, come back later. Three times. In 5 visits. That's 60% of the times I've been in the building. It boggles the mind.

So much inconsistency between the office and billing department. I was charged almost 2 grands at the office when I paid everything off 2 years ago, they insisted on calling the billing department and the billing office proved them wrong. And this wasn't the first time this happened.

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC: This clinic treats their patients more like a dollar sign than a person. I spent a total of 10 minutes (generous) being seen/x-rated and a full hour sitting in the chair listening to the staff discuss their coworkers and other clients at full volume. Didn't even get my teeth cleaned because I was so far over my lunch break by the time they got to me. Update: My health insurance sent me a bill for this check up because Brident Dental did not do the x-rays covered by my insurance, and actually did an extra set that my insurance agent said was "very unusual". When I tried to call their billing office to talk to them about it, no one answered and their voicemail was full. Tried to call the front desk but was transferred to their corporate line who told me I needed to speak with the office. I asked him to have them call me as their voicemail was full and he told me to expect a call in 72 hours.

2nd time trying to come here. First time it was going to be more than an hour and a half wait. What's the point of an appointment then? But they called me and asked to try again. I asked for an appointment as soon as they open. They scheduled me for 8am and somehow the office was already full before they were "open". I've been here 45 minutes now. Told they had NONE of the things I filled out online or when I was here the other day. ALSO. The tech at the front, her son and the father came here, AFTER me, and were brought into the back before all the other people while mom has kid behind the desk. And she has the audacity to be rude!!! I regret coming here. I read all the reviews before coming and still tried.

Our daughter was there for an appointment and the receptionist or independent at the front counter was not able to verify she is covered under our insurance. We called twice and verified over the phone that she was covered. The receptionist said she called the insurance company and they said she was not covered. So someone here is either very incompetent or a lier. We will never use this Dentast nor recommended them. If you can't get the basic customer service why would I trust you with anything beyond that.

Scheduled an appointment at 2pm online. They called asked if I could come in at 12:30pm. I agreed, went in at 12:32pm . As per their website I had the filled the form online. Went in and the person at the counter told me that I will have to fill it in manually because they can't use the online form. The irony is that right next to her is a big sign telling patients to "speed up your process" use the online form. Lol. Anyway, I fill it in and at this point it's around 1pm. I wait till 1:40pm to get seen but no, rescheduled to next week. I don't know about the care but the initial impression is that they don't respect any of their online systems or scheduling.

Dr. Seerpi was amazing!! Even thought the office was crazy busy she made me feel like the only patient She was kind and made me feel relaxed, explained everything she recommended me doing and why it was important. On my second visit she fixed a cavity for the first time in my life I felt noooo pain and completely relax. I've been to at least 20 dentist: in mexico, austin and Houston. I would rate Dr. Seerpi #1
