At Briarwood Dental, we know that how you feel about visiting your dentist is as important as the services we provide. Our friendly, caring team goes above and beyond to ensure that you always feel like a valued and welcome guest in your dental home.

Every time you visit, you will be greeted with the same warmth and enthusiasm as you were the first time we met you. We want you to know how much we value you, not just as a patient, but as an individual with unique needs. Ultimately, we treat our patients the way we would want our loved ones treated.

Along with our entire dental team, Dr. Kevin Clemmons and Dr.s' Derek & Sasha Hayes strive to achieve and maintain excellence in all that they do. We continually invest in continuing education and training to improve our ability, which allows us to offer the highest quality dental treatment at a fair fee. By adding new services and investing in the best and latest technology, we can provide the highest standard of dental care possible.

Dr. Kevin Clemmons is a 1978 graduate of Edmonson County High School. He was a member of the 1976 Kentucky State Basketball Championship team. In 1982 Dr. Clemmons obtained his biology degree from Transylvania University while playing basketball. He then attended the University of Kentucky and received his dental degree from the College of Dentistry in 1986. Dr. Clemmons began his dental career by practicing dentistry in Brownsville, Smiths Grove, and Clarkson, KY. In 2002, he opened Briarwood Dental in Bowling Green, which has become his sole location.

Dr. Clemmons continually educates himself and his team members on the latest techniques to provide his patients with advanced, comfortable, and personalized dental care. He has completed numerous courses, in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, oral conscious sedation and completed a 350-hour mini-residency in implant dentistry from the Medical College of Georgia, in Atlanta.

As a lifelong learner, Dr. Clemmons is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has dedicated his professional career to providing patients with the best that dentistry has to offer.

Dr. Sasha Hayes graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2009 and then went on to graduate from the University of Louisville with a degree in Biology in 2013 and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2017. Prior to joining Briarwood Dental, she was a Dentist in South Carolina.

Dr. Derek Hayes graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2007 where he played football and ran track for the Purples. He went on to attend the University of Louisville graduating with a degree in Biology in 2011 and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where he graduated in 2015. Prior to joining Briarwood Dental, Dr. Hayes was employed in dental practices in the Myrtle Beach area and Louisville.

Dentistry is a perfect fit for Dr. Hayes because it incorporates artistic abilities with the natural function of the teeth to give patients improved appearances while also increasing their quality of life. Dr. Hayes loves to seek out new knowledge and has taken courses in Invisalign, implants, and smile design. He is excited to be back in Bowling Green and to share his passion for healthy smiles with his hometown community.

Dr. George Bare, Jr joins Briarwood Dental with 40 years of experience in dentistry. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his dental degree from the University of Louisville College of Dentistry. He continued his education with a residency at the University of Kentucky in Orofacial Pain & TMD.

With a focus on sleep and breathing problems, Dr. Bare is able to offer his patients lifechanging help that not only improves their quality of life but also their overall health. He also loves the opportunity to help patients with his general dentistry experience that leads to greater self-esteem and self-confidence all due to better oral health and greater smiles.

While not in the office, Dr. Bare enjoys spending time with his wife, Cindy, of 43 years and their 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. He is a licensed private pilot and loves reading, talk radio and Christian music along with golden oldies from the 60's and black and white movies.

Helping her parents with the family business, Just Piddlin' Farm located in nearby Woodburn, Sydney learned the value of developing lifetime relationships with those you do business with and she uses those skills while treating and educating her patients on their oral health.

A native of Edmonson County, Lauren Booth attended Western Kentucky University graduating with her Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene. Prior to joining the team at Briarwood Dental in early 2022, she gained her experience with another dental office in Bowling Green.

A natural 'people-person' with a quick and easy smile, Lauren loves building relationships and trust with her patients and seeing them improve their oral hygiene after educating them on how to best achieve it. Another perk for her is hearing about all the exciting new things in their lives and getting to share in those things.

As a 9-year old, Lauren began taking dance classes and continued until adulthood. On top of loving to dance, she is crazy about her Corgi named Henry and cat Maxi. Her favorite movie is Dirty Dancing (perfect for the dancer in her) and Christmas is her absolute favorite time of the year - especially when spent with her family.

Mylinda Brown joined the team at Briarwood Dental in 2020 and brings 35+ years of experience in business and marketing. A native of Murray, KY and resident of Bowling Green for 25 years, she appreciates the opportunity to help the other staff members excel in their roles and to expand the reach of Briarwood Dental in the community.

Married to her husband, Tim, for 37 years she is the mother of 2 adult sons with 4 grandchildren. Her time out of the office is spent with long playdates, sleepovers, and 'Mammy Camp.' She is an avid reader and also has a passion for leading younger women through Bible studies and mentoring programs.

Hannah Ruth began working at Briarwood Dental in 2014. She graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Services. Also, to be better prepared for her career in the dental field, she completed the extra undergraduate courses required for entry into dental school and obtained her Dental Assisting Certification with Assist to Succeed of Southern Kentucky in 2016.

As Dr. Clemmons' youngest daughter, Hannah Ruth has spent her entire life around dentistry. Working alongside her Dad, she has seen the value of prioritizing and practicing great patient care. Watching Dr. Clemmons treat each patient like family and ensuring they receive the best possible in dental treatment has shown her what a great dental office should always strive to be in the community.

Hannah Ruth grew up in Chalybeate, KY and graduated from Edmonson County High School in 2013. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and a close-knit family, including 2 young nieces and a nephew. She loves ALL foods, Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday, and has 2 fur babies that keep her busy, Odin and Dude.

Raven likes to be continually learning the newest and best in dental treatments and then being able to share those things with her patients. She feels that the patients she is privileged to meet each day are as special and important as her own family and deserve the greatest care possible.

Jane has 18 years of experience working in the dental field and came to Briarwood Dental in 2008. Of all that she does in keeping the office running smoothly, Jane enjoys working with our patients the most. She loves being able to help them understand their treatment needs and overcoming their fear of visiting the dentist. Most of all, she loves seeing their smile makeovers!

She feels very blessed to be part of such an amazing dental office, where the goal is to treat every patient like we would our own family and make them feel comfortable and cared for during their dental experience. As someone from a big family, Jane knows what family is truly all about! She is the baby of 7 children and along with her husband James, she has 4 kids and 7 grandkids.

Taylor is a graduate of Butler County High School and then went on to attend Western Kentucky University. After WKU, Taylor then continued her education at Assist To Succeed of Southern Kentucky. She came to Briarwood Dental in 2019.

The thing Taylor enjoys most about her job is seeing patients overcome their fears of a dental office visit. When someone first arrives nervous and unsure and then leaves excited to come back again, she knows she has been a part of something special and life-changing for that patient.

In the fall you can find her at LT Smith Stadium supporting the Hilltoppers, at the lake on a pretty weekend, or hanging out with friends. She can eat pizza all day long, loves country music, and running. In early 2020, she completed her 2nd half-marathon at Disney World.

Blair is a Warren County native who graduated from Warren East High School and then continued on with her higher education at Western Kentucky University and Assist To Succeed Dental Assisting School. She previously worked as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant in Leitchfield before joining the team at Briarwood Dental.

Being able to help her patients with their quality of life, by restoring and transforming their smiles, is just one of the things Blair enjoys about working in our office. She loves getting to meet new people and to create a bond with them.

Holly is a Warren County native who graduated from Warren East High School before going on to further her education at Assist To Succeed Southern Kentucky. She has been an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) for 3 years and joined the Briarwood Dental team in 2019.

Making patients feel happy about themselves and their smile by providing great dental care is one of the many things Holly enjoys about working in our office. On top of patients that truly become like a family, she also gets to work alongside her Mom (Jane) each day which is one more thing she loves about her job at Briarwood Dental.

Holly recently married her high-school sweetheart (Zach) and they have 2 dogs - Jake and Trigger - that keep them active and busy. She loves country music, nachos, the 4th of July and has been known to pull a prank or 2 among her friends and family.

Carol has 26 years of experience in dentistry. She has worked in all areas from the front office, to dental assistant, to office manager, to an instructor of dental assisting. Carol's further education and training include a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA).

Helping people to smile again is what Carol loves most about her work at Briarwood Dental. Whether that means helping them with a cosmetic change or a procedure to reduce any oral pain, taking care of the patients she meets is top priority and the most fulfilling thing for her.

Originally from Barren County, Alyssa began her dental hygiene career at Briarwood Dental in 2011 after she graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.

Alyssa loves talking to patients and making them feel comfortable in the dental office. Her top priority is to make patients feel like family. She loves to educate each patient so they can be informed while having the best oral health possible!

Alyssa married her husband Zach in 2012 and has two sweet dogs - McKenzie & Bella. She likes to spend her spare time crafting, baking, watching a variety of sports and doing life with family and friends. WKU Hilltoppers, the Cincinnati Reds, Dallas Cowboys, Christmas, pizza, and 90's alternative music are just some of her favorite things!

Dimmaun Thang is a native of Tedim (Chin State, Myanmar) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing B.N.Sc. before moving to the United States. Prior to moving to Kentucky she worked as a Medical Interpreter for Catholic Charities and was employed at dentistry offices in Texas. She joined the team at Briarwood Dental in 2020 where she continues to use her professional skills and love for people to provide exceptional care for her patients.

Dimmaun is married with 3 sons. She and her entire family serve actively in their local church, Zomi Evangelical Baptist Church of Bowling Green, and she loves to cook the traditional foods from Myanmar for her family and friends. Her favorite season of the year is Christmas and she loves to hear (and sing) Gospel music.

Makenzie believes being able to put her patients at ease while treating them with the best dental care possible is her main priority. Getting to know her patients, explaining clearly what their needs are and how Briarwood can help is just one of the many things she enjoys about her daily duties.

She comes from a family that loves the farm life and outdoors. She has 13 horses and several dogs. When not working at Briarwood, Mackenzie and her husband are active in the showing and breeding of Quarter Horses as well as being active in their church. Christmas is her favorite time of the year and you can always hear her humming along to the latest in country music.

Shakota graduated from South Warren High School and first began her dental career with an Associates Degree in Science to obtain her Dental Assistant Certification. She then continued her studies at Western Kentucky University to complete her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has honed her hygienist skills by treating patients at the WKU Hygiene Clinic, Covington Dental and an externship at Briarwood Dental as a Dental Assistant prior to becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist.

With her bright smile and professionalism, Shakota helps her patients feel comfortable while in the dental chair and informed about each of their dental procedures. Spending time with each patient and seeing them excited when they see the results of their great dental care is one of the things she likes most about being on the team at Briarwood Dental.

Shakota and her husband Josh were married in October 2021 and enjoy spending time outdoors together hiking, camping, and chasing after their miniature Australian shepherd named Mayzie. She is active in her church, loves spicy Mexican food and everything about the Christmas season.

I've been going to briarwood dental for years they are great. I will not hesitate to refer someone to them. They make sure their patients are taken care of and I have never had to wait a long time in the lobby. Dr Clemons went out of his way one day to make sure an issue I had was fixed. Thanks Briarwood Dental I appreciate you all.

Dr. Kevin Clemmons and staff are the very best. I've been a patient since 1993. Even after moving from Kentucky I still come back for all my dental needs. If you are in need of a very caring and gentle dentist I highly recommend Briarwood Dental.

I've hated dentists my whole life, this was the first positive experience I've ever had. The staff was phenomenal, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They do everything possible to help not only your problem with your teeth but the experience. I cannot say enough good things about these people. I'll never see a different dentist again, if you're considering going you will not regret it.

I just had another great experience for my routine dental exams. Sydney has been doing my cleanings the last two times, she is one of the best I have ever had. Of course nobody takes care of us like Dr. Clemmons, we have been going to him for 14 years. If we ever leave Bowling Green, I believe we would be coming back for our dental procedures.

My initial cleaning and evaluation went well. Setting up a treatment plan was fine, too. Great job on that. My first visit was fine, too. I had a root canal and a temporary crown put on. My second visit, where the temporary crown was removed and the permanent one was put on was okay -- although the tech removing the temporary crown struggled for a long time to remove it, and eventually had to drill/cut it out. I began to wonder if you folks knew what you were doing but gave you the benefit of the doubt. Toward the end of one of these crown-related visits (I can't remember which), the tech told me -- as she was taking my card -- that the cost might end up being "a little bit more" if the insurance rejects anything. She said something else about "silver fillings, which we don't do." That is what I was told. "A little bit more" and "fillings" that "we don't do." No further details were given, and I was not in a position to ask a million questions after having my face drilled for an hour and while being numb up to my eyelid. (Not an exaggeration.) This is NOT the time for half-hearted disclosures. Not knowing I had another bill coming a month later, I gave Briarwood Dental the benefit of the doubt and scheduled another appointment for two fillings on the same side. They were done a couple weeks later, and the tech (a different one from the first two visits) took a *long* time on one of them. Nothing was said about insurance, cosmetic vs. non-cosmetic, or anything of the sort. Payment was taken and I was on my way. I suffered pain in the area she worked on for two weeks and scheduled another appointment. When I got there, I find that, per Dr. Derek, part of the filling "didn't take," so it had to be re-done. You guys also spent a lot of time also adjusting my bite (on the crown as well as the new filling). No payment was taken. All of this suggests to me that the bite and the filling were not properly completed the first time. In the month since this follow-up, I have had gradually-reducing pain in that side of my mouth. Since it's been gradually reducing, I have been hoping it would go away and I wouldn't have to let you people back into my mouth anymore. That's where we were at when your office called a week ago to try to squeeze more money from me. "I know your next cleaning is 5 months away, but do you want to set up another appointment?" I said no. "Well, you still need another root canal, so if that starts bothering you, let us know." The pain from your last work had not subsided before your office was attempting to get even more from me. That's not okay. And then, today, I receive a bill from you. I call to ask why. I'm told that the insurance didn't cover the full cost of my porcelain crown b/c it was considered cosmetic. I objected and asked for the amount to be waived because you all didn't offer silver crowns. I was told that you do offer them, apparently. I was also told that "unfortunately" I had signed "a waiver" and that I had to pay whatever the insurance didn't pay. When pressed, the lady answering also revealed that the charges *could* have been pre-authorized, but weren't, which would have kept this sort of surprise from happening.. You all had plenty of time before the root canal. At least two weeks. And if that wasn't long enough, I would have waited, or simply opted for a silver crown, had I been properly informed. I was also told that the quote I was given was just an "estimate." (Your estimate had an awfully big margin for error.) Only go to Briarwood Dental after answering these questions: Do you think it is ethical to disclose details like these ONLY after treatment has been issued and payment has been taken? While the patient is tired and numb from an hour of treatment? Do you not think a patient should be given the option of a "non cosmetic" crown before it's permanently attached to their face? Do you think it is ethical to avoid pre-authorizing things with insurance companies or even give your patients the option to pre-authorize, when you *know* that things like this happen?
