Dr. Brian S. Margolis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has practiced dentistry since 1988 and specialized in periodontics since 1991. He received his dental degree with honors and his periodontal degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation he was inducted into the elite dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and received distinctive awards in periodontics and geriatric dentistry. Part of his training included a general practice residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. There he was exposed to all phases of dentistry, including traumatic injuries of the face and jaw.
Leonid (Lenny) Gefon, D.D.S. Is a Periodontist who joined Periodontal Associates of Long Island in the summer of 2021. He earned his Bachelors degree in psychology and biochemistry from Hunter College-City University of New York in 2006. He then attended Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2010. Dr Gefon remained at Stony Brook and graduated in 2013 with his specialty certificate in Periodontics, which included additional training in dental implant surgery. In his free time Dr Gefon enjoys traveling and participating in outdoor activities.

Because of his forensic dentistry expertise, Dr. Margolis lectures extensively on the topic. He has supervised the activities of disaster response teams and been involved in numerous forensic identification cases.

I have been a patient of Dr Margolis for 2 years. He and his staff are caring, professional and totally focused on providing optimal care. Last year I had a complicated sinus lift implant. Before his retirement, Dr Mender did this procedure. Before, during and after the implant, Dr Mender, Dr Margolis and the staff explained everything. Afterwards, Dr Mender called to check in on me and my recovery. From the thorough review of my medical history and medications to the friendly, compassionate care I've received, Dr Margolis and his staff provide excellent periodontal care. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Margolis is a caring, professional and talented Dentist. I have used him for my Dental Implants. He did an amazing job. His staff is friendly, efficient and caring. I am always taken on time and have been closely watched with follow ups calls and visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Margolis and this office.

Finally, relief! I only wish I had met Dr. Margolis 18 months earlier but so incredibly grateful I finally became his patient. He was the 7th periodontist I had met and the only one who listened patiently to my story, carefully examined my implant, and gave me a home care regimen that would keep my unfortunate situation manageable. I cannot recommend this periodontist more enthusiastically. His care, concern, and expertise are beyond compare. The office staff are all incredibly kind and helpful as well. Pina and Tina, in particular, have gone out of their way to help me and I could not be more grateful! If I could give this practice 10 stars, I would!

I went to Dr. Margolis with a long history of tooth grinding and clenching causing me to break several crowns on posts at the gumline. As a result, these teeth needed to be extracted (my two front and one adjacent). Dr. Margolis carefully walked me thru all treatment options explaining the potential issues and outcomes of each and answering all of my questions. The end result was a strategy that would ensure the strongest implants and long-term success. Dr. Margolis performed all services from the extractions through the final implants, including a ridge split/bone expansion (yes, that is as pleasant as it sounds). He had a great bedside manner coaching me thru each step with caring and calm reassurance. It was a difficult and lengthy process of procedure and healing but the end results were worth it. I have a beautiful restoration on (most importantly) a strong foundation that I have confidence in. I would, without hesitation, recommend Dr. Margolis. He is an absolute professional who very clearly strives to provide the best care for his patients. Thank you, Dr. Margolis and your staff!

I would highly recommend Doctor Margolis and his team ,The Periodontal Associates of Long Island. I have been going to the office for over 10 years. My experience has always been great. Doctor Margolis is a very gentle, kind man who listens to your every word. He takes time with you and explains everything. I recently had to have a tooth extracted and was very nervous. He calmed me and did a unbelievable job. I have no pain and felt great leaving the office. Also the cleanings are the best, I have never had a cleaning as good as there's. Thank you Doctor Margolis for your expertise.

This week's periodontal procedure was as pleasurable as all of my previous cleanings. As usual Jeannie my favorite hygienist was excellent and made me feel so comfortable, that I almost fell asleep while in the chair Dr Margolis's office is the classic example of how a health professional's office should be during regular times, or even during a pandemic It would not be possible to feel any safer than I felt during my last appointment

I was impressed, by the care and concern dr. Margolis exhibits, he mentored me about better oral hygene, as I have always taken good care of my teeth, or thought so anyway. But I was able to stay clear of surgery, and expensive dental work, by simply following his tutelage...Great results...would recommend to my friends...

I have been a patient of Dr. Margolis for over 20 years. I returned today for my regular prophylaxis and was pleased to find a broad range of protective measures in place: sophisticated air filtration systems, immaculately cleaned and repainted treatment rooms and a highly professional staff maintaining great discipline while remaining as friendly and courteous as ever. As always, my experience was delightful and provided me with confidence that Dr. Margolis and his team are doing everything possible to make patients comfortable and safe during these challenging times.

I brought my wife to see Dr. Margolis for major work on her teeth. Since day one it's been an excellent experience with him and his office. I was amazed by the expertise of periodontal and Implantology work he performed on my wife.
