It 's no surprise that Brian Feeney loves to travel. Born in Bologna, Italy, he has since journeyed to many points around the globe. 'I appreciate the melting pot of life,' he says. 'I particularly enjoy serving people of all backgrounds.'
'I 've found that trust is the key to successful patient relationships,' Dr. Feeney says. 'I try to do as much as possible to create an environment where patients can feel comfortable. I encourage them to take an active role in their treatment planning.'
In 2001, Dr. Feeney received his post-Doctoral training in periodontics and implantology at the University of Maryland, College of Dental Surgery in Baltimore. There he met Dr. Passero, who at the time was on the schools volunteer faculty. 'We realized we had instant synergy.' Dr. Feeney says. 'I knew we 'd be a great fit, and we truly enjoy practicing together.' Over the past decade the partnership has continued to strive with the focus being on exceptional patient care and comfort. 'We are constantly evaluating new technologies that promise to improve our patients health; however, we will not incorporate these treatments into our practice until we have seen quality, evidenced based research proving the material or procedures validity.'
In his post-Doctoral program, Dr. Feeney was involved with clinical based research in implantology and platelet rich plasma, human growth factors that can improve patients ' healing response. 'It 's such an exciting time to be in this field,' he says. 'Rapidly advancing technologies are enabling us to serve our patients at unprecedented levels of excellence. I enjoy staying in step with current developments and sharing new knowledge with my patients.'
While in school full time in Baltimore, Dr. Feeney also practiced part-time as a general dentist in Annapolis. In 1998 he received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine where he also completed an elective 18-month internship in anesthesiology and his B.A. degree from the University of Rochester. Through the course of his academic career, he garnered numerous awards and scholarships of scholastic excellence.
Dr. Feeney often lectures to local and national societies. Dr. Feeney is a current member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Academy of Osteointegration, Fairfax County Dental Society, Northern Virginia Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Northern Virginia Implant Study Club, and the Omikron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society.
Dr. Feeney and his wife live in the Chesterbrook area of McLean. They enjoy spending time on the Delaware shore, traveling, golfing, snowboarding, hiking, cheering on the Washington Capitals, the New York Yankees and spending time with their two daughters and two Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

I've been a patient of Dr Feeney's for many years now. I absolutely love the care and treatment I receive from the entire staff. I have periodontal issues and several implants as a result. Dr Feeney is an expert surgeon in addition to periodontist. 9/15/2020 update: Had a great routine visit this morning with Dr. Feeney and Diane, the new hygienist. I felt very comfortable with the office's Covid protocols and the personal care I was given. Fast forward 6 months and I just had another great routine visit. I always feel my care is their #1priority! 9/16/2021 update: I continue to see Dr Feeney every 6 months to ensure my dental health is maintained. I highly recommend the practice, especially if you are looking for the best care available! 3/29/2022 update: had another great routine exam. Under the care of Dr Feeney, I'm winning the battle against periodontal disease! 10/18/2022 update: hurray! I had a really great periodontal cleaning and checkup. I've been trying to save a tooth and the treatment I've been receiving from Dr. Feeney over the past couple of years is winning the battle! Thank you Diane and Dr. Feeney!

Split a tooth and needed an extraction. Dr. Feeney did a great job. Process was fast with no pain. First, he checked to see if the tooth could be saved, and unfortunately, it couldn't. Then gently extracted it, and packed it with bone graft for healing and a base for an implant in a couple months. A day later, no bleeding, no swelling, no more pain than a dull ache, which is alleviated by the ibuprofen he gave me. Have to give a shout out to his assistant Christina. She was wonderful! Talked with me by phone the day before, answering questions and making me feel comfortable with the whole process. Explained everything again day of, and during the procedure kept me updated ("You'll feel some pressure now, don't worry...") At the end, provided an excellent "goodie bag" along with the post-op instructions, which she went over with me, adding detail not explicitly written out. Even included a squeeze packet of apple sauce! Dr. Feeney is the only dentist of his type that my regular dentist refers out to. I understand why.

Dr. Feeney and his staff (Tina, Christie, and T out front) are all very pleasant and efficient and do great work. I had a gum graft across three upper teeth last week and it went very well. I also had one with them in 2018 on the other side and it was very successful. Highly recommend!

When you have to go to a Periodontist, no matter how you approach it, having confidence in the doctor makes everything much, much easier. Not everyone could be a good Periodontist! That's a fact! So when you have one when you need one, one as good as Dr. Feeney, it makes doing the work that you have to do much easier. My experiences with Dr. Feeney and his excellently coordinated team, from reception thru each examination or procedure, has been very satisfactory.

I had a tooth extracted which was replaced with an implant. Very anxious about the procedures but Dr. Feeney and his staff are outstanding professionals. They kept me informed while diligently working and asking how I was feeling before, during, and after the procedures. My implant was done today. My apologies for missing names and titles but the front desk/office manager was very courteous and patient, Tina was very considerate and informative, and Dr. Feeney was thorough, considerate, and skilled. This is an exceptional practice. The staff is all quite professional, capable and friendly. I had gum surgery there with Dr. Feeney, plus follow-ups every three months since. The care I have received is outstanding. I would highly recommend them.
