At Brian Davey DDS, we place an emphasis oncomplete health dentistry, which is integrative dental medicine, reuniting the mouth and the body. Dr. Brian Davey comes from a family of dentistry. His uncle, who was also his mentor, was a pediatric dentist. He recognized early on that Dr. Davey had the skill, both technical and interpersonal, to become a good dentist.
Dr. Davey has been designated as a Fellow for the Academy of Oral Systemic Health. He was also recognized as a Top 10 General Dentist in San Diegos Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll (2019). Previously, he was awarded the 2014 Doctor of the Year for Next Level Practice Complete Health Dentistry, also earning a leadership award.
Today, Dr. Daveys mission is to enhance peoples lives through health, wellness, and fun. He believes the mouth is connected to the body, the body is connected to the family, and the family is connected to the health of a community. With that knowledge, his mission is bringing together the medical and dental community to collaborate for the greater good of San Diego and his patients.
In addition, he is the founder and creator of the San Diego Academy of Systemic Health (SDASH). In 2018, he won an award as a leader of complete health for creating SDASH and for working toward his 2020 goal of making San Diego Americas healthiest city.
A Southern California native, Dr. Dovey completed his undergraduate work at UC Santa Barbara and dental school at WesternU College of Dental Medicine in Pomona. He graduated near the top of his class and has been inducted into the prestigious national dental honor society, OKU. His philosophy of dental care involves providing friendly, high quality patient care, in a comfortable setting while educating the patients on the importance of complete whole body health and wellness.
He met his wife, Emily while in Santa Barbara and moved to San Diego several years ago to be closer to her family. They have two young daughters and he enjoys spending quality time with family, camping, snowboarding, and enjoying all of the outdoor activities San Diego has to offer.
Dr. Henninger graduated with a B.S. in biology and chemistry from the University of South Carolina in 2001 and received his D.M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2006. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital that focused on oral surgery, dental implants, and dental sedation.
After his residency, Dr. Henninger served as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy for 4 years. During that time he served aboard Camp Pendleton, on the USS Boxer, and at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Henninger currently practices full scope general dentistry with an emphasis on dental implant reconstruction and dental sleep medicine. He is also one of 10 restorative dentists in the country IVsedation credentials and is a California Dental Board on-site examiner for this services. He maintains hospital staff privileges at Scripps Memorials Hospital Encinitas.
Dr. Henninger is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has been certified as a Master of the College of Sedation in Dentistry by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and as a Qualified Dentist by the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society.
