After attending Michigan State Universitys Lyman Briggs program, Dr. Carlin was received early into the University Of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. There, Dr. Carlin earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree and a Preceptorship in Forensic Odontology.
While attending the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, Dr. Carlin earned his licensure and certification in the National Board Dental Examinations and the North East Regional Boards. Outside of academics, Dr. Carlin participated in the MMBA racing series, Tailwind Enterprise Point series/Paul Bunyan Mountain Bike Series, and the Southern Michigan Adventure Club Racing Series.
Dr. Carlin is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Central District Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Carlin is also studying to become a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Carlin is also an Invisalign certified provider.
A preventative approach to dentistry allows Dr. Carlin to combine and promote general dental welfare with current concepts in dental medicine. He believes in tailoring dental treatment to each individuals needs and values which often results in multiple treatment options for patients. This allows his patients to actively participate in the decisions regarding their dental healthcare. Dr. Carlin regularly attends dental educational seminars to incorporate the best available knowledge into his practice along with recommendations to local specialists.
Outside of the office, Dr. Carlin enjoys spending time with his wife Maria, his sons Joshua, Jonah, Jeremiah and Jacob and his daughter Juliana. They are very active in their church and in their community. Dr. Carlins pastimes and hobbies include backpacking, mountain biking, running, watching thought-provoking movies, enjoying fish aquariums, and reading.

This is an amazing office but cokes in more at a 4.98 for me. Here is why. Dr. Carlin has been taking care of us for at least 16years, we love him. We love it even more now that he has moved offices and got a parking upgrade. A few years later and I still live that!! Office is always clean, welcoming and all the staff is just so friendly. Lindsey has been our hygienist from the very beginning and is just amazing. There is literally no complaint there either. That all being said my problem really becomes how extremely busy thus office seems to be. It is dang near impossible to slide in for something that hasn't been on the books. When I inquired about a cleaning after braces removal it was like a 5-6 month wait. It's just a bummer. I'm so glad we have an amazing dentist and his staff is equally amazing. And who would wish for him to be less busy but having spots available for needed things but not emergencies would be nice. Luckily I have never needed him for a super emergency so I don't really know how that works.

My adult son has disabilities and we have tried other Dentists in the Greater Lansing area. Corri, his hygienist is definitely a 5 out of 5 stars. I refer my friends who have children with disabilities to Dr. Carlin's office. Everyone in the practice is awesome!!

I am always so impressed with Dr. Carlin and his staff. He's treated both my elderly mom who have limited mobility and was in a wheelchair and my brother without insurance who came in from Cleveland, Ohio. Several staff members remember my interests and family members and always ask about them. His expertise and chair side manners are above par. I would highly recommend him.
