Dr. Bret is a Spokane Valley native and attended Central Valley High School. Upon graduation, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Western Washington University and continued on to the University of Michigan where he earned both his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) and Master of Science in Orthodontics (MS).
Dr. Bret has been practicing orthodontics in the Spokane Valley since 2009. He and his wife, Dr. Erin Johnson, have two daughters, Charlotte & Lyla Jo, and two playful dogs. A committed family man, Dr. Bret enjoys the beauty the Northwest has to offer and is passionate about the outdoors.
Dr. Johnson is committed to advancing his level of expertise in Orthodontics. He regularly attends continuing education courses, and hosts continuing education seminars for restorative dentists in his office on the subjects of treatment timing, restorative materials and interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment. We had an awesome experience with Brett Johnson Orthodontics! The staff was great, friendly and caring. Dr Brett was wonderful. My Grandson was only 7 when he started his treatment and he was always treated with great care. We would defiantly recommend them!

When I first started going to this office I was asked on my first appointment to complete a 5 Star Google review and for doing so I received an incentive. From the beginning I knew that was why the office had so many 5 star reviews, so I committed myself to writing a follow-up review after doing treatment since majority of these 5 star reviews are from initial treatment appointments with perks being given for writing those reviews. The cons: Now that I am done, I'd like to say that if I could do this again I'd go to another office that's probably smaller and not serving as many patients. It felt very "factory-like" here, not personal and overall the appointments felt very difficult to schedule without going 4-6 weeks in advance, and whenever I'd go in the process felt very rushed- get in, put in a loud area with all the other patients, and get seen by the orthodonist for 5 seconds before he was zooming off to the next patient. But mostly I feel like after paying about 4k with Invisalign my teeth still aren't great. I can tell my top and bottom front teeth still aren't straight and I'm a little disappointed that I was discharged as a patient when my Invisalign trays showed perfectly straight teeth in the front, yet my Retainer shows how crooked they still are. I didn't realize how crooked my teeth still were until I got my retainer and could visualize the difference as to what they were supposed to look like and didnt result that way despite following the plan without fault. I feel like this is something that should have been noticed in office and now I feel like I need to start this process again at some point in life. I will definitely be going somewhere else though because of the reasons I mentioned above. The Pros: The payment plan. Interest free and affordable. During covid I fell behind on the payments and they were mostly patient while I caught back up without charging late fees.

Bret Johnson and his entire staff are amazing! When I went in for my free consultation they explained every detail from treatment down to pricing very clearly so there were no surprises when I decided to go ahead with treatment. Cheyenne was awesome! She explained every step as she went along which was really helpful. I would definitely recommend Bret Johnson and his staff to everyone!!

Super friendly, welcoming and informative about the payment process. Having a house full of teenagers is overwhelming when considering braces. But Dr. Bret and his team have made us realize it's definitely not impossible. Go check them out!

VERY hard to get appointments. We were 15 minutes late to our appointment because we got caught in traffic. (We live 40 minutes from the office). Once we arrived we were told we would not be seen for a while and that the wait could possibly be up to an hour. We were given the option to reschedule so we chose to do that however the only option that worked was not for another month. We asked if we could just stay and wait at that point and were then told the wait would be even longer because we were no longer "checked in". Funny thing was no one had walked in or "checked in" while we were standing there, yet the wait would be even longer. Kind of feel like it's an operation where they overbook and overpromise and under deliver.

This was our first visit to this office. My son has autism. Kim and Dr. Johnson were very patient and kind. They spoke directly to my son, explained what they were doing and were very gentle. Great experience.

We are so glad we pick Dr. Bret Johnson. Appointments are quick which is important for my busy family and schedule. We shopped around since we are paying the full cost out-of-pocket and we could not find a better price, which is important because in December we will have 2 with braces. We have already recommended to many people with one family friend who is now a client!

I like this place because it's new and staff over there are friendly and kind. Also they really patient with their news patient and they really helpful. My son Rele he is one of you guys new patient and I've seeing every staffs are doing their job with their patient. You guys are doing your best not to lose your patient. You guys are Rock to my son eventhought he haven't put any braces and like a mother to the kids you guys are one of them. You guys are patient with your patients like a mother patient with her kids.
