Following dental school, I was commissioned as a Captain in the U.S.Air Force. I had the honor of practicing dentistry at Osan Air Base in South Korea, McChord Air Force Base in Washington, the United States Military Academy at West Point, and Fort Still in Oklahoma.
I am committed to delivering the highest level ofdental care to each of my patients. That requires me to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field through continuing education courses. Ive studied Oxygen/Ozone Therapy, BiocompatibleDentistry, Integrative Oral SystemicDentistry, Restorative Implantdentistry, Full-mouth Reconstruction, Facial Esthetics, Invisalign,and most recently graduated froman Integrative Biologic Dental Medicineresidency. Indeed, I am passionate about learning and growing,so that I can best help you attain whole-body systemic and oral health.
I grew up in Tyler, TX and fell in love with New Hampshire when I moved here in 2007. I live in Brentwood with my husbandSteveand two sons, Micah and Griffin. Our family also includes our twodogs (introduced below).
When Im not in the office, Im usually found with my family. I love the adventure of watching my kids grow (too fast!). I also enjoy cooking clean and balanced meals, working out, practicing yoga, and walking our dogs. Ive been known to attempt to play golf, too. Personally, Im passionate about my family, my faith, and living a balanced, healthy life.
Aggy and Star (when requested) will be at the office to makeyour dental visit more enjoyable. They are Twoodleswhich is the offspring of a Golden Doodle and a Schnoodle! They are kind, gentle, and most importantly they donot shed and typically do not bother those with allergies! Aggy is working on becominga certified therapy dog, but for now shes really happy to meet you, make you smile, and to hopefully trick you into giving her some love! Star is still a puppy give her time;-)

Jo-Ann is one of the first smiling faces you will see when you visit BDD. She has worn many different hats in the dental profession over the past thirty years. Her experience, bright smile and wonderful sense of humor are the reason shes the go-to person at BDD! As a result, the team, as well as the patients, share a sense of family here at the practice. Whether it be assisting with financial arrangements or treatment plans, she is here to help everyone reach their ultimate goals.
Jo-Ann and her husband Tim have two beautiful children, Madison and Jack, both of whom now attend college at Virginia Tech. Now, empty nesters, they are finding time to travel with friends and family, and fitting in an occasional visit to the college campus!
Michele graduated from the New Hampshire Technical Institute with an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2009. She loves being a part of the Brentwood Dental Designs Team. Imagine feeling as if youve just visited a spa Micheles goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment for a truly relaxing hygiene visit. Her broad experience in the dental hygiene field allows her to cater to your particular needs. Along with performing comprehensive dental hygiene therapy, Michele supports, guides, and monitors her patients as they embark on their journey of attaining a healthy, beautiful smile!
Rachaels life is shared with her husband John and their two daughters, Madeleine and Reagan. They have lived in the Seacoast area for over 20 years and love the outdoors. Rachael can be found in her free time at Jenness Beach in Rye with Rosie, her Bernese Mountain Dog (autumn and winter walks are their favorite). Rachael also enjoys hosting parties and cooking/entertaining for friends and family gatherings as well. As a New England native, Rachael looks forward to the magic that each season brings.
Lauren has worked with Dr. Johnson for years, even before Brentwood Dental Designs opened. She is eager to help our patientsunderstand all that is involved in their dental health and loves to provide education on the treatments we offer. Lauren is particularly interested in the Wellness aspectof our quality care. She is excited to learn and evolve along with the ever changing world of health care and is happy to tackle new techniques and learn new equipment with ease.
When Lauren is out of the office, she is incredibly busy with her young sons, Mason and Grant. When they can find the time, youll find Lauren and her husband Brian onthe golf course, or maybe fishing. Otherwise, theyre trying to catch up on their much needed rest!
Lauren has been working in the field of dentistry for 20 years now and can still say that she loves what she does! She loves using her artistic ability and skills to help create beautiful smiles. It is her goal to build and establish a relationship with each of her patients, and give them the comfort of knowing how much she and the BDD team cares about them. She wants to help people understand how the health of your mouth can impact the health of your whole body.
Lauren and her husband Peter have lived in New Hampshire for almost 20 years. They have 2 sons, Will who is 15 and truly an old soul and is always working on some kind of motor, making maple syrup, or splitting wood. Logan is 12 and is dedicated to his Seacoast soccer team, riding his mountain bike, running road races, and building terrain parks for biking and snowboarding.

Dr. Johnson, and her team of dental pros, has provided me with excellent oral hygiene care for many years. In fact, I've been a patient since she started practicing in Exeter. An initial consult, seeking a second opinion, has become a very satisfying experience. Considering education regarding oral care, reviewing options and firmness regarding when to complete procedures, Dr. Johnson is top rate. Her recent decision to practice dental medicine free of insurance restriction is a bold move. In 2019 my search for a dentist using a natural, integrative approach led me to Dr. Johnson and Brentwood Dental. I was so happy to find a practice where everyone is passionate about helping people optimize their oral health. First Rachael helped me heal my periodontal disease so my gums became healthy again. Then Dr Johnson and Lauren M undertook a full dental rehab including replacing all my toxic fillings, crowns and bridgework. Jo-Ann outlined the treatment plan and finances. Now I have a healthy mouth and a great smile! Brentwood combines holistic and hi-tech in a beautiful, spa-like office setting. The staff here is wonderfully compassionate and welcoming. They explain each step as they are doing a cleaning or procedure. The entire office is spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend Dr. Johnson and her staff to anyone looking for amazing dental care.

For many years I have felt like a dental nomad, moving between providers, but in Brentwood Dental I have finally found my home! I cannot recommend Dr. Johnson enough! I have never felt so seen, so listened to, and so cared for. It is obvious that Dr. Johnson puts her heart and soul into her work. Her attention to detail is amazing. Dr. Johnson and her team take the time to explain everything in great detail, they show pictures of what they're seeing so that you can see it too. They walk you through every procedure as its happening, and are always concerned with your comfort. The thing I love most about Brentwood Dental, besides Dr. Johnson and her team, is how they pair a holistic, whole health approach, with cutting edge technology and technique. Most importantly, I trust Dr. Johnson and her team, and that is a wonderful feeling. This was literally the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt comfortable and at home. Everyone was kind. The atmosphere is friendly. More importantly, I had the most thorough dental exam and cleaning of my life. They take their time to carefully understand the health of your teeth. It's important to me, in all aspects of my health to be holistic and natural in my approach. I have never felt this was possible with a dentist until now. Brentwood Dental is the place to go if you want top quality care.

I always used to HATE going to the dentist...until I came here. Now I don't mind it at all. The people are so nice and friendly and are amazing at making you feel safe and welcome, and they even show you things like microscope footage of the bacteria in your mouth! They're very trustworthy and intelligent and I love this place. Highly recommend!

I love going to my dental appointments at Brentwood Dental Designs! I drive just under 2 hours each way to see Dr. Johnson and her excellent team of professionals because I did the research looking for a Dentist with Functional Medicine training, a patient centered approach, and cutting edge technology, training, and equipment. The entire team at Brentwood dental designs are excellent communicators. They accommodate my travel distance by combining appointments and promptly help me to reschedule when a winter storm is pending. Above all, they listen to me, and encourage me to stay on a path towards greater oral health. I had all of my mercury based amalgams (fillings) removed by Dr. Johnson in a safe, toxin free, environment. My overall health has steadily improved ever since. I am forever grateful.

I absolutely love everything about Brentwood Dental. The friendly staff, the professionalism, cleanliness and comfort I get when I'm there is just amazing. Dr. Johnson is amazing. My anxiety about going to the dentist has always been an issue, but since I've started coming here, it's not so bad! I highly recommend coming here. You won't be disappointed.

I seldom leave review but thought it is important due to the outstanding service I receive at Brentwood. Everyone on the team is incredibly helpful and always interested in how I'm doing both dentally and personally. They use the cutting edge equipment and tools to help keep my dental hygiene up. I used to be afraid to go to the dentist, but I look forward to going because it's never a bloody, painful event. Highly recommend!

It is hard to describe the level of comfort that I had while visiting Brentwood dental designs. The care and Customer Service is above anything I have ever experienced in my life. My hygienist Rachael explained everything in detail, all the processes-and I was so comfortable with everything that it was a 100% fantastic experience. The safety and care that is taken with each patient is above anything I have ever experienced before and I am so glad that my wife and I chose to come here and have are not only oral health but whole body health attended to.

I've always had great experiences at Brentwood Dental Designs even when the procedure has been intimidating. Everyone there has such compassion and knowledge, it's easy to relax. This is a state of the art facility - a role model for other practices to emulate. Fees are reasonable and comparative but with a higher level of treatment. I recommend Dr. J. and her staff to all my friends, can't say enough great things. Thank you Doc and all your staff! Of particular importance: During this pandemic, Brentwood Dental has taken extraordinary cautions creating a safe environment for everyone!

This office has exceeded my expectations, to simply put it. The time and care that was given to me was genuine and thoughtful. Rachael took the required time getting to know me, which allowed her to tailor her care to what I needed. The other members of the team were just as outstanding. This office has a focus on your well-being and your health. They have the know how, tools, experience and desire to give you the best dental experience. This practice was highly recommended to me and I am also highly recommending this practice.

So kind, professional, and gentle! They are a wonderful team who specialize in more natural options and healthy recovery. I have had a lot of work done on my teeth (half way done), and I couldn't be more than pleased! The first time I looked in the mirror at my white teeth instead of that black mercury, I literally teared up! It was so worth every minute, and I left feeling confident in not only my smile but the work that had been done. I would give them more stars if I could!

I have never had a better dentist! The place is relaxing and comfortable. Everyone truly looks like they enjoy working there. They use all organic products which is amazing! She is gentle and explains everything to you. I would highly recommend this dentist.
