Dr. Brent R. Humphrey, known to his patients as Dr. Brent, graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He earned his doctorate in Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. He also received his Pediatric Dental Specialty training from the MUSC Childrens Hospital. Dr. Brent is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeast and Southwest Societies of Pediatric Dentistry, South Carolina Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and South Carolina Dental Association. Dr. Brent has been in practice in Goose Creek for over 25 years. Dr. Brent regularly attends ongoing continuing education in the pediatric dental field to ensure that his patients have access to the latest diagnostic, preventive and treatment methods.
Dr. Brent knew he wanted to be a dentist since he was in grade school. While he was in dental school, he realized how much he enjoyed working with kids. In his free time, Dr. Brent enjoys travel and outdoor activities including snow skiing, scuba diving, fishing and hunting, as well as spending time with family and friends. In earlier years he enjoyed surfing, which was the inspiration for his logo. He is a regular volunteer diver at the South Carolina Aquarium. He has been married for over 30 years to his wife Elaine and has two daughters, Savannah and Mariah, a grandson, Samuel and cat named Phil. Dr. Brent and his family reside in Goose Creek and are active members of Immaculate Conception Church.
Dr. Brent has assembled an outstanding staff of professional, knowledgeable, and fun people to support our efforts in caring for children. Our chair-side dental assistants are all x-ray, CPR and nitrous oxide certified. Many have graduated from Trident Technical College's intensive dental assisting training program. Our administrative staff members are well qualified and expand their knowledge through continuing education opportunities.
Jen is part of our administrative staff. She has been in the dental field since 1997 and with Dr. Brents front office team since 2004. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and Yorkie, Lily.
Pam has been in the dental field since 2000 and has been with Dr. Brent as a clinical dental assistant since 2002. She enjoys making the kids laugh and smile. She enjoys spending time with her son, Malik and her chihuahua named Coco, who loves to cuddle. Pam proudly serves in the U.S. Army Reserve and has done so for over 24 years. She is a fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and Dallas Cowboys.
Shannon graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Trident Technical College in May 2011 and joined Dr. Brent's team in April 2012. In addition to clinical dental assisting, she also assists with administrative duties. She loves working with children and making them feel comfortable when they come to the office. Shannon grew up in Moncks Corner and has a daughter Makayla. In her free time, Shannon enjoys the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. She also likes watching football and cheering for the Gamecocks and Dallas Cowboys. On Sundays you will find her watching NASCAR.
Crystal has been a dental assistant since 2006 and joined Dr. Brents team in January 2014. She enjoys spending time with her husband Dustin and son DJ. Crystal is a Georgia football fan and loves being at the baseball or soccer fields watching her son play.
Amanda has been in the dental field since 2012. She joined Dr. Brents team in July 2015. She is a true southern girl who was born and raised in the low country. She loves spending free time with her husband and her two cats, Nala and Luna. She enjoys hunting and fishing and is a diehard Clemson fan, who loves watching games in Death Valley.
Daliah has been in the dental field since 2000. She graduated from the Dental Assistant Program at Trident Technical College and immediately began working for Dr. Brent. In 2007, she married the love of her life and now has a son David and daughter Malai. When she had her first child in 2008, she discontinued her full-time position as a chair side assistant. Although her main priority is her family, she continues to work intermittently on Dr. Brents team as needed. When she is not working, she enjoys reading books, spending time with her family and serving as a youth leader for her church.

Dr. Brent is just amazing . All his staff is just wonderful. The lady cleaning my sons teeth went through step by step what she was doing and what was happening next and I think that's important for children. Very friendly and The doctor came right in without any waiting at all. Very professional and fun and I definitely would recommend this office.

My first visit was good. Dr Humphrey rushed at the end which caused a bit of pain for my son but all was well at the end of that appointment. Today (5-3-2022) on the other hand was the most painful things to watch. My son was in agony!!!! They either did not wait for the numbing cream to kick in, or they didn't administer it at all!!! There is no way!!!!!!! Growing up I have NEVER felt anything at the dentist. I was not in the room at first because I had my daughter and siblings are not allowed in the back rooms. Therefore, I couldn't witness if they indeed gave the medicine or not. I can admit that as a person of color, I have trust issues when it comes to correct treatment of medical care. That being said, my son was in pure agony!!! The most pain he has ever felt in his life!!! He is now TERRIFIED of going to the dentist. Not to mention he has high function autism. I have never felt PAIN with a numbing shot. I am very saddened and hurt from today. I've never had cappings or fillings of any sort so I don't personally know the process. I've had extractions and have NEVER felt anything so I didn't think much of it. I'm truly disgusted today and if it wasn't for the fact that the process was already started by the time I got back there.... WE WOULD HAVE LEFT!!!!!!! NO CHILD SHOULD EVER FEEL THAT KIND OF AGONY!!!! THEN THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS UNFAMILIAR OF THE NUMBING SENSATION. WHEN I ASKED HIM... HE SAID IT HURT! While everyone is nice and everything I personally left with a distaste for this establishment... seeing your child in pain like that is one of the hardest things to endure. I left feeling as though I failed him....

Dr. Brent is a truly amazing dentist. When I was a child I was terrified of going to the dentist. Until I started seeing Dr. Brent. He made me feel comfortable and safe. That was 30 years ago. I now take my children. They love Dr Brent and his staff. You can tell they all love what they do. I couldn't see myself taking my family anywhere else.

Dr. Humphrey himself and the other hygienists were great, which is the only reason why I gave two stars. The receptionist lacks people skills and their billing is questionable. Laughing gas is required for any treatment other than a cleaning, even if the child has no issues with receiving treatment. Insurance doesn't cover laughing gas and I feel it's 1. a sneaking way to juice up costs and 2. to make their job easier. If a child doesn't have issues with receiving treatment they shouldn't be forced to use a sedative.

My children have been going there since they were about 3&4. They are personable, professional, and make an effort to make the child feel comfortable. It's clean and friendly. A recommended pediatric dentist . My kids are now 10&12 and is the only "dr" they don't mind visiting. That says a lot alone.

We love Dr. Brent and his staff. They are always friendly and very professional. My youngest was terrified of going to the dentist after a bad experience at a different place when he was a toddler. Dr. Brent and his staff have been so patient and understanding, and have exceeded my expectations in helping him overcome his fears. Now he looks forward to his checkups and cleanings. Receptionist is also very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Brent's practice for anyone looking for a great dentist for their kids!

The Doctor was very friendly and informative but, lady at the front desk needs to brush up on her customer service skills. My 8 year old was scared of this place and said he never wanted to come back. The office is old, smelled like urine and not very inviting in my opinion. I gave it a 3 because Dr. Humphrey was very sweet and gentle.

Dr. Brent and his staff are the best! He takes the time to explain everything. My daughter has been coming here for almost 7 years and I have not had a bad experience ever! Definitely recommend Dr. Brent and his staff

My kids love going to Dr. Brent's office! Almost as much as i did as a kid! They remind ME of their appointments. The staff is so fun and caring. They build a relationship with each one. Never pushing treatments on you... just a great place with integrity.
