My career as a Registered Dental Hygienist has been so rewarding. I have experienced and seen a lot working with people for so many years. I feel so lucky to have worked with some of the finest professionals in the field in the bay area. I work with offices that would always be on the cutting edge, using all the very latest technology and professional support and research. I have developed unique Dental Hygiene programs in cutting-edge preventive and periodontal recovery.
I lead and implemented a team of professional into practice for over 30+years in the same place, mentoring a dental teams into success. It was wonderful staying in one place for so many years, as it allowed me to carefully monitor our outcome, successes in the same patients for so many years.
In the 70s I received degrees as a Certified and Registered Dental Assistant RDA, CDA which I used to work my way through college and expenses. This was a gift for me in my field by allowing me to work alongside many amazing Dental Specialists in the Bay Area. It helped me to understand and see the big picture in the choices and possibilities in dental treatment, diagnosis, and best treatment planning for dental health.
In the 80s I Graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in one of the top programs in California. I was given Awards for my exceptional techniques in patient education and community service. I am still proud of my near-perfect score on State boards.
As a Dental Hygienist, my goal is to inspire others, give each person a well-turned listening ear and work towards building a wonderful relationship as a motivational coach with an individualized plan.
I love to help motivate a patient's understanding, though providing the pieces of information they may be missing. This often allows them to move towards better decisions about their dental health outcome. Often its the small things that no one really took the time to assist them with that is my secret to winning ticket.
I always ask myself whats the spark that will allow this patient to move forward on positive new approach or change. I have found People will usually pick the right chose for themselves when they completely understand what they need to do to get there.
Ive been working in the field of dentistry as a Dental Hygiene for over 30+years. I have worked closely with Microscope Evaluations and Research Institutions, Laser Therapy, Anti-bacterial control techniques, Daily Home-care technique modification as my cornerstone.
I married the handsome Greek boy next door, over 30yrs ago, we have two wonderful amazing boys. I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains where the forest and wildlife are always present. Our familys relaxation therapy after a long week.
I am often found helping others to navigate systems and find solutions through advocacy in learning differences. My compassion runs deep for those with learning differences, social and sensory issues in day-to-day living. I believe everyone should have the chance to show the world what they know and be able to reach their full potential and dreams. 'All minds matter, all minds are unique,

Dr Lay has been my family's dentist for more than 20 years. We are so lucky!!! My children grew up under his excellent dental care including at least one emergency visit when front teeth were knocked out. He is highly professional. His office always runs smoothly. He is calm, gentle and great at his profession. I am completely secure and relaxed under his care, and my teeth can be a challenge. Dr Lay also has a wonderful, reliable dental care network to help you if you need oral surgery outside of his care. His office staff is wonderful. Dr Lay and his staff make dental visits, working with insurance, and communication stress free.

I couldn't believe how covid safe the practice was. Dr. Lay greeted me at my car, took my temp, ask covid questions, and asked me to wear gloves. (which they provided). After my visit, while I was checking out and making my next appointment, I hear this machine noise which then I was told --"we fog our rooms after we see patients". I felt so safe. I would recommend everyone see Dr.Lay and his team. Love this office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lay's for more than 30 years, and it was a lucky day for me when I found him. His expertise and attention to detail is beyond compare. Not only is he the best Dentist I have ever had, but he has somehow managed to have always had the best and nicest support staff too. If I could, I would definitely give him more 5 Stars.

Dr. Lay's office on Highland Way has a host of wonderful facility improvements and is a beautiful place to spend time in. It was always a wonderful dentist office in the forest, now with all new flooring, beautiful glass doors on the patient rooms, plexiglass barriers where needed in beautiful redwood frames, and air purifiers. It's now an even more attractive office, with excellent staff and of course Dr. Lay continues his excellent conscientious dental practice.

Dr. Lay knows his stuff!! Did an excellent job on fixing all the problems I had with my teeth. the staff are incredibly sweet and delightful. They are so great with my kids when I have to bring them along with me.

I have had some good dentists before and some not quite as good. Dr. Lay has provided me the best experience so far. I have been seeing him for several years and what stood him apart from the rest for me was the initial consultation. He spent a while with me to get to know me and my dental past and concerns. He then has followed through with treating me with this in mind. He does a great job of pro-actively keeping my teeth healthy without any of the concern that he is just adding work for his own financial incentive. In the past I have not always felt comfortable going to the dentist but that has changed. I no longer have any worries or concerns going. I highly recommend seeing him.
