Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Dr. Kang headed out east to Boston to earn his undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science from Tufts University. Afterwards, he was accepted to Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois, and received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree. Longing to experience all parts of the United States, he headed out to California and completed his residency and obtained a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. His enjoyment for teaching has led him to become an associate professor at The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, shortly after graduation. Because of his affiliation with the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Dr. Kang has the unique experience of working closely with children who have special needs, such as children with cleft lip and/or palate, those who have undergone various cancer treatment, and many other patients whose care maybe best delivered in a hospital setting. His current position as a Board-certified Pediatric dentist and as an attending of the pediatric dentistry residency program at the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles is a wonderful compliment to his work in private practice. As a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the American College of Pediatric Dentistry, he also belongs to a number of other professional organizations: American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, and the Pediatric Dentistry Alumni Association of the University of Southern California.
