To me, being a dentist is more than just filling cavities. Its about improving the smiles and lives of my patients. For over 28years, Ive dedicated myself to going above and beyond to ensure my patients health and satisfaction. Above all, I treat each patient like a member of my family.
I began my education at Eastern Connecticut State University for my undergraduate degree, followed by Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Since graduating, I have actively pursued continuing education in cosmetic dentistry and computer-generated crowns, as well as many new techniques that dentistry has to offer.
A native of Fairfield, CT, I have lived in Branford for the past 28years. My wife, Ann, and I have three grown children, Maria, Robby, and Steven. Most of my free time is spent traveling with my wife to visit our kids. Ienjoyfishing, skiing, and playing tennis. I am also involved in my community through my parish, St. John Bosco, Dynamic Catholic and Cornerstone Men's Retreat.
Being able to meet and connect with so many different people is very fulfilling. Over the past 17years, Ive made many friendships with my patients. Knowing that I can help them reach their ideal smile and learn about the importance of oral healthcare is very important to me.
I attended Fairfield University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, followed by dental school at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. I completed my Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. I am constantly taking continuing education classes so our patients can experience the latest advancements in dental technology. Its important for us to stay current with any changes in dental technology.
Originally from Branford, I now reside in Madison with my wife, Andrea, and our three young children, Liam, Christian, and Emmaline. Having three children takes up all my time outside of the office, but I wouldnt have it any other way! I do however, find time to play a few games of tennis and work out at the gym.
I attended Loyola University Maryland where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I then completed my dental school training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where I was given the award for exceptional chairside manner. Following dental school, I completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency with NYU Langone in Boston, MA at Fenway Health Community Health Center.
I grew up in beautiful Branford Connecticut. Although I have lived outside of Branford while completing my education, I am excited to be back in town. I spend most of my free time with my family or in the outdoors. I enjoy relaxing on the beach, skiing in the mountains of Vermont and going for runs around my neighborhood.

I graduated in 1980 from the University of Bridgeport, Fones School of Dental Hygiene with my Bachelor of Science degree, and joined Branford Dental Care and Hammonasset Dental Care in 2003. As a hygienist, I help my patients improve their oral health through cleanings and periodontal care, preventive care, and education about effective home care. A Branford native, I spend my time outside the office with my two children, Jake and Tori.
Ive worked as a hygienist for more than 30 years, and have spent the past seven years at Branford Dental Care and Hammonasset Dental Care. First and foremost, my favorite part of my job is being an educator. Through the education process, I am able to bring the patient to a state of health. Seeing these improvements have been the driving force in my career and make me feel fulfilled and rewarded. My husband of 32 years, Bill, and I have two children, Kaitlyn and Allison, son-in-law Joshua, and a granddaughter, Olivia, who is four months old. I enjoy gardening, working out, biking, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Beginning my career as a hygienist in 1987, I joined my brother, Dr. Finnegan, here at Branford Dental Care andHammonasset Dental Care in 2008. While my main priority is taking care of my patients oral health though cleanings and periodontal maintenance, I also spend time with each patient to understand their unique goals and needs. I feel this helps me to design home care plans that will actually work!
I graduated from the University of New Haven with my dental hygiene degree in 1997, and joined the Branford Dental Care andHammonasset Dental Careteam in 2000. As I watch my patients get healthy, its fulfilling to know that Ive been an important part of that positive change. I really like getting to know all my patients; each person is different and has such a unique personality! I live in Durham with my husband, Mike, and our daughter, Nicole. When I have time, I love fly-fishing in the Florida Keys!
I have been working with Branford Dental Care and Hammonasset Dental Care since 2017. I truly enjoy seeing my patients everyday and giving them the best individualized care possible. I am committed to comfortable and comrehensive dentistry. Your smile is my passion! When I am not working, you can find me at the beach with my finace Zach and our pups Pancake and Birdie!
I graduated in 2019from the University of New Haven,and joined Branford Dental Care and Hammonasset Dental Care in 2020. As a Dental Hygienist, my focus is providing high quality care to my patients and educating them on how to maintain good oral health. I love interacting with my patients and coworkers. I am thankful that I found such a great team to work with everyday.
I graduated from the University of New Haven in 2018. I have been working with Branford Dental Care and Hammonasset Dental Care since 2019. Branford Dental Carehas been my dental office since I was 6 years old. Growing up, I always admired the practice and welcoming team. Being able to call Branford Dental Care my place of work now is something I take pride in. My goal here is to provide optimum care for my patients by educating them on their oral health and coming to an understanding of what their individual needs are. What makes it all worth it is the positive outcomes once my patients reach their goals.

Great office! The staff is wonderful. Front desk is patient, helpful and accommodating. The hygienists are great as well! My favorite is Kelly! You cannot go wrong with Dr. Hacker or Dr. Finnegan, they are both wonderful! Highly recommend!

A top notch facility. Everyone from the top down, from the DMD's, hygienists, and front desk staff are all incredibly genuine, personable, and caring. I could not recommend Branford Dental enough to anyone in need of a trustworthy and responsive dentist office.

Superior quality, service and professionalism! I highly recommend Dr. Maria Hacker. She is incredibly smart, thorough in her assessment and treatments and able to make a visit to the dentist comfortable. Her bedside demeanor is calm and poised. Additionally, Kathy, is a phenomenal dental hygienist. She thoroughly explains the best ways to clean and care for your teeth. If you want a dental office that is professional, clean, innovative and that provides personalized care, this is the place for you! I give both Branford Dental Care and Hammonasset Dental Care 5+ stars.

I'm an elderly patient that I had the opportunity to have Dr Ryan Finnegan work on my crown.He was very professional, yet personal while making me feel comfortable during my crown procedure.Cant say enough good about him.He truly cared about my well being along with doing everything he could to help me with my situation.Anyone looking for a good dentist these days that aren't puppy mills then you will find a home here. I was a happy client here but not anymore. The office manager or whoever she is is extremely rude and her attitude was bad enough that I will not go back. I also have referred people to this practice before but will not be doing that any longer.

This place is so clean- they have the best covid-19 cleaning plan I have seen- the waiting room is very distanced from one chair to the other, and once you get up, they immediately clean your chair. As a new patient, I was very impressed. I got a night-guard and I was expecting weeks for it to be made, but they made it in house and it was ready for me to pick up within 24 hours.

So I typically love this dentist but I've been trying to reach them for the last few weeks to see if I can get in to have a cracked filling fixed. I called left a voicemail they called me back left me a voicemail and I've been trying to call back ever since. I know with all the craziness going on its difficult but this tooth is very sharp and I need it fixed. I'll try to call again after the holiday and hopefully I can get in before I have to go the next route and find another dentist.

I love Branford Dental. I went yesterday and saw Kathy for a cleaning. I've always had extreme anxiety relating to the dentist, but I no longer have any since switching to them. They're so calming and talk you through everything as they're doing it.
