I have been practicing orthodontics for over 30 years and it is still a thrill for me to see a shy young patient blossom into a confident person as his or her smile transforms throughout treatment. Being an orthodontist is the best job in the world other than a rock star and I am grateful every day for the patients who trust me to treat them. Im proud to provide award winning smiles for the residents of Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, Orange County, and Monticello, NY.
I graduated with honors from Manhattan College with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and then attended Columbia University School of Dental Medicine where I graduated first in my class with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Several prestigious awards were bestowed upon me during my academic career, including the Alpha-Omega Fraternity Award for Academic Achievement throughout my four-year course of study at Columbia, the Psi-Omega Fraternity Award for highest academic achievement, the CUSDOS Alumni Award for Excellence in Operative Dentistry, the CUSDOS Alumni Award for Excellence in Stomatology, the American Academy of Dental Radiology Certificate of Recognition and the Enrico Fermi Award for Clinical Excellence.
After graduation, I entered a general practice residency at the world-renowned Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and received advanced dental training in all phases of dentistry. After completing my residency, my dental skills were further honed by practicing general dentistry as an associate in two private dental practices in Westchester and Orange counties. My passion for orthodontics drove me to further my schooling. I obtained my post-doctoral orthodontic certificate from Eastman Dental Center.
With a constant emphasis on continuing education to keep me on the leading edge of my profession, I am honored to be Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. I am certified in Invisalign clear aligners and Incognito hidden braces.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Mary, who is a nurse with a BSN degree. We have four boys, one of whom is currently an orthodontist in our practice. When Im not in the office I enjoy weight training, bicycling, and fishing. I have coached youth soccer and football.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Kellie, with whom I have two sons and a daughter. When Im not working I enjoy scuba diving, underwater and regular photography, kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, and sailing. I also love going camping with the family and am an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the local New York teams.
Knowing that I can change peoples lives by creating beautiful smiles and functional bites, is one of the most rewarding gifts any doctor can receive. Im proud to provide award winning smiles for the residents of Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, Orange County, and Monticello, NY.
I love to hear about my adolescent patients lives and interests and especially enjoy discussing sports with them. They are funny and often come out with some really great stuff. My adult patients are wonderful for sharing family stories, especially since I have three young children of my own.
From a treatment perspective, I love the fact that no two malocclusions are exactly alike, which presents me with a new puzzle to solve each time a new patient walks into the office. Every case must be dissected to determine why the malocclusion is present, and then it is up to me to decide which methods are appropriate for treating the patients concerns as well as providing the best possible outcome.
Dr. Mike is proud to join his dad, Dr. Michael Skrobola along with Dr. Jon Schlosser and the Bracesetters team at all four of our locations! He is looking forward to continuing the tradition of creating award-winning smiles at Bracesetters Orthodontics in Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, and Monticello!
Dr. Mike continued his education at the University of New York at Buffalos School of Dentistry, where he graduated number one in his class and earned his DDS degree. He received awards for excellence in anatomy, physiology and dental occlusion, among others accolades and honors.

So far I have had 3 out of my 4 kiddos treated by Dr. Schlosser and could not be happier with the care, coordination, flexibility on scheduling and of course, the end results for ALL of them. My kids love coming here so much so that my 4th child keeps asking when will it be his turn! Thank you Dr. Schlosser and the entire Bracesetters family for taking such good care of my kiddos!

I am 39 and I finally decided to get braces. After checking a few Orthodontists out I decided to go with Dr. Schlosser at Bracesetters in Monroe and I am so incredible happy I did! I have never felt strange going in, even though I was much older than most of the other patients. I was always welcomed warmly and the Dr. and team were always great at explaining what they were doing and made sure that I was as comfortable as possible. They are amazingly friendly yet professional, and I was very impressed with what they were able to do with my stubborn adult teeth. My teeth are beautiful now and I can smile without feeling embarrassed! I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much Dr. Schlosser and his amazing dental assistants!!

My teenager has had only positive experiences at both the Monroe and Middletown offices. All the staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Doing a great job correcting an overbite and giving him a great smile.

Without the caring staff and doctors at BraceSetters, my daughter would have had a horrible orthodontic experience. Dr. Schlosser pointed us to a kind oral surgeon who helped calm and empower my daughter through her surgery. When she had difficulties and her anxiety ran high (only a couple of times), he and all the staff took time, showed endless patience and understanding. My daughter now has a beautiful smile and no fear of the orthodontist. It is wonderful! I firmly believe it we had used another orthodontist it would not have been so easy. Thanks, Dr. Schlosser and all the staff!!

everyone in that office are really really nice people. very happy place. everyone takes care of each person and really makes sure they get what they need and get happy about the progress being made with your teeth. i love them :)

The assistants and doctor were all talking genially while I was there (for 3 freaking hours to get them on!), and the assistants worked really well together, sharing tools and helping each other. Patty was so patient with me, letting it happen at a pace I was comfortable with and Dr. S did a great job putting my braces on today. You can tell the staff got along great, happier people are more productive people who are better at their job. Which means my teeth will be happy and pretty. Even the doctor's attitude towards his staff indicated to me that he really listens. When my dental assistant asked someone to use a favored tool while she was working on my teeth, he offered to order more so she could have what she needed. It sounds like they've got a great team here. I consulted with several orthodontists in the area and I'm happy I chose Bracesetters. Which is good, because I'm going to be coming here for two stinking years. There's no way around it, orthodontics are a PITA, choosing these guys is going to make it a hell of a lot easier.
