I have been practicing orthodontics for over 30 years and it is still a thrill for me to see a shy young patient blossom into a confident person as his or her smile transforms throughout treatment. Being an orthodontist is the best job in the world other than a rock star and I am grateful every day for the patients who trust me to treat them. Im proud to provide award winning smiles for the residents of Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, Orange County, and Monticello, NY.
I graduated with honors from Manhattan College with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and then attended Columbia University School of Dental Medicine where I graduated first in my class with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Several prestigious awards were bestowed upon me during my academic career, including the Alpha-Omega Fraternity Award for Academic Achievement throughout my four-year course of study at Columbia, the Psi-Omega Fraternity Award for highest academic achievement, the CUSDOS Alumni Award for Excellence in Operative Dentistry, the CUSDOS Alumni Award for Excellence in Stomatology, the American Academy of Dental Radiology Certificate of Recognition and the Enrico Fermi Award for Clinical Excellence.
After graduation, I entered a general practice residency at the world-renowned Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and received advanced dental training in all phases of dentistry. After completing my residency, my dental skills were further honed by practicing general dentistry as an associate in two private dental practices in Westchester and Orange counties. My passion for orthodontics drove me to further my schooling. I obtained my post-doctoral orthodontic certificate from Eastman Dental Center.
With a constant emphasis on continuing education to keep me on the leading edge of my profession, I am honored to be Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. I am certified in Invisalign clear aligners and Incognito hidden braces.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Mary, who is a nurse with a BSN degree. We have four boys, one of whom is currently an orthodontist in our practice. When Im not in the office I enjoy weight training, bicycling, and fishing. I have coached youth soccer and football.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Kellie, with whom I have two sons and a daughter. When Im not working I enjoy scuba diving, underwater and regular photography, kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, and sailing. I also love going camping with the family and am an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the local New York teams.
Knowing that I can change peoples lives by creating beautiful smiles and functional bites, is one of the most rewarding gifts any doctor can receive. Im proud to provide award winning smiles for the residents of Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, Orange County, and Monticello, NY.
I love to hear about my adolescent patients lives and interests and especially enjoy discussing sports with them. They are funny and often come out with some really great stuff. My adult patients are wonderful for sharing family stories, especially since I have three young children of my own.
From a treatment perspective, I love the fact that no two malocclusions are exactly alike, which presents me with a new puzzle to solve each time a new patient walks into the office. Every case must be dissected to determine why the malocclusion is present, and then it is up to me to decide which methods are appropriate for treating the patients concerns as well as providing the best possible outcome.
Dr. Mike is proud to join his dad, Dr. Michael Skrobola along with Dr. Jon Schlosser and the Bracesetters team at all four of our locations! He is looking forward to continuing the tradition of creating award-winning smiles at Bracesetters Orthodontics in Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, and Monticello!
Dr. Mike continued his education at the University of New York at Buffalos School of Dentistry, where he graduated number one in his class and earned his DDS degree. He received awards for excellence in anatomy, physiology and dental occlusion, among others accolades and honors.

I am a 62 year old who just had my braces removed after 16 months. I am so pleased. My teeth feel and look amazing. The staff is so accommodating and pleasant. Every worker was attentive to my needs at each visit. My favorite was Kim. She is a happy worker. Helped me at every visit making my braces more comfortable and appealing. My four children came here many years ago. When I decided I too needed a trip to the orthodontist, Bracesetters was my choice without question. Number ONE choice!!!

The level of care I received during my duration at Brace setters was outstanding. I can not say enough about the care that my daughter received at Bracesetters orthodontics. She has been going to Bracesetters since she was about 10 years old, and she is turning 16 this year. Dr. Skrobola, and the team at Bracesetters were so welcoming, caring, and helpful! They explained everything that was happening with my daughters treatment, and answered all of the questions we had throughout the process. They did everything to make my daughter feel as comfortable as possible, even throughout the whole pandemic. They streamlined the process, and we felt very safe visiting their offices! So with all that said, I would highly recommend Bracesetters orthodontics!

Got my braces in 1996 when I was 11, I'm 36 now and everytime I go to the dentist I get compliments on how well my braces were done. My brother and sister have the same experience, thank you Dr Skrobola 27 years later!
