I love being an orthodontist. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that I've built with my patients and their families are one in a million. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel at-home when they come to me for treatment and I work hard to give my patients the attention they deserve.
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am able to stay current on the latest technology and orthodontic treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide them with more options and better results. I am a member of several professional associations that provide me with opportunities for continuing education.
I am truly blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, and it is always such an honor to know that I have made a difference in so many of my patients' lives. Continuing education is a vital part of any practitioners career, especially that of an orthodontist. Continuing education helps me stay current with new technology and evidence-based practice. Since finishing my formal education, I have completed the Charles H. Tweed course and regularly attend the Illinois Society of Orthodontics meetings. Im also currently enrolled in the two-year McLaughlin program.
After living in Milwaukee, WI for ten years while completing my schooling, I moved back to my hometown of Chicago to join my father at his orthodontic practice. My family currently consists of me and my Golden-doodle Sophie. Of course, I love working side by side with my dad and having the support of my mom and brother along the way. My hobbies include camping, hiking, watching movies, cooking, and finding the newest restaurants in town.

Carolyn loves serving others. Her goal is making sure each person feels comfortable and welcomed at Braces by Barnes. Youll meet Carolyn at our front desk. Shell help you schedule visits, update paperwork, and answer your questions. You may also speak with her when you call. Carolyn provides general office support, too. She loves being part of a team that creates amazing smiles and looks forward to meeting you.
Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and church family. She is a graphic designer and a devotional author. She creates, publishes, and distributes monthly devotionals and prayer calendars.
Warm and friendly, Danielle will assist you during your visits. She loves building friendships and encouraging our patients to be the best person they can be. In addition to greeting and seating patients, Danielle takes X-rays, develops study models, and records patient information. Working chairside, Danielle helps the doctors during orthodontic procedures, while supporting and making sure our patient is comfortable.
Earnest loves working with his hands in our onsite lab. He enjoys crafting custom appliances that gently shift a patients teeth. He also creates the custom retainers for patients at the end of treatment, so they can keep their incredible, finished smile for the rest of their life. Additionally, Earnest makes models of each patients teeth. Our doctors use these to determine the best treatment approach for a patient.
Earnest has a first lady in his life: his wife of more than 35 years. He also has eight children. Some of Earnests interests include cooking, his four large aquariums, and volunteering with the homeless through his church.
Kana loves working with people and helping them get the beautiful smile they deserve. She meets with our new patients, assists with their initial exam, and records a patients information. She will also help you understand the orthodontic process and answer your questions about treatment recommendations. Kana loves being part of a team that focuses on delivering great care for wonderful people.
Lakeisha finds our patients to be delightful people. She says they encourage her, every day, to become a better orthodontic assistant. She enjoys helping each person and witnessing the changes in their personalities and smiles. Lakeisha assists the doctors. She sets up the trays, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and offers chairside assistance. She also will also teach you about hygiene and home care instructions.
Lakeisha has three beautiful children who are her life. She recently joined the UCC Covenant North Church and loves her church family. You can often find Lakeisha reading, cooking, and supporting her childrens school activities.
Maria B. enjoys her time with our patients. She especially loves watching each person move through treatment, seeing the transformation of their personality as their smile changes. Delivering chairside assistance, Maria helps the doctors during procedures, such as tying arch wires, processing X-rays, and explaining home care instructions. She will also update you about the progress of your new smile.
Maria has two beautiful daughters who are the lights of her life. She also loves animals and has two cats, Shelby and Feefee. Maria enjoys reading, dancing, church functions, and time with friends and family.
Maria P. enjoys communicating with patients and parents, learning about their lives and interests. She likes building friendships while helping each patient develop an incredible smile, one theyll love for life. Wearing several hats in our office, Maria assists with the IDB trays and takes patient records. She also works in our onsite lab, pouring up models. Fluent in Spanish, Maria translates for patients and their families.
Marias family includes her husband, Omar, her daughter, Delilah, and her Chihuahua, Kloe. She loves boxing and trained at the South Chicago Boxing Club. Maria enjoys working out and time at Immaculate Conception Church.
Ramona is a motivational speaker. She works diligently with her church, where she is a mentor to youth in the Chicago area. Currently, Ramona is attending the Chicago Baptist Institute International, completing a degree in Theology.
Sherri loves working in a practice where the doctors and team members provide a close family environment. This ensures a welcoming, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for you and your family. Sherri trains our new clinic employees. She also works with patients and their parents to ensure the patient understands their responsibilities, and offers hygiene education, too. Sherri motivates and keeps harmony within our team.
Dr. Eric Barnes built a practice based on delivering great orthodontic care with a personal touch, and he is excited to have welcomed his daughter, Dr. Ashley Barnes, to join him in continuing his legacy of orthodontic excellence.
