I consider myself blessed to have been practicing orthodontics since 2008. When I was first exposed to this specialty of dentistry, I was amazed at the melding of biology, physics, and artistry into a career that contributed to the benefit of patients. I am most excited to see patients get excited about their transformative process and the outcomes of their treatment. It is most satisfying when patients realize that it also took their hard work to achieve great results!

Dr. Vanessa Wang attended Baylor University for her Bachelor of Science degree. She continued on to Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Wang completed her residency in orthodontics and Masters in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Wang is a part-time clinical associate faculty for the University of Pennsylvania SDMs Department of Orthodontics, where she is involved with resident education and pre-doctoral and post-doctoral lecturing. She is also the Past President (2014) and current sitting Board Member of Greater Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists, a group dedicated to the continued education of orthodontists in the Tri-State area.

Continual participation in an academic environment along with a society dedicated to continuing education in the field of orthodontics ensures that Dr. Wang will be immersed in the forefront of ideas that the specialty of orthodontics has to offer. She finds teaching to be a personally fulfilling way to ensure that the specialtys next generation of clinicians will be well equipped to treat patients.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Wang has resided in the Philadelphia area since 2005. She and her husband have twin daughters and two goldfish, Glub-glub and Orangy. When shes not in the office, Dr. Wang spends all her time with her family. Having found her ability for artistic expression rather later in life, Dr. Wang is making up for lost time. If shes not with family, shes working on her most current art project!

I am honored to be an orthodontist. We are in a unique position to not only improve our patients oral health but to help them build confidence, smile, and provide a foundation in oral health for their entire lives. Working with so many unique people every day inspires me to be both a better person and orthodontist! My patients are wonderful. I see them work hard to improve their smiles and am so proud of each and every one. They ask great questions, have fun, and make me smile every day. I truly have the best job!

I enjoy learning from my patients, giving them beautiful smiles, seeing their confidence grow, and providing them with tools to improve their oral health over a lifetime. My individual relationships with patients are what make every day fun! They never cease to amaze me. Dr. Frantz

Dr. Andrea Frantz completed her undergraduate education in 2011 at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a BA in Health and Societies. Her exposure to diverse areas in healthcare motivated her to pursue a dual degree program in dentistry and public health. Dr. Frantz graduated from Temple University with her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2016. Upon graduation from dental school, she was immediately accepted into the orthodontic residency at Eastman Institute for Oral Health, where she graduated with a certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in 2018.

As a clinical orthodontist, Dr. Frantz enjoys treating individual patients and applying research to patient care. Continuing education through coursework, study groups, and involvement with organized dentistry is necessary to offer her patients the highest quality care and ensure their treatment is evidence based. She enjoys being an active member in organized dentistry, learning from colleagues, and advocating for her patients.

Dr. Frantzs family is actively involved in the healthcare field. Her mother Linda is a physician, her dad Bryan and sister Kristen are periodontists, her brother-in-law Brendan is an oral surgeon, her youngest sister Gretchen is in the healthcare field, and her boyfriend is also an orthodontist! They enjoy learning from each other and working together!
