Dr. Shin has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since 2000. He grew up in Lynnwood and Mercer Island and attended Mercer Island High School. He graduated from University of Washington with a bachelor of arts in Zoology and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Shin is committed to continuing education to provide the latest innovative materials and dental techniques. He believes in conservative and preventative dentistry. His practice philosophy is to treat his patients like family. Dr. Shin and his staff are committed to the highest quality dentistry in a gentle and caring environment.
Born in the Philippines, Hal and his family immigrated to Seattle in the early 90s. His first job was a Pharmacy technician in Kirkland. With many years of experience in health care, Hal decided to pursue a career in Dentistry by earning his education at Seattle Central College with a Dental Hygiene degree in 2008.
As a new addition to the team, Hal joined the office in 2020. He treats hispatients like his own family and ensures everyone gets the highest level of dental care. Those who cross his path learn about the values of maintaining good oral hygiene and the comforts of a dental visit. Often, he strives todeliverthe most comfortable and thorough cleanings through the use of high tech equipment and available technologies.
Like many others, when Hal is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He's developed a passion for photography and pursuing an active lifestyle. Most of all, Hal cherishes his free time by taking his Corgi, Sir Bazil Longfellow out to explore the surrounding dog parks.

I had a truly great experience. I have a lot of anxiety with past dental visits, and I have been searching for a new practice I can trust and feel secure in. The whole team here was incredibly kind and respectful; I felt that my concerns were heard and everyone was very thorough, considerate, and patient.

Dr. Shin and his staff are the kindest folks you will ever meet! They were abundantly cautious with sanitation. They are actively cleaning surfaces, wearing masks, face shields, and gloves. Their front desk has a shield guard. This made me feel safe that they are exercising all measures to prevent exposure to COVID. They even took my temp before coming in. They also have a mask policy for customers (while in waiting room) which is great. They spaced out patients so no problem w/6 ft distance. Dr. Shin explains procedures and is a gentle dentist while also being thorough. He has a straightforward style - getting to you health, not selling unnecessary procedures. I found him very trustworthy. Looking for a new dentist? Give Dr. Shin and his team a try! You'll be glad you did.

They have a good team members from x-ray technician, dental hygienist to Dr.Shin and I received excellent services and care. We are very glad that our daughter introduced Dr.Shin to us.

Hall is a great Hygenist, gentle yet thorough. Dr Shin is a wonderful Dentist, he figured out my reason for avoiding chewing on my left side had nothing to do with the tooth, it was that my mouth guard needed adjusting and was causing me to pain, he adjusted it and discomfort is so much better, I'm sure it will be gone soon.

I have a mouthful of good things to say about this place! I've been coming to this office my entire life (30+ years) and from the days of getting to pick a toy out of the basket to now just getting to reconnect with my friends, it is always a pleasure. Dr. Shin is an incredible dentist and it is reassuring to always be in such capable hands for any procedure. Him and his team are just overall great people, fun and friendly. I enjoy catching up with them every 6 months or so on not just teeth but hobbies and life. When Hal starts telling stories of his corgi, your day will immediately be uplifted. This team is good people and for that reason, no matter how far away I get, I will always continue to come here for my dental work.

Had a couple cavities taken care of this morning. Quick and painless. Office staff are nice and friendly! Dr Shin is personable and gets the job done with care.... if you need a dentist check this office out, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing all around! Normally I get a bit nervous when it comes to places like the dentists office. Not here though. I felt like I was going a spa. If spas had the sounds of drills and such. Meaning...this place is nicely decorated and well kept. Now travel with me to when I needed to set my appt. on Monday. I had sent an email on Sunday and they were fast to reply and get me set with a day and time. As a new patient, they are up to date with technology and filling out forms, ahead of my appt., and all online through my phone. When I get in, simply told them who I am and all was good. The assistant brought me to the back, had some small talk while we were getting all set, x-rays were taken and BAM! Shots for all! Once I'm num...the job is taking place and the dentist was just as quick and cool as the assistant. They talked to me about the options and what could be expected if things changed. I love having options. He did the job and did an out-freakin-standing job! Throughout the process, they kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. They have totally earned my trust, business, and recommendations to ANYONE needing a dentist.
