Dr. Soben was born in Wichita Falls and moved to Abilene, TX, as a child. He attended Cooper High School, where he was involved in football and many scholastic activities. After studying biology at Texas Tech University, Dr. Soben began his four-year dental education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, one of the best dental schools in the country. After graduation in 2003, he moved back to Abilene and became partners with Dr. Bourland.
Married with three children, Dr. Soben is a volunteer coach and Sunday School teacher, and his kids are active in soccer, football, baseball, basketball, piano, and choir. He enjoys such water activities as skiing, boating, water parks, and swimming. He also attends many high school and college sporting events in town.
Dr. Soben is a member of the Texas Dental Association, the 17th District Dental Society, and a past president of the Dental Society. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and was voted Top Dentist by colleagues.
Dr. Bourland was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1988. He did his undergraduate work at Texas Tech University, majoring in Biology. In 1996, Dr. Bourland received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he received the prestigious Kenneth D. Rudd Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry.
He is a member of the 17th District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Bourland has served as Delegate, Vice President, and President in the 17th District.
Born and reared in Eastland, TX, Dr. Bowles played baseball at Ranger College prior to attending Texas Tech University where he completed his undergraduate study in biochemistry. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he received his doctorate in Dental Surgery.
In 2007 Dr. Bowles completed his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Womack Army Medical Center in North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years and received the Army Commendation Medal and The Army Achievement Medal twiceonce for Meritorious Service at the 121st Combat Support Hospital in the Republic of Korea and once for Valor during the November 5, 2009, terrorist attack in Fort Hood, TX.
Dr. Bowles passion and expertise in oral surgery (such as dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, and oral soft tissue grafting) also extends to facial cosmetics and facial surgery, including the repair of injuries sustained from Facial Trauma, Treatment of Cleft Lip and Palate Deformities, the Correction of Facial Deformities, Temporomandibular Joint Arthroscopy and Replacement Surgery.
In 2011 Dr. Bowles developed the Texas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery as an outreach to those who need advanced oral and facial care. Dr. Bowles is active in mission trips to Central and South America with Smiles International & Healing the Children Foundations, in which he surgically corrects Cleft Lip and Palate deformities in countries that do not have access to specialized surgery. In 2014 he developed the Bowles Foundation, a charitable organization to help Texas children and adults receive surgical correction of their craniofacial deformities.
Dr. Bowles was board certified in 2009 and is trained in all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the National Dental Society of Anesthesiologists. A Fellow of the American Society of TMJ Surgeons, Dr. Bowles also is a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the Texas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Texas Dental Association, and the Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Johnathon Bogard was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. He attended the University of North Texas where he majored in biology. He then went on to acquire his dental degree from Texas A&M College of Dentistry where he was educated in the latest dental technology and techniques. Besides providing excellent clinical care, Dr. Bogard is committed to creating and fostering lifelong relationships with his patients. He understands that everyone is unique and deserves to receive individualized dental care.

I cannot say enough good things about this office as a whole. Dr. Soben has taken such great care of myself and my family. They are compassionate, gentle and kind. Emergency care is also amazing. Dr. Bogard extracted a tooth with no problems and made me feel genuinely comfortable. Team members are great as well. It is refreshing to have a practice I can count on. I trust and feel safe with this team. Thank you all so much!

Dr. Bogard is a truly fantastic dentist. He has a gentle, kind, compassionate heart for those who fear the dentist. I've been seeing him for over a year now. He made me the most beautiful implant dentures. He gave me back grace and style with my new smile. He's a true artist in his profession! I fractured a filling that dug into my gum. I called Bourland-Soben as soon as they open their offices. By midmorning I was being seen by Dr. Bogard. One hour later my filling was replaced eliminating the pain. Thank you for the quick and excellent service.

Charged my insurance for a consultation fee and then proceeded to tell me the dentist I was seeing doesn't accept insurance so I paid for a consultation after my insurance paid for it and will not give me a refund. Very rude and disrespectful about the whole situation

This office is professional and the girls are all so sweet. The dentists are AH. MA. ZING. My daughter loves this office. Shelly is the best. She remembers EVERYTHING. It's crazy how she can go 6 months without seeing me and knew that I was growing out my hair. LOVE LOVE LOVE this office. Totally recommend them.

Started good, but turn out the worse they don't work with you on payments. Even if you have most of the money. Instead they direct you to a third party credit company. Sadly it didn't surprise me at all, now days it's all about money not a care for people. Thank You anyways........... Disappointed Client

First time patient here. Every staff on that place is very friendly. I feel comfortable and safe. I feel like the nurses and my doctor -Dr. Bogard is trying to hear what I say. Explanation and suggestions about my dental condition were explained clearly...and my opinion as patient about all the treatments is asked first before really pursuing it, and that's very important for me. I can't say enough great things about Bourland - Soben Partners Dentistry! From the front office staff to the hygienists to the dentists, they are all amazing. They treated my kids (7 yo and 3 yo) and myself with such care and were always so welcoming! My kids loved going! A few days after their appointments they'd be asking when they were going back! You know that's when you've found the best. Only reason we stopped using them is because we moved. I can only hope to find a dentist office just as amazing!
