Dr. Feller attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he would score a 96 on his part I national boards, placing him in the top 2% of dental students in the country. Dr. Feller finished with a 3.90 GPA (out of 4.00), placing him in the top of his class. After completing the four-year program, Dr. Feller received his doctor of dental medicine and graduated with the following honors: Magna Cum Laude honors, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (honorary dental society), Phi Kappa Phi (honorary dental society), Hinman scholar (two outstanding graduates as selected by faculty), and Dean's scholar. Dr. Feller continued his studies in the school's graduate program and in December 2003 was awarded a Master of Science degree in oral biology for his research in molecular biology.
Dr. Feller was successfully accepted into the orthodontic residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. While in residency, he was trained in both the didactics and clinical aspects of orthodontics. Dr. Feller served as class president for both years while working several nights a week in a general dental practice. In 2005, he successfully passed the American Board of Orthodontics written examination, signifying that he is board-eligible. Dr. Feller would go on to receive his orthodontic specialty certificate from Tufts University.
Dr. Feller has received advanced training during and after residency in each of the following areas: Invisalign, TMJ dysfunction, cleft lip and palate, implant-supported anchorage, corticotomy orthodontics, combination orthodontics/orthognathic surgery, the Damon system, and many other areas. He feels it is vitally important to remain abreast of the finest orthodontic techniques through continuing education. In recent years he has attended educational seminars for advanced orthodontics in New York City, San Francisco, San Antonio, Phoenix, Orlando, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, and Boston. Our profession is ever-evolving and Dr. Feller is committed to staying abreast of the considerable improvements in technology and patient care.
Dr. Feller is also a partner in an orthodontic practice in Rock Springs, Wyoming (Feller and Feller orthodontics). He enjoys spending a few days a month working with the fine staff and wonderful patients in southwest Wyoming. The Feller family (beautiful wife and four awesome sons) reside in North Salt Lake, Utah. Some of their favorite activities include snow-skiing, wake-surfing, golfing, and most anything they can do together. Dr. Feller feels his highest priorities are love and service to God, his family, and his fellow man.
Dr. Feller's practice philosophy is that each patient should receive the highest quality of care and attention to detail to achieve a broad, beautiful smile. In orthodontics, as with so many other health-care realms, technology and treatment is evolving at a rapid pace. At Bountiful Orthodontics you will find a state of the art facility including 3D imaging, high quality 3D scanning, and soft tissue laser technology, as well as the finest orthodontic treatment protocols available today.
Dr. Heaps was privileged to study at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Upon acceptance there Dr. Heaps received the Deans Scholarship for outstanding incoming students. Dr. Heaps participated in several leadership positions at UCLA and was elected by his class to serve as the Class Vice President. Dr. Heaps was also selected by the Dean to participate in the prestigious Deans Leadership Institute.
After graduating from UCLA, Dr. Heaps continued his education at the University of Utah Hospital. Dr. Heaps there completed a one year residency in general dentistry where he gained extensive experience in periodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics and oral surgery. After learning so much about all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Heaps decided that his true interest and passion was in orthodontics.
Dr. Heaps was accepted to attend the orthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, New York. While at Montefiore, Dr. Heaps gained extensive experience in clinical orthodontics. During his final year, Dr. Heaps was chosen by the residency director to serve as the Chief Resident. Dr. Heaps successfully passed the American Board of Orthodontics written examination qualifying him to be a board eligible orthodontist. In June 2014, Dr. Heaps received his orthodontic specialty certificate.
After spending several years on both the east and west coasts, Dr. Heaps is happy to call Utah his home again and loves being close to his family. He enjoys the outdoors particularly snow skiing, waterskiing and swimming. Dr. Heaps is also a huge movie buff.
When I was growing up, I required extensive orthodontic treatment. I was in braces for several years. But once my braces came off, I was amazed how many people complimented my smile. My smile suddenly gave me more confidence than Id ever had before and truly made a remarkable difference in my life. To me, there is nothing more satisfying than passing that experience on to my patients. Witnessing the excitement and transformation an improved smile can bring someone is priceless. I had a fantastic experience at Bountiful Orthodontics! When I had a bracket break which does happen if you eat the wrong foods they were totally on top of it and got me right in. Very friendly and fun staff with a fabulous environment that makes you want to be there. After every visit they would have cookie for you that were delicious! Best orthodontist both Feller and Heaps are great and know what they are doing. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

Bountiful Orthodontics have been amazing!! I brought my four kids all together for a consultation. Ages 7-14 years old. They patiently worked with each child getting them set up in the system. They explained what they recommend each child should have. I never felt pressured into anything and I was confident that they really want what is best. They have me options and one of my kids was ready for braces. They had them on him with in 48 hrs! I'm hooked and all my kids will get their turns soon. Thanks again!!!!

When it comes to knowledge, skill, and experience, Dr. Feller is probably the best orthodontist in the area, and we wish we could have had him do our son's braces. So why two stars? The problem is with the billing department. They were not honest with us and provided very poor customer service. They also refused to honor their contract with our dental insurance. Whether you are a dentist or a doctor, there are pros and cons to being "in network" with a PPO insurance company. The benefit of being "in network" is that you gain access to a greater number of potential customers (those who only go to providers who are covered in-network by their insurance company), but the drawback is that you can only bill amount that the insurance company allows for each type of medical or dental service in their contract with the in-network provider. Bountiful Orthodontics prefers to have their cake and eat it too. After the initial exam/consultation with our son, we were given a detailed invoice for $5700, which explained that our insurance would pay $3500 and we would pay $2200. Having tons of experience with Explanation of Benefit (EOB) forms for medical claims, I knew that what typically happens is that the provider usually bills the insurance for a higher amount, then the insurance company comes back saying the allowable/contracted amount is lower, so the doctor or dentist then writes of the difference between the original billed amount (what they wish they could charge) and the allowed amount, and then the patient is only billed for their percentage of the insurance's allowed amount. Bountiful Orthodontics wanted us to pay the full $2200 without going through that process, assuring us that $5700 is the allowed amount. I called our dental insurance to check, and they strongly recommended that Bountiful Orthodontics send a predetermination request, saying that most likely the allowed/contracted amount for in-network orthodontists was $4500 or $4800, not $5700. I called the billing lady at Bountiful Orthodontics and she still insisted that the $5700 was the contracted/allowable amount but that our insurance would only pay a max of $3500 so we would have to pay the $2200. The part about the $3500 was true but the other part was a lie. I said I wanted to see something in writing on an EOB from our insurance confirming what the allowable charge is, and requested that she send the pre-determination/pre-authorization request as our insurance had recommended. She tried to persuade me against that, saying it might be a month wait for the predetermination to be processed by our insurance. I said I was willing to wait (to possibly save $1000), and so she said she would send the predetermination request to our insurance. She never did. So I sent the detailed invoice/diagnosis to our insurance company myself. The insurance emailed me and Bountiful Orthodontics explaining that they were over-billing by over $1000 and that Bountiful Orthodontics was required to write that off, that we were only required to pay $900 out of pocket and the insurance would pay $3500. The billing lady at Bountiful Orthodontist ignored that email and ignored my email. Apparently, they get away with overbilling most of their customers that have our insurance company because most people just trust them and pay whatever they ask without looking at the EOB. Fortunately we found another in-network orthodontist in Bountiful that was willing to work with our insurance and only charge us what their contract with the insurance company allows them to charge.

We're currently on child number 2 at Bountiful Orthodontics, and will ultimately need to send child number 3 as well (darn genetics! missing teeth!) Child number 2 had a tooth growing sideways beneath his gums. With a little help from an oral surgeon and Dr. Feller, the tooth was redirected and has been pulled through to its proper placement! Oh the wonders of medical science! And to top things off, the staff is so amazingly friendly! 5 stars for Bountiful Orthodontics!

Bountiful orthodontics has been the best to me and have treated very well. They make sure my braces are doing what they need to and making sure I am doing what I need to do. They have made sure that I am getting the care that I need.

I love bountiful orthodontics!! Everyone is so friendly and kind. I started orthodontics treatment in the different state and wearing braces about a year but needed to move to UT last year. I was worry about finding new orthodontics office but am so glad to find bountiful orthodontics. The treatment was so smooth and my teeth move faster than I expected. I can see lots of progress. I will definitely come this office if my kids need orthodontics treatment:)!
