Dignity and Respect Health care practitioners listen to and honor patient and family perspectives and choices. Patient and family knowledge, values, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds are incorporated into the planning and delivery of care.

Information Sharing Health care practitioners communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and families in ways that are affirming and useful. Patients and families receive timely, complete, and accurate information in order to effectively participate in care and decision-making.

Collaboration Patients, families, health care practitioners, and health care leaders collaborate in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation; in facility design; and in professional education, as well as in the delivery of care.

Emory Healthcare's vision, to be recognized as the leading health care system in Atlanta and the Southeast, differentiated by discovery, innovation, and compassionate, patient-focused care, cannot be accomplished without full engagement from every member of our Emory Healthcare community. Together, we must ensure Emory Healthcare offers an environment that is inclusive and sensitive to the needs of our patients, families and our employees and provider teams without regard to race, color, gender, religion or sexual/gender orientations and expressions. By fostering a culture that embraces diversity and cultural competence, Emory Healthcare will dramatically improve the care we offer while further enhancing our commitment to our employees and provider teams.

Respect and Dignity We recognize and honor differences between ourselves, patients, families and our co-workers. We accept and understand differences in customs, values, beliefs, ethnicity, and patterns of thinking of our employees, provider teams, and patient population; as they relate to race, gender, age, class, sexuality, culture, nationality, disability, religion, and region.

Inclusion We encourage and compel the inclusion of diverse patients, families, employees and provider teams in policy and program development. We strive to provide equal opportunity for all, removing institutional barriers of exclusion and taking affirmative measures to include persons who might otherwise be excluded.

Collaboration We are sensitive to and knowledgeable about the diverse needs of our patients, families, employees and provider teams. We will enhance the delivery of care by being perceptive of the needs of our patients and families across social and cultural dimensions.

Celebration Integration of cultural competency and diversity leads to a positive work environment by fostering an atmosphere that recognizes and appreciates the differences in peoples, cultures, and beliefs. We will acknowledge and embrace these differences.

In embracing the concept of a fair and just culture, Emory Healthcare leadership is embracing an opportunity to bring our core values into expression and to help us keep our promise to our patients. We know that in order for staff, physicians and leaders to have the greatest impact on patient care and achieve the highest level of excellence possible, they must feel compelled and supported to speak about problems, errors, conflicts and misunderstandings in an environment where to do so with curiosity, honesty and respect is both a shared goal and a shared responsibility.

I have tried everything possible to correct my jaw deformity. It was as a result of a very old injury and was getting worse with time. Dr Bouloux and his team were excellent. They fixed my jaw with surgery. It was amazing to wake up with my teeth aligned for the first time in about 4 years. He has been a godsend.

Very dismissive of the chronic pain he has caused me. One side of my total joint replacements is bulging and protruding and when I tried to ask him about this, he was very rushed and did not explain to me what to expect after this surgery. When I wanted to speak to him again, he acted like I was crazy for wanting more clarity from him. He left his door wide open as I cried to him and every single employee (doctors included) looked into my room to hear what I was talking about. He cares about his money and once he gets it, he no longer is interested in your or providing proper care. I'm very disappointed and will be talking to the Medical Board if this. Stay clear of this man.

I had heard great things about Dr. Bouloux from colleagues around the country recommending him as one of the best TMJ surgeons in the nation. I'm a physician myself, and wanted to make sure I was in the best hands for a total joint replacement that has filled me with fear since my diagnosis. Dr. Bouloux is everything a patient would hope for in a physician - he was intelligent, compassionate, diligent, and gave me no doubt that he practices evidence-based medicine and would give me the best possible outcome for my surgery. I flew in from Austin, Texas just to see him and he went above and beyond to make sure my time was well spent and everything that could be taken care of for my case in a single visit was taken care of. As a physician myself, I learned a lot from my experience with him not only about the rare condition I have, but also about how to be a great physician with excellent bedside manner. I had seen various surgeons for consults on my case, and Dr. Bouloux was the only surgeon who left me feeling relieved and a weight of anxiety lifted knowing I was in the best hands. He truly has gone above and beyond for me, and for that I am extremely grateful and hope to pay that forward to my patients. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone in need of TMJ surgery.

Illegally files claims. Breached their contract with my insurance and did not send them all of claims as were promised in their contract. They were forcing me to pay out of pocket or they would terminate me for being different. I contacted Gary and he Messaged me and aided with them and ignored me requests to send the claim to my insurance. My insurance found out about them illegally holding claims and contacted them an weeks later they sent me a termination letter. (Their upper executives do not even know what pre authorization is. How do you work in the medical field and not know this)

My wife would tell you she had a tumor that destroyed her mandible and that Dr. Bouloux saved her face, is an excellent surgeon, and to say he is brilliant is an understatement. His staff and interns are extremely professional. Yes, they are busy; you have to wait. The wait is worth it.

I've been seeing Dr B for a while. I drive 3 hours each time. He spends about 2 minutes with me and I always feel rushed. I had major jaw reconstruction surgery and now I have more pain than before- it's unbearable and I take unpleasant medication daily for it. I'm only 33. I wish there was something more that could be done. We have talked about jaw replacement surgery, but this is so major and I feel like I haven't been given the time or attention to make an informed decision. I also am concerned with the residents' ability to stitch the face up well which results in one side of the face looking good and the other with an ugly scar. I think Dr B is a skilled surgeon and cares about his patients. I just wish I were receiving better care, and at this point I wish I had not received the surgery. -Lisa
