Dr. Michael H. Doerr was raised in Rapid City and graduated from St. Thomas More High School. He attended South Dakota State University, transferred to Augustana College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Biology. He worked full time as a dental assistant for a year while attending Western Dakota Technical Institute where he earned a certificate in Dental Assisting.
Pursuing his formal dental education, he attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, IL earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Upon graduation, Dr. Doerr received the Award of Excellence, the highest award given by the dental school for leadership, clinical skills, and academics. Since graduating, Dr. Doerr has been passionate about expanding his knowledge and skill set in dentistry and has been rigorously involved in continuing education through the Spear Dental Education Center.
Dr. Doerr is a standing member of the Black Hills District Dental Society, South Dakota Dental Association, American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and Faculty Club at Spear Dental Education.
Dr. Doerr enjoys spending time outside with his wife, Morgan, and their three children in the Black Hills and across South Dakota. As a family they enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, golfing, hunting and fishing.

Using state-of-the art equipment designed with safety and efficiency in mind, we are able to offer top-notch care. As you walk through our office, you will notice that everything is clean, comfortable and thoroughly sterilized. Your safety and comfort are our priority.
We know that the cost of care can be confusing. In addition to offering a number of in-office payment options to fit your budget, we also give you up-front cost information on your treatment ahead of time. We are happy to help you navigate your dental insurance and alternative payment options.
At Boulevard Dental, we are qualified to handle all aspects of your care, so you are always surrounded by people that you trust. If we must refer out, we promise to send you to carefully vetted colleagues who apply the same professional principles in their office that we do in ours.
We respect and understand that many patients experience dental anxiety. At our office, we do everything we can to make sure that your experience is as enjoyable as possible. By communicating clearly what you can expect during your treatment, we are often able to alleviate dental fear. We encourage you to bring headphones and music to listen to during your treatment and ask us about dental sedation options.

I usually hate going to the dentist, but this office put me at complete ease. I've honestly never had a dentist sit down and take the time to explain everything to me so clearly. Dr. Doerr and his staff were amazing! Highly recommend.

From front desk to hygienist, Boulevard dental is always great. Dr. Doerr and his staff are always welcoming and kind, answers questions when you're confused about something and takes care of you. I have nothing but good things to say about them, and would refer them to anyone looking for a dentist that will always keep you knowledgeable about what needs to be done to have a healthy set of teeth.

Excellent dental care. Dr. Hanson has been my dentist for many years and and is compassionate and kind. His staff is efficient and courteous. Dr. Hanson is an outstanding photographer and his work is displayed throughout the clinic.
