A high standard of care and orthodontic excellence begins with diagnostic records that arecomprehensive. Dr. Boucher has invested time and treasures to develop a protocol where all ofour patients are diagnosed in terms of the relationship of their teeth, the health of the boneand gum tissues supporting the teeth, the growth pattern of the jaws, the health of thetemporomandibular joints, the status of the airway, and the function of the tongue.

Our belief is that the orthodontic treatment we provide not only results in great smiles but withadded value in long term stability of the bite and the health of the surrounding tissue of thehead and neck.

Dr. Normand Boucher is a board certified orthodontist and an active member of the Angle Society. He practiced as a family dentist for five years before seeking specialty training in orthodontics and periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. The last twenty-nine years have been a rewarding balancing act between family life and his wife Lynda and daughters Anne-Marie and Patrice, the practice of orthodontics, teaching, volunteer work and a never-ending commitment to learning.

Dr. Boucher was appointed Chief of Orthodontics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital from 1982-1987. He subsequently established a full-time private practice in Wayne and Westtown in 1987. His teaching responsibilities with the orthodontic department at the University of Pennsylvania reflect the values of his private practice and include teaching diagnosis and treatment planning for the Six Elements of Orofacial Harmony Orthodontics Philosophy. This approach to treatment emphasizes the health and stability of the bite while achieving optimal aesthetic outcomes.

With his experience as a general dentist and additional training in the specialty of periodontics, Dr. Boucher is also recognized for his expertise in adult orthodontic treatment. His teaching responsibilities include the orthodontic management of the complex patient with multidisciplinary needs. Over the last decade, Dr. Boucher has received extensive training in hard and soft tissue imaging of the TMJ (temporomandibular joint). Since many TMJ patients have less than optimal bites that can contribute to their TMJ condition and facial pain pattern, this added clinical dimension has enhanced the level of patient care. This new direction led to the purchase of a low radiation, digital, three-dimensional imaging system to provide the state-of-the-art diagnostic capability for adolescents and adults.

Most recently, Dr. Boucher and the entire clinical staff completed a course in Myofunctional Therapy which is the study of the function of the tongue, swallowing, and speech. The principles of myofunctional therapy are now dovetailed into the orthodontic care of most of the adolescent and adult patients in his practice and provide added value to treatment outcomes by improving breathing, the health of the TMJs and the stability of the bite.

With a belief in the importance of giving back to his profession, Dr. Boucher has been active as a volunteer in orthodontics. He has served as President of the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontics, as a delegate to the American Association of Orthodontics, is currently a director with the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics and has recently been appointed to serve on the Council of Insurance with the American Association of Orthodontics. Locally, he has served as President of the Academy of Stomatology, President of the Main Line Dental Society and has served as a board member for the French International School of Philadelphia.

As Dr. Bouchers orthodontic practice evolved and required the support of a second orthodontic clinical assistant, Meg was highly recommended by her cousin, Amy Short, who was Dr. Bouchers first full-time employee. Meg was recommended on the basis of her strong work ethic, rock-solid reliability, and desire to work with people. Her background as a middle child in a family of seven children, headed by amother totally committed to the family and apolice officer father who rose to the rank of detective, provides insight into the skills andqualities she bringsto the team.Meg is the senior orthodontic assistant and supports the clinical staff in a supervisory capacity.

Following graduation from East Stroudsburg University, Lindsay was approached by Meg, a family friend, to consider training as a clinical orthodontic assistant. What began as a long-shot experiment evolved into a long-term commitment to a career path in whichshe excels with her clinical skills, and relationships with patients and her peers.Lindsays commitment to personal fitness ties in with Dr. Bouchers philosophy of comprehensive orthodontic care that addressesnot only aesthetic needs but the health of the entire head and neck area, including the TMJs, the cervical area, and surrounding musculature.Lindsay has completed advanced training in myofunctional therapy and has excellent teaching skills.

Dr. Boucher met herseveral years ago at the legendary Marrones Italian Restaurant in the heart of Ardmorewhere she functioned as the hostess.Impressed by the way she greeted the majority of patrons on a first-name basis, her personal interaction with them, and her commitment to serve all customers to the best of her ability, he recruited her to share the scheduling coordinators responsibilities with Florence.Jean proved to be a quick study and is now a vital contributor to the operation of the practice.

In despair the day after moving from Virginia when I could NOT pull my Invisalign retainer from my upper teeth, I called a few nearby dentists. None could help until I called this wonderful office and was told to come in. I'm not a patient here but I certainly was treated like one. Sam was able to extract the retainer and even offered to trim the edges so I wouldn't go home and have the same problem again. What a surprise! What unexpected kindness and expertise! I'm so appreciative. Thank you!

I have been a patient of Dr. Boucher for over 5 years now. Between splints , upper and lower braces and getting 2 bridges( elsewhere) it had taken that amount of time to complete my treatment. The cost and commitment were definitely not worth it. My teeth at best, are fair. Originally Dr. Boucher had recommended jaw surgery, which was not an option for me. I had asked if a good result would still be achieved with only the braces, and without hesitation he had said , YES. " When confronting Dr. Boucher recently , regarding my results and the money that I had spent , he sarcastically, under his breath commented that basically I should have paid more and for me not to be so hard on myself. Sounds like he was deflecting and didn't like the criticism. For the most part Dr. Boucher is a very nice person and a gentleman , no doubt. I had wishful thinking that I too , would have been completely happy with my results, and could have written a more positive review. On the brighter side, he has the nicest staff. The women in his office are super friendly , esp, Meg , Lyndsay and Effie.

Explains condition and treatment well. But pricing was much higher compared to others. Always get second opinion before committing.

Dr Boucher and his staff are personable and highly competent professionals. Over a period of two years, and for a very fair price, they completely corrected my misaligned teeth. I recommend them without reservation - this is a top notch orthodontic practice.

My 2 children and myself have all been with Dr. Boucher for orthodontics. He is the consummate professional and he knows what he is doing - both with braces for kids and TMJ treatment for me. I was in excruciating pain when I came to him and slowly but surely I am painfree and have a beautiful smile to go along with it. The staff who works with him are awesome and are a pleasure to work with. I have gotten many compliments on my smile and I am sure my kids will too. Dr. Boucher is brilliant, kind, and caring and is always willing to take the time to explain despite a very busy practice. I highly recommend this practice.

I'm so grateful for finding Dr. Boucher and his team!! Dr. Boucher is competent, skilled in his craft and caring. I had started treatment with another orthodontist for a cross bite. After 5 frustrating years of trying to correct the cross bite with braces and having zero results, I went to Dr. Boucher for a second opinion and he was able to correct my cross bite with braces in under 2 years! I wish I would have met him sooner! Thank you, Dr. Boucher, for correcting my smile. Highly recommend!
