Botsford Dental - Cosmetic dentist in Medford, OR

Being a dentist means I get to help people achieve happiness, comfort and confidence in their smiles! I strive to provide excellence in dental care and treat my patients the way I would treat my family. Being able to practice in my hometown means I get to make an impact in the community that I was fortunate enough to grow up in. My goal is to provide each of my patients with gentle, personalized and affordable care, using the most up-to-date technologies, in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.

I received a Bachelor of Science in General Science with minors in Business and Chemistry from Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southern Oregon University. In 2016, I graduated from Roseman University of Health Sciences with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine where I received the award of Lifelong Colleague, a title voted on by my 78 classmates. As a Southern Oregon native, I was also a student of the same schools that many of your children have attended in the past or may attend now - Sacred Heart, Hedrick and South Medford High school.

When Im not practicing dentistry, you can most likely bet that Im spending time with my family. My wife, Keyan, and I met in dental school and she is also a dentist! Together we have a one year old son, Tate, and a chocolate lab, Hobbes. We love to spend time outdoors- rafting, camping, hiking, skiing, you name it. I was fortunate enough to have spent 11 years as a whitewater raft guide in between my studies and cant wait for Tate to grow big enough to take him down his first big white water trip! With Oregon State as my Alma mater, Im also a devout Beavers fan. Having planted our roots now back in Oregon, Im looking forward to attending home games once again. What a wonderful feeling it is to be back in the beautiful Rogue Valley!

I grew up traveling around the world. Our family of 8 lived in 7 different states and 4 countries (Japan, England, France and Germany) while I was growing up. I received my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Florida. Go GATORS!! I have continued taking classes at SOU and love it.

I moved here to the Rogue Valley in 1976 where I raised a beautiful family on our 16 acre ranch off Wagner Creek. My girls, their families and my 6 grandchildren (how did that happen??) live here in the Rogue Valley. In 2002 my husband and I moved into Medford. Now when I am not at work, I have time with the grandchildren, snow skiing, sailing, traveling or riding my Paint horse.

I am very fortunate to work in a high quality, compassionate and fun practice. I will have the pleasure of greeting you when you walk in the door and hope to help you feel welcome. I enjoy tennis, playing piano, long walks with my Boxer (Dexter), camping, cooking, entertaining, traveling and anything that includes our family.

My name is Ashley, I joined Dr. Meyerdings staff in April 2014 as a dental assistant. I graduated from Southern Oregon Dental Assistant Education, taught by Deb Silva, in the spring of 2014. My love and passion for my new profession has only continued to grow as I work with patients on a daily basis. It is my goal to help make every patient feel as comfortable as possible, and make each experience here a positive and enjoyable one. I love helping to educate and motivate patients about their oral health.

I grew up outside of the City of Rogue River, and have lived in the valley most of my life. I spent a few years in Corvallis after high school studying Interior Design. I decided to change career directions when I discovered I had a baby on the way. I moved back to Rogue River in 2011, and still reside there with my boyfriend of eight years and our beautiful three year old son.

Root Canal Treatment in Medford, OregonA common belief Medford patients have is that extraction is the only option for a tooth with internal nerve damage. In some cases, Dr. Paul Botsford at Botsford Dental may recommend root canal treatment to save a tooth affected by decay or infection. Through this treatment option, the genuine function of your natural tooth is preserved without altering the rest of your smile. When Should You Consider Root Canal Treatment? The root canal is present inside each tooth, containing the nerves and living tissue, also known as dental pulp, which determines the health of your smile. Potentially irreversible damage can occur to these necessary components when decay and infection occur within this chamber. Infected pulp may be the result of a number of factors, including poor hygiene, cavities, or facial trauma, and can contribute to greater dental health concerns. Root canal treatment clears out sources of harm, conserving your natural dentition while preventing more serious issues from developing.

Some of the patients to our Medford dental practice were unaware they needed root canal treatment until undergoing a dental exam with Dr. While symptoms may not always be present, Dr. Paul Botsford recommends seeking immediate professional evaluation if you experience any of the following:

During root canal treatment, the affected tooth is numbed and surrounded by a dental dam to keep the area free of saliva. Specialized dental instruments are then used to create a small hole behind the tooth, through which infected pulp and bacteria is removed. As part of this comprehensive approach, any dental decay observed during the procedure will also receive care.

To prevent recurrence of infection, the roots of a treated tooth will be sterilized, sealed, and filled with a biocompatible material called gutta percha. Additionally, a filling will be placed to cover the opening made to access the root canal. In order to lend additional strength and cosmetic appeal to teeth that have received treatment, Paul Botford may recommend crown placement.

Following root canal therapy, it is normal to experience moderate sensitivity while the healing process takes place. Patients to Paul Botsford should schedule a follow-up visit as soon as possible if this feeling does not eventually subside or becomes more persistent. Even when there are no outstanding issues, routine dental visits allow Paul Botsford to provide care that ensures the long-term success of the treatment.
