Dr. Nevins graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, then earned his Certificate for Graduate Training in Periodontology and a Master of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He is internationally renowned as a leader in his field, has served on numerous major professional committees and regularly conducts peer-education lectures and training sessions.
Dr. Nevins has served as Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry since 2011. In addition to his education and service, Dr. Nevins is a two-time winner of the American Academy of Periodontologys R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award and is a 2017 recipient of the Clinical Research Award for the publication of A randomized, controlled, multicenter clinical trial of post-extraction alveolar ridge preservation.

Dr. Julie Mitchell is a Diplomate of The American Board of Prosthodontics. She received her DMD degree cum laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2011 and went on to earn a Master of Science in Prosthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014. Dr. Mitchell achieved board certification at the earliest opportunity and now focuses on challenging esthetic cases and dental implant-supported restorations.
She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a former lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, researcher and published author in the Journal of Applied Oral Sciences and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. She is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Mitchell is committed to both the preservation of natural dentition as well as the predictable longevity that implant restorations offer. She is compassionate, empathetic and makes her patients feel comfortable during every visit. Kirsi Savusalo, DMD, graduated with honors from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and the University of Oulu Institute of Dental Medicine, Finland. Dr. Savusalo practiced general dentistry in Finland before moving to Massachusetts. She earned her DMD and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Boston University of Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 1999 and 2001, respectively. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society and Finnish Dental Association. She dedicates time every year to continuing education and has practiced orthodontics to the highest standards since 2001.
Dr. Savusalo is dedicated to providing adults and children with the finest quality orthodontic treatment in a professional and friendly environment. She delivers expertise and care with the latest advances, a high degree of detail, and personal attention to each patient. Her goal is to create good health and beautiful esthetics with the best possible dental and facial orthodontic outcomes.

Dr. Ami Amini-Salari is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who completed her surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School Oral Maxillofacial Surgery residency program. She applies the most advanced knowledge and skillset in her practice and specializes in dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom teeth removal, dental/zygomatic implants, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, facial cosmetics, and general/IV anesthesia.
Dr. Amini-Salari earned a Ph.D. in bone tissue engineering and regeneration. She has published her work in top-tiered medical journals and presented her work at national and international conferences. Dr. Amini-Salari is an active member of the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Massachusetts Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Massachusetts Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Multispecialty Society. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Dr. Zena Al-Adeeb received her DMD degree from Boston University in 2003, graduating with honors. She completed her certificate in Endodontics from Boston University in 2006. Dr. Al-Adeeb keeps current on technological advances in Endodontics, including the latest techniques in instrumentation, use of surgical operating microscopy, digital radiography and 3D imaging. Her treatment philosophy is to listen to and prioritize patients needs. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, Massachusetts Association of Endodontics, Massachusetts Dental Society, and American Dental Association.
Modern periodontal therapy is focused on regenerative approaches with the least invasive techniques to reestablish periodontal health. Dr. Nevins is an innovator in both biomaterial regeneration and laser techniques.
Esthetic periodontal treatments often focus on providing root coverage as a treatment for recession. Dr. Nevins will identify whether your condition is best treated with a connective tissue graph or Alloderm (donor tissue).
Dr. Nevins did a thorough review of my medical history and then gave me an exam. We were able to define a first step that made sense. He also put to rest some of the fears that had been caused by the first provider.
I came to Dr. Nevins for a second opinion and was very impressed with the level of detail explaining the options and the pros/cons. They spent a lot of time trying to get to the right answer and to make sure I understood the issues.

I have never even had a cavity in my life, but last year I was informed I had an issue hidden underneath that would result in my front tooth destroying itself and needing to be removed. I was extremely stressed with the thought of losing my front tooth, but I am so grateful I discovered Dr. Nevin's office as I searched for help with my tooth removal and implant. Dr. Nevin and team were incredibly professional and caring provided me with the best care possible. My implant looks perfect and I am eating and smiling as always. No one can tell the difference. If you are reading this, you have arrived. I can attest that this practice is owned and operated by the absolute leader in his craft. I consulted with Dr. Nevins on an implant, as dental leadership of the prior generation told me that Marc was my mouth's lifetime insurance policy. Think about that. A major figure in Tufts Dental School leadership and instruction who had Boston's highest quality dental and perio practice telling me this about Nevins, inside the walls of his own practice. Nevins is revered. What I needed was actually much simpler than an implant, but no one else ever mentioned canalling options. They did. They are not a practice that sells at all. They share knowledge and options. It's not like this at most places. If you need a root canal, night guard, cleaning, etc., you can make this your primary practice, and they can find you a dentist to partner with Nevins. Remember, quality matters. This practice feels posh, and it is top tier. However, the prices on two major services were actually in line with the region. They are not a mill. They are not fast-paced. They are lovely people, too. The best staff without one weak link. I've never had such a great customer journey in my life. The work was meticulously done, and that is not opinion. The images and outcomes were amazing. If you have perio or cosmetic needs, also know they do much more. Never make the kind of services you get here subsidiary to your dentist. Anchor yourself to Nevins, and you can then get the "best dentist" for whatever your particular dental need at that time. Wow. An array of choices! Next, their referrals are respected and expected, and they can act to get you in fast. In other words, instead of having one dentist, this practice can refer you into dental practices based on who is best for the need. That said, the process is simple, and you don't have to integrate into that dentist for a cleaning or exam first. Most people would not refer you out for a service they do in-house. To get one minor service done sooner, they were willing to send the business out. As it was not clinically necessary, I stuck with Nevins. The reason they offered is because they thought I wanted it done sooner. Wow. They were willing to send the money elsewhere to make the patient happy. The other thing I love is the element of service in every aspect. The entire front of the house is smooth, courteous, and warm. All patients seem to feel like family. It's a whole new world in there. I am 100% satisfied. I am 100% delighted, too. I have completed numerous transactions and interactions by now. All have gone well. As for hands, you need a good set of hands in dentistry. There are a lot of big thumbs in Boston dentistry. The dental staff here were gifted with craftsperson hands. The sitting area draws patients into comfort, and everything here feels like walking on clouds. Dr. Nevins was also patient with me, and even took the time out of two weekends to make me assured. I really just wish everything felt this great!

I came to this office in a need to do tooth extraction and grafting. During the surgery doctor Nevins made me feel very comfortable. I felt very limited discomfort and was quite surprised when he told me that the surgery is over. Overall, the procedure was painless and went extremely well. The recovery was also incredible. I did not have any pain after the surgery, just small discomfort the next day. Doctor Nevins is an excellent dentist and oral surgeon! All office staff were very pleasant and super helpful. I rescheduled my appointment several times due to family circumstances. Monique from the reception office was very helpful in scheduling my appointment in a short notice. She squeezed me in to doctor's very busy schedule to ensure that my surgery will be completed before the winter break. Veronica, doctor's assistant, was very supportive and kind. She was willing to help any time during the surgery.

I'm from New York, and Dr. Nevins was recommended to me by the surgeon who did my bone graft. I needed a pretty extensive gum graft on the upper left side of my mouth due to a cleft lip and palate. Though the drive was pretty far, it was well worth it. Dr. Nevins was able to complete the gum graft and for the first time in my life, my gum looks normal. The procedure went very well and I was comfortable throughout. Dr. Nevins and his staff were very helpful and responsive throughout the entire procedure and healing period. I would highly recommend Dr. Nevins to anyone who has a complicated dental issue.

I had a severe periodontal disease and as a result needed several surgeries: extraction of 10 teeth, bone graft, gum graft, tissue regeneration, sinus lift, placing 5 implants - everything went excellent, painless. Dr. Nevins is the best, very professional. Dr. Mitchell did an excellent job with my 5 temporary crowns, looks amazing. I'm happy with the result. I highly recommend The Nevins Dental Center to anyone with any kind of oral troubles.

After a referral from a friend, I went to Dr Nevins in 2017 for a second opinion. The dentist I had seen previous, advised me to extract a molar that was "cracked". After my exam with Dr. Nevins, it was his opinion that the tooth could actually be saved. He referred me to a prosthodontist who was able to solve my pain without the need for surgery. With the help of Dr. Nevins' team and the network of experts he introduced me to, I have been able to get on the right track to restoring (and ultimately saving) multiple teeth that would have otherwise been lost due to decay as a result of previous faulty dental work. Over the last few years I have had a bone graft and implant and a separate tooth extracted in Dr. Nevins' office. I have been impressed by his willingness to communicate with other dentists regarding my individualized care plan. He was very informative about the process and I found his dental assistants to be emotionally supportive during all the procedures as well. I don't think dental surgery is really on anyone's list of enjoyable activities, but I know I am in great hands when I do have to have a procedure. I would recommend his practice to anyone who is looking for a periodontist.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nevins for about three years now. The treatment I receive is professional and of the highest quality. After sheltering in place for three months, I was a bit uncertain about going for a cleaning and checkup. I am so pleased I did! From the moment I stepped into the office until I left, everything was so well thought out. The protocols adhered to are above and beyond anything I expected. They did everything to make me feel at ease and safe. Very impressive. Kudos to Dr. Nevins and his entire staff!!!

At this practice, they have the most wonderful nurses; especially Michelle and Sarah. They have incredible kindness and care. Dr. Nevins is one of the most professional dentists I have ever been to. Top quality service I have been a patient of The Nevins Group for over a year now and I am so grateful that I was lead to this office. Today I had my teeth deep cleaned by Joanne who told me everything I would feel and goes through. She did such a great job. I have always been met with the nicest professionals who have done top quality work on me. The staff is so down to earth and friendly. I feel I am always in good hands which makes me at ease. I never care that I travel quite a few miles to get there. YOU ARE ALL WORTH IT!!! I recommend you to anyone I know having any kind of oral troubles. I already had a friend go to you and he was very impressed and is glad he took my advice. I have another friend coming soon for the first time and I know she will be glad to have gone to experience the high quality professionals and friendly staff.

Dr Nevins is by far the best in his field. I have had three tooth extractions, a sinus lift, and most recently an implant performed by Dr Nevins and the results have been exactly what I had hoped for. Painless procedures, fast healing time, minimal discomfort afterward. Dr. Nevins is incredibly thorough and very precise in the work he performs. Fantastic use of modern technology - CT scan, guided tooth mold, advanced instruments - all partnering with Dr. Nevins' skillful hand. Based on Dr. Nevins' prep work prior to the surgery, my most recent implant surgery was painless, quick, precise, and I feel incredibly confident this implant will be a success. As a patient with significant dental phobia, Dr Nevins and his staff have also been incredibly compassionate and worked to ensure my comfort. They even remember situations that have made me uncomfortable in the past and talk me through what will be happening before the procedure to help calm my nerves!
