Dr. Richard Hong is a native Northern Virginian and grew up in McLean, Virginia. After graduating from Langley High School, he attended the Johns Hopkins University for his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Then Dr. Hong went on to receive his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating dental school, he was accepted into Harvard Universitys General Practice Residency Program, providing dental care to medically compromised patients at Brigham and Womens Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Hong is passionate about providing the best dental care to all of his patients. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society and the Virginia Dental Association. Dr. Hong attends many seminars throughout the year to stay abreast with the latest dental technology.Dr. Hong offers Invisalign clear braces and LUMINEERS porcelain veneers, and is adept in all aspects of dentistry, including but not limited to root canal therapy, implants, crowns and bridges, dentures, pediatric dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Hong used to be a daily cartoonist for a newspaper and continues to create cartoons as a hobby. When not working,he enjoys spending time with his wife, who is a pediatrician, and his two children.

I have lived in over 10 countries and experienced the gamut of dentistry and Dr Hong is the best dentist I've ever had. Hand down. The level of professionalism and personal attention to detail is astounding. Dr. Hong is sets the precedent for me for all dental care, and no one else holds A CANDLE to the quality of care his office provides. Highly recommend.

I've been receiving dental care from Dr. Hong since I was a child. He has always taken the best care of me and my family. His staff demonstrate the utmost level of professionalism and kindness. I love going to the dentist because of how positive my experiences have been there.

I've been seeing Dr. Hong for over ten years and he is the best! Very patient, never pushy, doesn't try to up sell you on treatments that are unnecessary. His staff are very pleasant as well. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting a great dental practice

My favorite dentist moved to LA. I was in a mourning period then had to see a dentist for over two years. I was not quite comfortable with the office staff so I stopped going for two years. I know, that was bad. Then I had a grinding problem which forced me to look for a dentist. Dr. Hong and his staff are very kind. He ends up being my family dentist. He is quite busy so be prepared to wait 6 months for the first cleaning. He will take you in for emergency dental work but cleaning and x-rays appointments are scheduled 6 months in advance so be patient. I am glad to have Dr. Hong as my new Dentist. Oh the staff are super too.

I am grateful I was refereed to Boone Dental. Dr. Hong is outstanding and very knowledgeable. He takes his time and answers all of your questions. Dr. Hong cares very much about his patients' well-being. He is absolutely the best dentist I have ever met! His staff is exceptional and comforting. I would highly recommend this office to all your friends and family.

Friendly, professional, and helpful. Edit: had to cancel an appointment due to travel, and Dr Hong has become so popular that he is scheduled for many months in advance now. I'm happy for him and think he is great, but I will need to find another office that can provide a visit in a more reasonable timeframe.

After 20 years, I needed a dentist. Instead of reading me the riot act, Dr. Hong patiently and with empathy walked through all the required next steps to stabilize the teeth. No fire bells. No sirens. Rather a calm and soft spoken discussion of options. Like many of you, I dreaded my visit to the dentist. I can honestly say that after my third visit in as many weeks, faith has been restored and the credit goes to Dr. Hong and his staff of consummate professionals. It takes a lot to impress me and Dr. Hong has done so. I echo all the other comments by reviewers. He is as good as they come. Bravo and thank you!

You know your dentist is pationate when he calls you 3 days after you already called in to tell him your temp crown fell off. He says I've got a spot today at 11:45 to get you fixed can you come in? Got to love it! If you're looking for a super person who really cares about your teeth and will always do the right thing for you, Richard Hong is your guy. I've been going to him for several years now and he's exceptional. In fact, the best dentist I have ever had. If you're at all skeptical, I strongly urge you to check him and his practice out. Everyone is super nice and actually cares about you and your dental heath. 10 Stars, come on google 5? really? Happy dental visits with this guy!

Dr. Hong is awesome! So friendly and professional every time I go there. I wanted to get my teeth whitened for my wedding and he told me my teeth were white enough and I didn't need it. Any other dentist would have gladly taken my money, so something about that really impressed me that he truly cares!!

He's a five star dentist. Super smart and a perfectionist. Takes a lot to impress me and Dr Hong does that every time. My whole entire family goes to him. We are not easily impressed But we all love him!

Went to Dr. Hong for the first time this past week as a new patient- and he was incredible! His dental hygenist was super thorough and careful, and made sure to explain every step of the teeth cleaning process to me as well as check up on me consistently to ensure my comfort during treatment. Dr. Hong himself was super friendly and thorough as well. He walked me through his assessment of my teeth and xrays, identified issues and potential future issues with my teeth, and presented a recommendation for future treatment that he carefully explained. I'm definitely going back!
