There is a reason this practice has a 2.0 star rating on Google. Do not waste your time or money on this practice. My mother has been taking me to the dentist since I was seven, I am very aware of the dynamic of how you should be treated and how dental practices should work. We initially went to Dr. Bonner this August '22 in the form of a referral. If you are a person that likes to have a family member or person of support go with you into the assessment/procedure room, RUN, run as fast as you can. This office does not allow a plus one into the room with you, the only part of their micro size practice that a plus one is allowed is at the Front Desk. I went in to get my tooth looked at after I had been suffering some major pain in one specific tooth and Dr. Bonner and his assistant concluded that I needed a root canal after some x-rays. Neither Dr. Bonner or his assistant said exactly what the cause was, because it could not be determined. He told us that it could be a number of things and best just get the root canal done. So the root canal was done on that tooth. To sum up trying to get the crown after the root canal, my General Dentist could not figure out why I was still in pain and recommended I call Dr. Bonner back. We go back to Bonner to try and figure out the issue. During the entire assessment it was very obvious that both the assistant and Dr. Bonner were dead set on convincing me that the cause of the pain was everything BUT the tooth they had just done the root canal on. I was told things like, "there is just NO WAY that the tooth we did a root canal on can have pain because the root is dead", "it must be a surrounding tooth", "I'm certain that it's not the tooth we worked on" and just a general feeling that they have no idea and quite frankly didn't care to figure it out either. Dr. Bonner and his assistant felt very up tight when I was telling them, this is the tooth, I was pointing at the exact cause of the pain, which is the tooth that the root canal was performed on. Both of them, just continued to deny, I ended up saying ver batim, "I don't care if it's the tooth that you worked on or not, if it isn't, okay, if it's is the root canal tooth, I just want the pain to stop, please.". Jesus in Heaven, after I said that, both of them clammed up and did not like that I said that. End result of that visit was, prescribed antibiotics and wait and see. No information besides that. Just, take the pills, there's nothing further we can do. So we spent 2K on a root canal for terrible service and no answers and I'm left walking to our car with pain, if not worse than when I first went into their office. My husband I ended scheduling a visit with South Texas Endodontics, and THANK GOD we did. To sum it up, South Texas Endodontics staff, office and the Doctor I was treated by turned this entire experience around. The staff at STE was extremely friendly and helpful, after diagnosing the issue, they explained everything to me in a friendly and detailed manner. Plus - my husband was allowed with me and even had a great conversation with the DMD. Unlike my visit with Dr. Bonners office, the staff at STE, actually cares for their patients and not just getting paid. STE ended up doing way more scans and x-ray work than Bonners office, and low and behold the cause of the pain was determined. The pain I have been suffering for five plus weeks WAS INDEED decay at the root of the tooth that the root canal was performed on. So the last visit we had with Bonner and them denying it was that tooth was in fact a huge mistake on their end, Dr. Bonner and assistant - it is the root canal tooth, decay at the root with clear and present evidence in the form of a digital scan. My husband and myself will never return to Dr. Bonners office and have permanently switched to South Texas Endodontics, and I would recommend if you've made it this far into the review that you take my word for it to book your appointment with STE and stay far away from Bonner Endodontic Center. First hand experience with this practice, do not let them treat you. Do not waste your hard earned money with Bonner Endodontics. Worst practice in the state of Texas. Tiny practice, out dated equipment and unfriendly staff. I have had lots of dental work done in my pre teen, teen, and adult life, this practice is by far the worst ever dental specialist I have ever been treated by. The entire staff needs much needed Staff Outing or Staff Appreciation Day. They are all grumpy and I'm sure for good reason, a bad work environment. I would recommend the South Texas Endodontics.

After the Dr started working on my tooth he determined he could not fix it. The crown that was on the tooth came off when he gave it a tug. They put a temporary filling on the tooth and sent me on my way. I was charged 595 for the visit, the insurance company will not reimburse because the procedure was not complete. This was after a consultation visit I payed 100 dollars for.

The one star is only to represent the cleanliness of the sterile shared tri-office space. It's cold setting, with seating arrangements placed well over the 6 ft mandate. Everyone's temperature is checked by receptionists who leave their masks off. The demanding demeanor of Dr Bonner and his 'team' would make even a casual office evaluation feel threatening. The assistant is rude, rough, and demanding. When I asked to listen to music with my head phones on during the root canal Dr Bonner threw up his hands and said he wouldn't be doing the procedure today because I was acting so nervous. I told him that I wasn't acting nervous-the meds were working, it did ask again to have my earbuds in. I reminded him that I had been having pain for since 10/1 and didn't know when I could come back, I had also taken the anxiolytics they prescribe everyone, only I had taken them 20 min late. I think that when I called the office to let them know I'd taken the medications late, he had already made the decision then to cancel my procedure. Dr. Bonner may look professional, but he's extremely condescending, rude, demanding, and manipulative.

Doc was pretty nice and chill as well as the staff and appointment lady. Exam was same price range as anyone's (100 ballpark) and i was referred by my dentist at smile magic. Dr. Bonner did some x rays and told me my teeth 2 & 5 weren't good and one wasn't even savable thru root canal due to my past neglect of those teeth, lots of rust and bender friendly analogy haha. the one he could save they scheduled me for the following week. Said to have a DD (Driver) and take some of the prescription an hour before and bring the rest. I totally had doubt about the medicine being not strong enough due to my medical history but nope they were right. started to get anxious and the nurse noticed and was very comforting. have me extra blankets (but they allow you to being your own which is cool) but no hoodies (material gets in way). once they numbed my mouth and the pills were in track, it was like being asleep with my hearing. most of the procedure was painless and they numbed me just right, maybe felt two slight pressure pains but weren't long (think it was the shots of lidocaine idk i was out of it) and i was ok. best thing i hardly heard the grinders or other tools. there was a miscommunication barrier about the price but they were cool and met me half way on how to receive my balance same day. lil costly for me it was about 1300-1600 just for the one canal. but staff and meds were worth it.
