Dr. Bruce Newcomb was born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho. After graduating from Twin Falls High School, he attended Willamette College for one year, then transferred to the College of Idaho, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors. He went on to dental school at Creighton University School of Dentistry, where he also graduated with honors. Dr. Newcomb did his endodontic residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Newcomb loves living in the Boise Valley with his wife Julie, and their three children. He gives back to the Boise community by being involved with Ducks Unlimited and the Lion's Club. Dr. Newcomb is a member of the Southwest District Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Hilary Dunstan was born and raised in Boise, ID and has practiced endodontics in Boise since 2006. She attended Boise High School and then earned her Bachelors Degree with honors from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington in 1998. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2003. Dr. Dunstan graduated from Creighton with honors and also received numerous awards upon graduation including Student Achievement Award in Endodontics, recognition by the American Association of Women Dentists, and membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Society. She then attended the University of Southern California and completed a one year program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Dr. Dunstan attended the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky for specialty endodontic training. There she received training in the latest techniques and technology including use of the operating microscope and digital radiography. Upon completion of the program in 2006 Dr. Dunstan was awarded both a Certificate in Endodontics as well as a Masters in Oral Biology.
Dr. Dunstan was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to Idaho to practice and raise a family. She spends most of her free time with her husband, Brian, a general dentist at the Boise VA, and her daughter Gwendalyn and son Zane. They can often be found on the ski slopes in winter or cycling one of the many trails in the foothills during the summer.

I had my root canal fixed here and I am very satisfied! Highly recommend this place!

Whoever is answering the phone is completely rude. I asked her if she can see if my insurance is in network with their office so I can so if it be a good choice to schedule a root canal with them and I got a snotty reply of "why don't you give your insurance a call and find out yourself" it's enough I'm in pain and can barely speak, dealing with a rude front desk person was just great. Entire phone call she just didn't want to help at all.

Great Covid protocols. Hilary Dunstan is a rock-star endodontist, and Lisa at the front desk is friendly and conscience for billing and health concerns... I can't give enough of a glowing review for this office. Impressive, doesn't even begin to convey my regards for their solid work. I've never seen a dentist or endodontist offer a no cost follow up since my dentist in Oregon. That is a level of service that should not be taken for granted.

I am 100% the biggest baby when it comes to dental work but Hilary And Shannon were an amazing team during my recent and first root canal! Disappointed Hilary can't be my regular dentist. Phenomenally personable, comforting and thorough!

I had a great experience here! The dr told me exactly what was happening every step of the way, and they went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable during my revision root canal. Seriously, if you've had bad experiences in the past (like I have), this place will ease all your fears and anxiety! ;-)

I hope I don't have to go back, but if I do have any more tooth issues this is where I will go. My tooth is fixed and without problems. My dentist sent me to them because he thinks they are the best and he was right. Thanks for fixing my money pit of a tooth.

I had rather an urgent situation, and the office worked me in the same day as the referral from my dentist. You have a lot of stuff in your mouth while they do the root canal, and some of the sounds are kind of annoying, but I can say that Dr. Dunstan made it 100% painless. She explained everything well and even had me laughing a couple of times. She prescribed pain pills for any discomfort I had after deadening wore off, but I didn't need them. I only took ibuprofen one time. The only thing that hurt was my pocket book! Ouch.

Dr. Dunstan was absolutely amazing! Dentist offices have always given me anxiety and she made me feel comfortable during my root canal. A couple month after my root canal I started feeling pain so I went back. I was relieved to find out there was no issue with the root canal, it was my gums inflamed. A year after my root canal, I started getting a tooth ache in which felt like the tooth I had my root canal. I was very nervous going back, I could only imagine the worse. I got braces a week ago and my bite is being adjusted due to the braces. I was so thankful that Dr. Dunstan didn't take advantage of me or my sore teeth by "finding" issues that needed addressed. I would recommend her and the crew at Boise Endodontics.
