Dr. McGuffie is originally from Long Island, New York. He spent four years as a U.S. Army Infantry Paratrooper, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal,the Army Achievement Medal, and three Certificates of Achievement. Hewas honorably discharged in 1986.
In 1990 Dr. McGuffie received a B.S. inElectrical Engineering fromFlorida Atlantic University. He was awarded the Outstanding Science Student Award. Working as a dental assistant while attending FAU, he found many mentors who encouraged him to continue his workin the dental field.
Dr. McGuffie graduated fromthe University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1999. He won several awards includingThe Quintessence Publishing Award for Outstanding Achievement in Operative Dentistry,The American College of Prosthodonticsaward forOutstanding Undergraduate Achievement in Prosthodontics, andThe Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award.
Dr.McGuffie established a very successful private practice on Marco Island, Florida,with an emphasis on Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. In 2014 he sold this practice, returning to Boca Ratonso that he could be closer to hisfamily and friends.Boca Dental Artscontinues his commitmentto ensure the same professional and individualized patient care for the Boca Raton community.
Dr. McGuffie is a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), and maintains hundreds of hours of continuing education, with the majority in Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association,FloridaDental Association, and SouthPalm Beach County Dental Association.
In addition to being a highly trained professional, Dr. McGuffie is particularlyskilled in the fields of cosmetic and implant dentistry, utilizinghis creative skills and integrityto restore beautiful smiles.
Dr. McGuffie and his wife, Debra, have been happily married for 25years and havea lovely teenage daughter. When he isn't crafting gorgeous smiles , Dr. McGuffie plays competitive racquetball. Boca Dental Arts is theirfamily business and passion. Together, they welcome your family into their practice.

I was so impressed with the welcoming feeling as I entered and from there it escalated into one of the best experiences I've had at any dentist's office. Debbie is amazing and Dr Mcguffie was so gentle. I highly recommend them for any procedure you are getting done!

So I am new to Boca Raton and looking to transfer my dental trust to someone new. Very Scary!! However, from the moment I talked to Debby at Boca Dental Arts I knew I had found my new dental home! I then met Dr. MacGuffie and any doubts I may have had were GONE! We set up an appointment for a cleaning and put together a plan to take care of some issues I have. This has been a positive experience all around and I truly feel like I have found friends as well! I can't say enough about the personal attention, the service, and the thoughtful and skilled treatment you will find here. I wish there were 6 stars!

I'm usually not one to write reviews, however after dealing with Dr. Axel and Debbie, I just felt the need to praise them. Let's be honest, going to the dentist is usually not the most pleasant experience. I have never dealt with a more compassionate, caring and professional Dentist in my life. Dr. Axel has this down to earth, confident and calming demeanor, that just puts you at ease. His work is impeccable and exceptional ... and the best part ... pain free. Debbie, is the most accommodating assistant EVER ... she's the Rockstar that runs and coordinates everything for Dr. Axel. I would highly recommend using Boca Dental Arts for all your dental needs ... Simply put ... They're the Best !!!

I first met Dr. Axel McGuffie when he did a complete reconstruction of my husband's teeth, including bone grafts, and implants to secure snap-in dentures. The results were excellent and my husband was pleased by how gentle and patient Dr. McGuffie was. the fit is so good that my husband forgets they are dentures. Dr. McGuffie was my first choice for my own extensive dental work which involved implants, crowns and veneers. Dr. McGuffie did an excellent job with the crowns and designing and installing the veneers. They fit perfectly, look natural and match the color and shape of my own teeth very well. He patiently adjusted my bite until I felt it was perfect: I am very particular. He is very kind, patient and a perfectionist and provides excellent after-care which included well fitted mouth guards. The office is spotless and very well run. The appointments are on time and the staffing is excellent. I highly recommend Boca Dental Arts.

Dr. McGuffie came highly recommended and he and his staff did not disappoint! They have a caring chair side manner that everyone would welcome and their expertise is obvious to the patient as they work. They are kind and have a good sense of humor as they interact with you. Mostly, it is refreshing how they take that extra step to keep you informed by providing you with a treatment plan and necessary referrals for like minded practices. I am thrilled to be getting back on track with my dental care after a very bad experience that left me without a dentist and anxiety. I am more than thrilled to have found this group for my dental care!

Professional, clean, welcoming. My dental cleaning was efficient and thorough. The chairs were also a nice touch, once laying back, a relaxing massage is given without interfering with the appointment.

Last night I went our to eat and while taking a bite into my delicious sushi I felt a crack in my mouth. Oh NO! My veneer cracked off from my front tooth. I looked like a fool with my front tooth missing until.... I called Boca Dental Arts!! Within 1 hour I had an appointment scheduled and Doc fixed me looking great, just like new! I want to give a shout out to Debbie the do it all, she was beyond helpful. Def Recommend this Dentists office

I'm so happy with the service that I got from Boca Dental Arts. Dr.Guffie is great on his job plus the sweetest person I've ever met :) Everything was quick, painless and he explained all the details and made me so comfortable. My appointments are always on time and the quality is the best I've had my entire life. I would say the same things for his Assistance Debbie who helped me whenever I needed it and made me feel so comfortable. She also took care of my night guard and I'm so happy with that service too. What else we need right? :)Even if doctors are not precisely God, they sometimes possess a godlike quality... I'll definitely be back and will recommend my loved ones here! After moving to Florida from NJ almost 5 years ago, and after three horrific dental experiences with three different practices, I finally found a dentist that is not only highly competent, but so gentle that he may have actually cured my lifelong fear of dentists (60 plus years worth)! Not only is the Doctor great, but so Debbie, who runs the office and also assists the doctor as well as their great hygienist! So if you have recently relocated to Florida from another state, don't waste your time being someone's experiment, as I did! Go right to Boca Dental Arts and let Dr. McGuffie handle your dental needs. I can't say enough about him and his staff! Thank you Dr. McGuffie! You are the best!

Best dentist I have ever been to. Everyone is extremely nice and caring. It is hard to find a dental practice who really cares for their patients. I had to get a filling for the first time and I was so nervous. Dr. McGuffie and Debbie made me feel so comfortable and answered all of my questions. Debbie goes above and beyond always. The office is always so clean, and peaceful. I am so happy my neighbors referred me to the best dentist out there. I highly recommend going to see Debbie and Dr. McGuffie.

Let me 1st start out buy saying going into any Dentist office in the last 42 years of my life has caused me incredible anxiety.. After moving to FL I knew I need my teeth cleaned, a few crowns and a definite root Canal!!!! 1st started going to this Amazing Dentist/Dentist Office during Covid! I was suggest by a mutual friend and she was 100% correct in everything she told me. Dr. McGuffie and all of his staff especially Debbie are absolutely amazing!!! I have never felt more comfortable in my whole life going to the dentist. He carefully mapped out what teeth he would take care of first to fix the horrible job done by the last dentist i saw in PA. They are Kind, Caring, Professional, Thorough, and NO pain with any of the procedures i had! I cant thank him and his whole team enough especially Debbie!!! Thank you so much for giving me my smile back. I will Never go to another dentist ever again! I found the ONLY amazing one in SOFL. You will NOT be dissapointed! I cant even believe im sharing him with anyone!!!! Lol

I have been going to Boca Dental Arts since I moved back to Florida 4 years ago. I can not rave enough about this place. Dr. McGuffie is a genius. I had a tooth filled 3 days ago and I literally did not feel a thing. Not even the needle to administer the novocaine. Great professional place.

My husband & I are moving down to Fl from NY & needed a Dentist. My Aunt & Uncle recommended Dr. Axel McGuffie. We were both extremely happy with his services. Both him & Debbie were personable and friendly & even more importantly safe & gentle with the cleaning. They have state of the art equipment that was beyond pleasant on our teeth. The office was clean and felt safe as they only have 1 patient at a time in the office. I would highly recommend him to anybody.

My sister recommended this dental office. The first thing she said about it is the dentist and the assistant are so nice! Like really nice people! I decided to give it a shot! Not only I experienced the great warm welcome but also my root canal procedure was painless! Me. McGuffie gave me a detailed step by step explanation of what is he gonna do! It was reallY nice experience! I really loved it! For sure coming back!
