Hailing from Hollywood, CA, Dr. Bo Turnage brings a bit of movie star glam combined with classic island hospitality to all his patients. He moved to San Juan Island in 2003 after practicing dentistry for the Hollywood stars, and later in Ellensburg, WA. With a particular flourish for cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Turnage has the most up-to-date technology and practices in the San Juan Islands. Be it a toothache or a routine cleaning, you're sure to enjoy your dental experience whether you choose to drink in the stunning views, play X-Box, or watch our ceiling-mounted cable TVs. Stephanie is a registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Colorado Northwestern in 1993. She practiced 8 years in Big Piney, WY, 6 years in Grangeville, ID and has been with Dr. Turnage since 2007. Steph and her husband Fred, school Superintendent, enjoy participating in the school events. They have two children, CJ and Kiana who are both attending college. In her spare time Steph likes to hike, read and spend time at the islands beaches.
Stacey Rude has been with the practice since 2015 and is Bos Lead Assistant and Practice Manager. A mom of four, Stacey is also Friday Harbor High School's award-winning cheer coach. When she's not fixing teeth or leading our community's youth to victory, Stacey is tending her amazing garden or fishing with her husband, Dave.
Originally from Texas, Mariah does it allbuilder, baker, candlestick maker, and of course, dental assistant. When shes not at the office you might spot her snorkeling in the Sound or as a speck on the horizon in her sea kayak. Shes been with Bos practice since 2014.
Raised right here on San Juan Island, Jacklyn is a true local. Before hygiene school, she interned with Bo during high school, and got inspired to become a dental hygienist after working with Stephanie Woods. After graduating PIMA Medical Institute in North Seattle, she immediately asked Bo if he needed help, and got her dream job with a view!
Hailing from Minnesota, Emilie found herself drawn to the PNW from a young age. After graduating college in 2016 with a bachelors degree in Business from Bemidji State University, she moved to Friday Harbor. She found her way to Bos office in 2019, and loves every minute of it!

Dr Turnage and his staff are great! I, as a rule, hate going to dentists, but they do a great job putting you at ease. Great location, nice views of the harbor while they work on you. They work well with your insurance and don't tackle you on the way out for $$. Dr Turnage is very active in supporting the arts. Update: Nov 2022 Using him for six years now. Always great service!

Dr Turnage met with me before a trip to make sure the tooth I was concerned about would be taken care. He answered my questions and concerns and came up with two plans of actions to care for tooth that will meet my needs and timing. Went out of his way to do so. Thank you.

New update. Had a dental cleaning yesterday and once again a fantastic experience. Jacqueline the hygienist (sorry if I misspelled) was wonderful. The best thing, my gums weren't sore the next day as I have experienced in other dental offices. Would highly recommend Bo Turnage! Fantastic Dentist and everyone working there are phenomenal. Bo is hilarious.

Bo helped me out in an emergency even though I wasn't one of his patients and he had not met me previously. He made me feel welcomed and provided excellent care. Not the response that I received from another local dentist's office...

This was my first visit to Dr Turnage's office. I was greeted warmly, and was told they had all my records from my previous dentist. Teeth cleaning was very nicely done by the hygienist. Dr Turnage also did his examination, finding no problems, which I liked! They were very professional. Additionally, the office is beautiful and has a terrific view.

I unfortunately suffered a minor explosion to face and mouth and chipped a tooth. I have had 2 fears my entire life. Sasquatch and Dentists. Like literally I have felt Dentists are the anti-Christ, deviant torturers of the human spirit. Last cleaning in Mexico I had to seek out a kids dentist as I knew they'd be gentle. She was great and I was on way to healing my fears. Hands down, Bo and and his crew are freaking amazing. I felt nothing and a saw rainbows at end and a heavy cloud lifted from my soul. Amazing team. I schedule my next appointment with no fear and feeling comfortable. Now- off to sharpen my sticks and track down that smelly yeti creature. Hooyah.

I was so impressed!! First off with the waiting area, wow!! There has to be something in there for you to read while waiting and talk about the atmosphere all being beautifully done! The staff is awesome!! And Dr. Turnage is just a hoot!! Love his personality, funny and very friendly!! So sorry I didn't use them years ago!! My husband feels the same, they really bailed him out when he needed someone fast for a bad tooth when he couldn't get in to see his normal dentist. That is what made me go to him and I am really glad for that!
