Dr. Bob Garrison has more than 30 years of experience as an orthodontist and has helped thousands of patients achieve beautiful and healthy smiles through braces and a wide array of orthodontic treatments. A lifelong South Carolina resident whose father was a general dentist in Columbia, SC, Dr. Garrison grew up and worked in the Columbia and Lexington areas, and owned a successful orthodontic practice in Lexington for decades, where he put braces on more than 10,000 patients, including the daughter of former Governor of South Carolina and former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.
In 2016, Dr. Garrison sold his orthodontic practice in Lexington with the idea of retiring in Bluffton. However, it didnt take him long to realize that starting a new orthodontic practice made sense in so many ways. With the launch of Bluffton Orthodontics, Dr. Garrison is excited to bring his many years of experience and passion for orthodontics to the Lowcountry creating a unique practice that not only provides patients and families the highest quality of experienced orthodontic care and outstanding results, but offers a fun environment and stress-free journey to a beautiful smile.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS in Biology, he earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and his degree in orthodontics from the Medical College of Georgia.
Originally from the Boston area, Tanna has lived in Bluffton since 2014. She left Boston to get away from the snow and the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. Lowcountry life in South Carolina had the appeal of more relaxed living and warmth year-round. She stays busy with her husband, two children and two dogs! Tanna enjoys working in Orthodontics because she loves seeing peoples transformations from beginning to end and the joy that it brings them.
Christie moved to the Bluffton area from Maryland, has more than 15 years of experience in chairside assisting and notes that the most rewarding part of her job is seeing the beautiful smiles we create. She enjoys the opportunity to get to know patients and their families during their treatment where she gets to see them every six to eight weeks and loves hearing about their day at school or at work, what sports they engage in, and where they have gone on vacations.
Bridget moved to Bluffton in July of 2019 from New Jersey. Bridget is married to a wonderful husband and has two children and four grandchildren that keep her heart full and her schedule busy! She enjoys being outdoors and frequently goes on bike rides, out for walks and loves going to the beach and pool. She likes working in Orthodontics because she loves the confidence a beautiful smile gives to a person.
Norma is from beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii but has lived in Southern California the majority of her life and is a California girl at heart! The Marine Corps relocated her family to South Carolina due to her husbands service as an Active-Duty Marine. Norma and her husband have two adventurous young boys and two dogs that fill their home. She loves seeing the progress as patients go through their treatment.
Anna is originally from Panam but grew up all over the place as a military brat. The military is also what brought her to South Carolina, her husband is a Marine who was stationed at Parris Island. He is getting out of the Marine Corps, and they are making South Carolina their home because they fell in love with the Lowcountry lifestyle. Anna is excited to raise her family here, she has one daughter with plans to have more kids but for now she is happy with one daughter and two fur kids.
Anna enjoys working in Orthodontics because she had a horrible snaggle tooth growing up that she was very self-conscious about. Braces helped her fall in love with her smile and she thinks everyone should be able to have a smile they love.
Kim moved from Williamsburg, Virginia to South Carolina because she wanted to be amongst the palm trees and back to her southern roots, she moved from a colonial town to a coastal town, and it is a totally different world! She has 2 beautiful daughters that are grown and out of the house, and now has 3 sweet fur babies to occupy her time. Kim enjoys being in Orthodontics because she wants to be a part of giving people the confidence to smile. She remembers the impact her braces had for her confidence and loves seeing others find that same confidence. She used to be complimented on her eyes all the time and now her smile is the first thing people compliment!

If you want the best orthodontic care in the low country, it has to be Bluffton orthodontics! Dr.garrison and his team are very welcoming every time I go. I'm in And out so quickly, I've never had a bad experience in all the time I've gone.

Bluffton Orthodontics is a very efficiently run practice. Everyone in the office greets you in a friendly way. I've never waited more than 2 or 3 minutes to be seated. Very personalized care.

I love Bluffton Orthodontics!!! I will definitely be recommending it to all of my friends. They are so accommodating. I was in college and had to travel back home for my appointments. Very flexible between their other location Costal Orthodontics in Beaufort as well. Very friendly environment with all the dental assistants. Never hurt me and made sure I was okay throughout all of my appointments.

Love this place! From the staff to Dr. Garrison, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. This was my first time getting braces but it has been a learning and wonderful experience! They try their best to accommodate everyone's schedule and getting everyone in and out! Love it!!!!

Absolutely beautiful office filled with wonderful people. They don't try to just push braces on every child. They explained the treatment options for my child and have monthly payment plans available for the braces. The office also has a play area that they share with a pediatric dentist. The building in general is a one stop shop. They have several appointment times/options and send reminders. 10/10 would recommend!

Bluffton Orthodontics is fantastic! We move to Bluffton in the middle of a braces plan for my daughter and they picked up where we left off beautifully. We are now going on our second child's treatment plan and are glad we found them.

Another local orthodontist said my 7-year old son needed braces. We went to Dr. Garrison for a second opinion, and Dr. Garrison said my son wasn't ready. That was four years ago, and said son STILL isn't in braces. His twin, however, started treatment four months ago. When an orthodontist sees both of your kids every nine months and repeatedly says, "Not yet," without charging you a dime, you believe him when he finally says, "This one's ready." It's been a simple process so far, fairly pain-free, and we've never waited more than 3 minutes at appointments. Can't recommend Dr. Garrison and Bluffton Orthodontics enough.

Our child was referred to Dr. Garrison by our dentist for a consult due to potential mild crowding. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken back to a "consult" office by Tanna who was extemely nice and professional. Dr. Garrison came in greeted us and asked why we were there. We discussed our Dentist referral and wanted to know what he thought. Before even looking at our child he said we would not be there if braces were not needed. He then looked at our childs teeth, showed us and said we would benefit from braces. None of our family has ever been to an Ortho or had braces. This was all new to us. Dr. Garrison made a quick recommendation, answered our questions, but seemed very dismissive of our concerns and questioning his plan. He was rude in our opinion during this entire process. Our impressionable young teen was present in the room when Dr. Garrison told us braces would make our teen look better, more than once. We felt like he had one foot out the door the entire time. He made a comment rudely that we would not be able to get late afternoon appts if we went forward with braces. Given this being our first experience at an Orthodontist we felt this practice did not meet our expectation and fell way short our earning our business. Do your research.
