Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Elliot will be the first to tell you that he bleeds blue! He proudly completed the entirety of his undergraduate and professional training at the University of Kentucky, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree, and a Master of Science degree. Dr. Neuman completed his graduate thesis, Autophagy Pathway Gene Expression Profiles during Periodontics, during his three-year specialty training in periodontics and implant surgery. Following graduation, he continues to serve at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry as a part-time faculty member in the Department of Periodontology.
Dr. Neuman values staying current on periodontal procedures and has a keen interest in research and technology. In June of 2015, he achieved status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a recognized specialty of the American Dental Association. He is also a member of professional organizations such as the American Academy of Peridontology, International Team for Implantology, American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, and Bluegrass Study Club. Dr. Neuman enjoys giving back by volunteering his time and talent for the Mission Lexington Dental Clinic and Dentistry From the Heart.
Dr. Neuman and his wife, Whitney, have 2 beautiful little girls! Ryan Elizabeth was born in July 2015 and Sydney Ann was born in August 2017. When not at the office, Dr. Neuman loves spending time with his family, playing the drums, and cheering on the Cats!

Dr. Neuman is a wonderful doctor that takes the time to listen and really get to the root of an issue. He was so thorough in trying to address a specific issue I was having that ended up not being periodontically related, but he went thru absolutely every possible scenario to rule out potential diagnoses. He is also kind, and takes the time to explain what he is doing during the appointment and, more importantly, why. Wonderful experience!

My teeth were badly damaged during my second pregnancy when I was 32. Since that my teeth decline every year with stress and aging. In my late 50s, dentists say my teeth should be all pulled. Worrying about my dreadful gum disease, I do not want binding my teeth together on four roots risking them all on any root. My teeth are very challenging for a dentist. My dentist referred me to Dr. Neuman for a complicated implant. The miracle is from the start of the surgeon to the slight swell fading away, I did not feel any pain. Not only the implant root, he smoothed all around it. My upper left part is not my worry anymore. One Friday morning I appeared in his office with a swelled cheek caused by an infected teeth eruption in much pain. Dr. Neuman treated me on the day that all pain ceased in the night. More than that, he did not take the chance to make a big charge at all. He appeased me both physically and mentally. I do not feel anxiety about my teeth anymore with Dr. Neuman. I am in good hands. From my experience searching for a dentist, Dr. Neuman's dentist fee is medium. He is a good deal for his super quality. I appreciate Dr. Neuman a lot. I had the good luck to have him as my dentist.

They might be a great place I wouldn't know. Had an appt made ahead of time. Was sent text day before to confirm, then less then three hours later was called to reschedule for staffing issues? I understand things happen but what happened in 3 hours then make a reschedule over two weeks later.

Dr. Elliot Neuman and his staff are top notch. When I was referred to his office by my primary dentist for a gum graft I arrived anxious and concerned. After meeting the staff day one I felt at ease and comfortable. Each time I entered the office it felt like visiting family. Every individual working at Bluegrass Periodontics took time to invest in my process. I felt calm knowing exactly how the procedure would take place. I understood billing clearly before my surgery and had a direct line of contact with Dr. Neuman during my recovery. While I never expected to make new friends during this process I can confidently say these individuals take pride in a holistic approach to care. As I walked out today beaming with pride after my final checkup Dr. Douglas Neuman gave me a mug. I was proud of myself and this small token of appreciation melted my heart. What a kind and compassionate staff.

They are all amazing! Very friendly and always take care of you and answer questions without being mean. Lauren is especially wonderful and nice and always answers questions without sounding annoyed. The Dr. was amazing and careful. also very nice. I wish all doctors, nurses, and receptionists were like them!

From Lauren in reception to Kate and Chelsea during procedures, I was treated with care and compassion during each step of my procedure. Dr. Neuman's kind, pleasant manner makes him extremely easy to trust. I was so worried about our daughter having treatment while she was out of state for college but Bluegrass Periodontics was the most welcoming office we have ever come across. We were so impressed with everyone's hospitality and professionalism. We highly recommend this office, it was a pleasant experience all the way around.

Dr. Neuman and his staff have given me the most amazing experience from any doctor from any field that I could ever hope for. Let me preface this by saying I'm in the military and have traveled all over the world and met many different doctors and staff and Dr Neuman and his staff are by far the BEST I have EVER dealt with. They will bend over backwards to take care of your needs and showed that on multiple occasions from calling and checking in on me after my procedure, to being flexible with my scheduling, and even staying late to ensure I was taken care of. I had a dental implant on one of my front teeth and was extremely worried about the process but I couldn't be happier with the results. Even the administrative team and assistants are extremely knowledgeable and nice and had no issues taking care of the extra mandatory steps required when you are in the military that most offices struggle with. The people that work there are amazing, genuine human beings and I can't thank them enough for everything that they have done. If you are looking to have services done in this field please do yourself a favor and see them and I promise you will be amazed with the results!

I wish I had found Dr Neuman and his staff years ago! Hands down best dental experience of my life. I had surgery 3 days ago, not only am I not in any pain - I actually feel better. Amazing! Highly recommend. Would give them Ten stars!

As hands down the biggest coward in the tri-state area i cannot recommend Dr Neuman highly enough. I had gum replacement surgery. From Lauren going over with me thoroughly and accurately what insurance would pay and my part (so there were no surprises) to Dr Neuman calling me later to speak with me about my recovery. When I called with questions I was treated warmly and given immediate attention. Dr Neuman is the real deal.

Dr. Elliot Neuman, Lauren, Kate, Chelsea and the entire staff at Bluegrass Periodontics are absolutely amazing! I cannot speak highly enough about this group of professionals. They go above and beyond for their clients and are the kindest people. I have been driving to Tennessee to go to my dentist back home for the past 6 years. I recently finished my Invisalign treatment with that dentist and realized I still really wanted cosmetic crown lengthening afterwards. I was referred to Dr. Elliot Neuman by Dr. Tyler Bolin and could not have been more pleased. Now, I would not consider going to see anyone else. They are phenomenal people and their work speaks for itself!

Great practice with excellent staff. I was referred for an issue with my gum. The biopsy and bone graft went well with little pain. Dr. Neuman called to check on me after both procedures to make sure I was okay. Went today for a follow up and cleaning. Everything has healed up well, and I've been released back to my general dentist. I'm very pleased with the great services I have received here and will not hesitate to return if needed.
