At Bluegrass Pediatric Dentistry, our goal is to help children, adolescents and those with special needs achieve optimum oral health through excellent and compassionate dental care. As a specialized pediatric dental practice, we take very seriously the responsibility of caring for children. By working in partnership with kids and parents, we believe every child can begin their life with a healthy smile.
Dr. Zak grew up throughout the south and northeastern US. He completed his undergraduate degree from Asbury College, his dental degree from the University of Kentucky, and his Pediatric Dental Residency from Northwestern University of Chicago. He returned to Central Kentucky to practice pediatric dentistry. He enjoys the outdoors, running, traveling, barbequing with family and friends. Dr. Zak also enjoys traveling and frequently participates in dental mission trips around the world. He and his wife, Beka, have two young boys, James and John.
A native of Eastern Kentucky, Dr. Lucas completed his undergraduate and dental degree from the University of Kentucky. He practiced general dentistry in Paducah, KY before pursuing his two years of specialty training in pediatric dentistry, also at UK. He enjoys playing golf, cars, fishing and watching UK basketball and football. He also enjoys traveling and frequently participates in dental mission trips around the world. Dr. Bowen and his wife, Amy, have two children, Ava and John Luke.
Dr. Kevin grew up in Lexington with a large family. He met his wife, Lauren, while in college at Transylvania University. Upon finishing dental school and GPR at University of Kentucky, they embarked on a two-year adventure in Chicago for residency and two more spent in private practice. In 2016, they moved back to Lexington and Dr. Kevin has been practicing at BPD ever since. Kevin enjoys his new role as father to William, hiking the foothills of eastern Kentucky, teaching Sunday school, and subjecting his sometimes willing family to all kinds of culinary experiments.
