Dr. Jim Woods leads our team at Bluegrass Orthodontics. He graduated from St. Mary High School in 1971; the University of Kentucky in 1974; and the University of Louisville Dental School in 1978. Dr. Woods then went on to complete a two-year residency program in Orthodontics at the prestigious University of Iowa. By 1980, he had received his Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master's of Science degree.
Dr. Woods is a born leader, and he has lectured internationally to audiences in Italy, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Together with the rest of our friendly staff, he strives to provide the best care possible for all our patients by only using the highest quality orthodontic appliances. My son has only been going a short time, but we are very happy so far. The doctor and staff are very friendly and I feel we were presented with a conservative plan that was in the best interest of our son, not just the best interest of the clinic.

I was traveling through Paducah and a band on my back molar became loose and was really chewing up my gums. My teeth are actually really tightly together (thus the need for braces) and it was no small feat for her to loosen the band and get it off my tooth. But she clipped the wire (perfectly w no sharp end left!!!) and then even managed to keep the band intact and unbent in case my orthodontist back home wants to reuse it. I called around 11 am and was seen that afternoon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

I went there to get my braces and overall nice staff but the orthodontist only had my braces on for 6 months and even with the retainers my teeth shifted; I did everything like they said to do and wear them as told to and they wanted me to ...

Dr. Woods is amazing. Anytime my kids had issues with their wires breaking or anything they would have me bring them that day. My son was supposed to wear his braces approximately 2 years and he ended up getting them off in a little over a year.

I went there to get my braces and overall nice staff but the orthodontist only had my braces on for 6 months and even with the retainers my teeth shifted; I did everything like they said to do and wear them as told to and they wanted me to pay $250-$300 for new retainers when my teeth done shifted out of The old retainers. I contacted another orthodontist and they recommended at least 1-2 years of braces. I highly do not recommend this place to no one.
