After graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1997, Doctor Andrew Burtreturned to Bowling Green where he has been in private practice . Dr Burt attended Western Kentucky University as a student athlete (Football) in the early 1990s and continues to be involved with WKU athletics as a member of the medical staff/team physicians. He loves all aspects of dentistry but truly enjoys the surgical/restorative aspect of implant and cosmetic dentistry. In his free time, Dr. Burt enjoys playing golf, boating, WKU and youth athletics, and spending time with family and friends.
Doctor Shuemaker attended the University of Louisville for his undergraduate studies, receiving the McConnell Scholarship for political leadership, and graduated with a degree in Biology in 2003, with a minor in political science He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2008. He then practiced in Birmingham, AL for 5 years focusing on childrens dentistry. He moved to Bowling Green in 2013 with his wife Jennifer, who is a practicing Nephrologist. Together they have two children. Dr. Shuemaker has been practicing with Bluegrass Oral Health Center since late 2013 at primarily the Smiths Grove and Morgantown offices. While he enjoys all areas of general dentistry, he particularly enjoys Pediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Shuemaker enjoys golf, softball, fishing, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.
Doctor Thomas Birkenhauer has been practicing at Bluegrass Oral Health since 2010. During his time at the University of Kentucky he was voted class president by his classmates for all 4 years. After graduating he married Dr. Thomas and they joined the practice together. Dr. Birkenhauer enjoys many different aspects of dentistry, but loves full mouth rehabilitation because it requires the use of so many different skills and truly changes peoples lives. In his free time he enjoys fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his kids.
Doctor Meghan Thomas attended the University of Kentucky and graduated with a degree in Biology in 2006. She attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and graduated in 2010 and moved to Bowling Green with her husband Dr. Birkenhauer to join Bluegrass Oral Health Center. Together they have 2 children. Dr. Thomas feels lucky to be in a practice that allows her to be both a dentist and a mother. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Kentucky Dental Association. She is also trained in BOTOX therapy by the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics and has enjoyed adding another life changing service to her practice. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Carroll Is great he seems like he really cares about his patience more than the money all of the staff there go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable I recommend Smith Grove location to everybody

Dr Carroll is an amazing dentist with years of expert service to prove it. One of the best dentists in the country in my opinion. Bluegrass oral health is also very affordable and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I'll stay with them as long as i am in the area.

My son, whose face is swollen from an infection, was turned away..Not accepting new patients on Medicaid. Um, so die..I guess!?! What a bunch of heartless pieces of unGodly trash...

This place is a joke and Dr. Carol is also a joke they think it's ok to let there dental assistant do someone's dental work while the dentist his self stands there trying to explain how to fill the tooth what tools they can use and can't use and then when you tell them you won't the dentist to do the work you don't won't to be practiced on they get extremely rude and hateful then call you a month later saying they won't see you no more because you wouldn't let the collage girl dental assistant practice in your teeth this place is not fit to work.on plastic teeth.

So apparently I was a no show. Now I'm pretty much not able to go in. I know I called and cancelled weeks before hand but the woman who answers the phone is so ditsy, she probably never put it in. If I was supposed to go in, then why did I never get a reminder like my daughter did.... hmmmm. It's also funny how we dont have any cancellations but you can always call when you're free to check on cancellations. Screw that and screw them. Nine of my family will be back.

I recently switched to Bluegrass Oral Health. They've been great to my wife and I and came through for me in a pinch. Dr Daniel Birkenhauer, especially, is very personable and goes out of his way to make every visit a pleasant experience. We're blessed to have this office in our community.

I am so thankful for this office and how professional and caring they are! Dr. Daniel Birkenhauer and his entire team are wonderful. Routine visits have been so easy and painless, and even when I have needed emergency care for a chipped tooth, they have gone above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dental team!

I just had my first visit with Bluegrass Oral Health in Smiths Grove, and I loved it! Every staff member was polite, warm, and knowledgeable. Dr. Daniel Birkenhauer was wonderful, as well. I didn't see a single face that didn't have a smile on it! I highly recommend, and I have already scheduled my next routine visit.

Excellent people!!! Excellent service!!! I walked in with my daughter to her appointment myself not having one just to see how long it would take me to get in... to my surprise they got me right in due to a no call and fixed a chip I had in my front tooth!!! I had an appointment the day before with Aspen dental needless to say I had called two weeks earlier to make and once there.... I was seen "18 X-rays later .... after the lady doing them about killed me!!!!" Realized that I wasn't getting my tooth fixed....I was just sitting through hours of nonsense...... something told me something wasn't right.... so I got up and left ....the next morning ended up here and couldn't be more please!!!! Everyone there is so nice.... I would definitely RECOMMEND THEM!!!! And by the way my tooth looks amazing!!! So Thanks to a wonderful group of people!!!!

The secretary's in this office are EXTREMELY rude. Every time I've called Or came in they've always had a Horrible attitude. The only ly reason I give 1 star is because the dental assistants are nice and thorough. If you can get past the rudeness of the desk receptionist, All of them, then it's not too bad. I'm currently looking for a new dentist or maybe seeing about going to the bowling green office.
