Dr. Martin was born and raised right down the road in Cookeville, TN where he attended Cookeville High School. Along with being a member of the National Honor Roll Society each year, Dr. Martin also excelled on the baseball diamond. After being selected to the All-State team in baseball, he earned a scholarship to continue his baseball career at Middle Tennessee State University.
While at MTSU, Dr. Martin continued his academic success being elected to the Academic Honor Roll. In baseball, he also garnered many accolades. In addition to being selected to the All-Conference and All-Region teams, as a junior Dr. Martin was chosen as an All-American. To this day he still holds the MTSU all-time career batting average record with a career average of .392.
Dr. Martin was able to achieve his childhood dream of playing professional baseball when he signed with the Cleveland Indians organization. After several seasons with the Cleveland Indians organization, he sustained a career ending injury that made it impossible to continue on his professional baseball career path. Dr. Martin then returned to MTSU where he graduated and went on to attend the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. After finishing Dental School, he returned to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to practice dentistry where he joined Bluegrass Dental as an associate. His personable chair side manner and his relentless dedication to excellent treatment earned him the opportunity to officially take over the reins of Bluegrass Dental a year later. Life seemed to come full circle when Dr. Martin was asked to be the preferred dental provider for MTSU athletics.
Dr. Martin has continued his training and education by attending ongoing dental courses offered by all of his affiliation organizations. He is focused on offering the most up-to-date dental procedures available. Dr. Martin is an Implant Pathway Fellow with extensive clinical training in dental implants.
