Our staff has been with us for several years, and we all know and like each other quite a bit. Beloved by her patients for her expert care and warm, inviting personality, Autumn has been with our team for over 10 years. She loves meeting new patients as well as returning ones, and she's known throughout the office for her outgoing and friendly disposition.

Autumn is originally from Mt. Sidney, Virginia, and she received her professional degree at Virginia Western Dental Hygiene School. When she's not helping our patients, Autumn loves spending time with her husband, Mike, and their three children, Mikayla, Carter, and Cassie. Their children are very active in sports, including softball and soccer, and on weekends Autumn and her husband love to cheer them on from the sidelines!

One of our veteran hygienists, Kim has spent over 12 years at Blue Stone Hills Dentistry and has formed lasting and valuable connections with so many of our patients, both young and old. She is known for her meticulous and gentle touch as well adventurous spirit.

Kim graduated from the VWCC-LFCC Dental Hygiene Program, but also maintains a license in nursing, which makes her especially skilled at helping patients make connections between their dental and systemic health. She is married and has a son and daughter, both of whom are recent college graduates. She loves the outdoors and spends her time hiking, traveling, visiting Shenandoah National Park, and even caving!

Kyla originally worked at our office back in the day with Dr. Gardner, and our team is thrilled to have her return here after many years away. Shehas lived in Rockingham County most of her life and has a true passion for helping patients improve their oral and systemic health. She is known at our office for her magnetic personality and meticulous, gentle bedside manner.

Kyla earned an Associates Degree from Virginia Western Community College in May of 2012. Kyla then transferred to Old Dominion University, earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in 2015, where she majored in Dental Hygiene, minoring in Community Health. She is certified in CPR and local anesthesia.

Sjoukje is one of our fabulous dental assistants who works chair-side with Dr. Curtin.Sjoukje received her dental assistant certification through Massanutten Technical Center just over 5 years ago. She has always been fascinated by teeth and loves that dental assisting gives her a chance to explore her passion.

Sjoukje is very happily married and has a tiny dog she that adores. She lived for some time in Maine before returning to the Shenandoah Valley with her spouse. Sjoukje is passionate about the Earth and the natural world, and follows a vegan lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting and drawing.

Crystal is one of the newer members of our team, but she is a seasoned dental assistant with a wealth of experience. She is a known at our office for her helpful personality and positive attitude. Crystal is wonderful working chairside during dental procedures, and goes above and beyond to make our patients comfortable and help the office run smoothly.

Crystal originally hails from Lewisburg, WV and currently resides in Elkton. She received her Associates of Science at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach. She is an avid fan of the outdoors, cooking, and enjoys spending time away from the office with family and friends.

The first person many of our patients meet at our office is Sarah, who greets our patients and helps to run the front desk. Sarah has worked for many years in medical administration, and our patients and staff greatly appreciate her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor.

Sarah's originally from Richmond and received her Bachelor's Degree from James Madison University in 2013 (Go Dukes!) After graduation, she relocated to Northern VA and then Charlottesville. However, she eventually found her way back to Harrisonburg and we're so happy she did. She is a huge animal lover and has 4 dogs! In her free time, she loves to kayak, camp, and go to live music shows.

Tamara is our beloved office manager and is eager to warmly greet and assist our patients. She greatly values this opportunity to build relationships with everyone we treat. She leads a very active lifestyle and has a special love for the outdoors.

In her free time, Tamara enjoys hiking, running, and sporting events. She has three wonderful children, recently celebrated the birth of her first grand-child, and cherishes all the time she gets to spend with her family. She resides in Harrisonburg.

Blue Stone Hills Dentistry is home to the married dental team, Dr. David Curtin and Dr. Sarah Janowski in Harrisonburg, VA. Since graduation from dental school, it has been their long-time dream to own a dental office together and after practicing for many years on their own, that dream came true! They are both passionate about providing the absolute finest, state-of-the-art dental care and they feel fortunate to work with a team that values high standards as much as they do. They have attended extensive continuing education courses together and through the years have developed protocols for treatment that are based on the highest quality materials and most up-to-date clinical research.

At the heart of their practice is honesty, compassion, and community service. Both Dr. Curtin and Dr. Janowski provide extensive free services to those in their area who are most in need. They partner with many of the area's shelters and free clinics to deliver comprehensive pro bono dental care, some times to patients who have never had the opportunity to go to the dentist before. When not volunteering their dental services, they also are proud CASA volunteer advocates and work within the family court system to sponsor our area's most vulnerable foster children.

Born and raised in Illinois on the western edge of the Chicago suburbs, Dr. David Curtin received his undergraduate Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology. While there, he completed a research thesis on water treatment methods for the worlds rural poor, which led to a three-month humanitarian trip to the Peruvian Andes immediately after graduating.

He then attended Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While in dental school, he met his future wife, Dr. Sarah Janowski. After graduating in 2012, Dr. Curtin continued to practice in a clinic in Philadelphia that served low-income patients. He and Dr. Janowski then moved back to Illinois to be closer to Dr. Curtin's family. On April 30th 2016, Dr. Curtin and Dr. Janowski got married. They moved to the Shenandoah Valley the following month.

Dr. Curtin feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry and to offer the most advanced treatments. He has a particular interest in the field of preventive dentistry - stopping cavities before they even start.

Dr. Curtin gives back to his local community by volunteering with many organizations. He works with the Anicira Animal Shelter, provides care for First Step Women's Shelter pro bono, and teaches an after-school program with On the Road Collective to help middle school students explore dentistry. He loves to educate his patients about dental care in order to empower them to achieve a great smile and a healthy mouth.

Since 2013, Dr. Sarah Janowski has been providing her patients with exceptional general, pediatric and cosmetic dental care. As an undergraduate, she attended Binghamton University in upstate New York where she received her Bachelor's degree in biology. While completing her undergraduate education, she also completed a thesis in ethnobotany.

After graduating, she attended Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During dental school, Dr. Janowski worked extensively to provide dental services to underserved areas of Philadelphia. She also traveled to Washington D.C. as a select delegate with the American Student Dental Association to lobby for improved access to care for persons with disability and children of low-income families.

Upon graduating, Dr. Janowski practiced for several years outside of the Chicago suburbs with Dr. Curtin before relocating to the Harrisonburg area. Dr. Janowski believes in practicing honesty and empathy while providing high quality, pain-free dentistry.

Dr. Janowski is especially passionate about cosmetic and restorative dentistry and has attended numerous continuing education courses all across the country with topics including full-mouth rehabilitation, Invisalign orthodontics, implant dentistry, as well as veneers and composite restoration. She completed a rigorous series in composite training with the Esthetic Professional Center in Los Angeles, CA, has taken multiple courses with Spear Dentistry, and also completed a continuum on full-mouth rehabilitation with the prestigious Brumm & Strupp.

Dr. Janowski volunteers with many local organizations, including the Harrisonburg Women's Service League and the Anicira Animal Shelter. Along with her husband, Dr. Curtin, she provides care for First Step Women's Shelter pro bono. In 2018, Dr. Curtin and Dr. Janowski were trained as CASA Advocates and since then have volunteered with their Shenandoah Valley/Blue Ridge branch in representing and advocating for at-risk children in the foster care system.

Meghan began her dental career after graduating from the dental hygiene program at Lord Fairfax College in 2006. She is an active member of the vocal component for Virginia Dental Hygiene Association. This allows her to a stay up-to-date on the newest and most effective tools and techniques to give her patients the best dental experience possible.
