Led by our founder, Dr. Luke Roberts, the Blue Ridge Orthodontics specialists are committed to state-of-the-art, individualized orthodontic treatment for each patient. Dr. Roberts is one of onlytwo board certified orthodontists in Asheville and our practice was recently recognized asamong the top 1% of Invisalign providers in North America.

Since the day I started Blue Ridge Orthodontics, it was my dream to be able to start a Cleft Lip and Palate Team for Western North Carolina. Starting as a young teenager and into early adulthood, I had the fortune of working with my father, a plastic surgeon, on medical mission trips in the Dominican Republic and South America where the focus was cleft lip and palate surgery. This left a lasting impression on me, and during dental school, I was able to work in the Department of Craniofacial Plastic Surgery at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia with the most complex cleft patients. As I moved into my orthodontics residency, I was able to continue my training on the Cleft and Craniofacial Team in the Department of Orthodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University. Since starting Blue Ridge Orthodontics, I was able to develop relationships over the years to make it feasible to operate a multidisciplinary Cleft Lip and Palate Team based here in Asheville, NC.
This is a wonderful addition to our community, as oral and facial clefting is one of the most common developmental differences. Until our team formed, patients and their families routinely had to travel to Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill or Duke to see a cleft team. Our team is one of only six cleft teams in all of North Carolina, and our goal is to serve these patients with world-class care.

He earned his Business degree with an emphasis in Marketing from Clemson University in 2002. In 2007, Dr. Howell graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine.
A passion for his hometown brought him back to Greenville, SC as head ofCarolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgerys Greenville office. He focuses onorthognathic surgery,treatment of maxillofacial trauma, facial trauma repair,dental implant reconstruction,cleft lip/palate surgeryandwisdom teeth removal. Dr. Howell loves working in his hometown, where he lives with his wife and two (yes, two) sets of twins.
He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, earned his doctorate of dental surgery degree at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, and completed an internship in maxillofacial trauma in New Orleans. His work in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina earned him a national community service award.
Dr. Mohamed stayed in New Orleans to complete medical school, a general surgery internship, and his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Louisiana State University. His training there involved trauma, pathology, and cosmetic surgery of the face. After spending 10 years understanding the human face, he joined Dr. Howard Tobin for a fellowship in cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Kapitan is a Board-Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon specializing in cleft lip/palate surgery, orthognathic (jaw realignment) surgery, facial trauma repair, bone grafting, and dental implant reconstruction. Dr. Kapitan holds both a doctorate in surgery and masters of science degrees, as well as advanced training as a specialist in surgery and anesthesia (OMS) from The Ohio State University Medical Center.
On a personal level, Dr. Kapitan enjoys camping, hunting and fishing with his family. He lives on a family farm that he operates with the help of his family in Weddington NC, and is an active member at Nativity Orthodox Christian Church in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Jackson Griffeth graduated first in his class from Dental College of Georgia at Augusta and has many honors and distinctions. Growing up in a family of healthcare workers, it was natural for Dr. Griffeth to want to work with people. All it took was a day of shadowing an orthodontist and he was hooked! Dr. Griffeth drives to create an excellent patient experience and join the uplifting team culture of the BRO team.
Dr. Griffeth and his wife have two children, Rebecca and Bear, and another on the way. In his free time, you can find him outside with his family on one of the nearby trails or the river, making the most of his free time. Dr. Griffeth and his wife, Katherine, are serious about being active. Katherine ran the Boston Marathon at 17 weeks pregnant and Dr. Griffeth competed on the TV show American Ninja Warrior. Talk about impressive! When they arent hiking or competing in a major race they love to travel, do yoga, garden and enjoy home-cooked meals with family and friends.

If you are looking for a wonderful orthodontic office look no further! The staff is amazing and made my daughter so comfortable through each of her visits. Everyone is so nice and welcoming from the first time you set foot in the front door. This is a great place that treats you like family.

We appreciate how much BRO has supported both our kiddos with expanders and braces. They are accommodating with appointments and last minute needs (like when an expander popped out!). My son Chance White has just about finished his treatments and we can't say enough about our Brevard family at BRO! When your in braces you spend a lot of time at the ortho and they treat us like their family! Thank you so much for giving this boy a beautiful or should I say "handsome" smile!!

BRO has been really wonderful. Their technicians are always kind and engaged with the kiddos. The docs are knowledgeable and gentle. When Dr Griffeth sat down to fit my son with a pallet expander, I saw him take a long slow breath before putting his hands in my son's mouth. It was so nice to see him intentionally slow down. A rarity indeed.

I'm almost finished with my Invisalign and couldn't be happier. The staff at BRO has been so nice during every visit and the orthodontist explained everything really well from the beginning. The fine tune adjustments to my smile are really appreciated. They offer payment plans too. Highly recommend.

BRO strives for excellent customer service and are thorough in their efforts providing care to our son. We were referred a couple of years ago to be evaluated for braces, have not been recommended to start them yet even though the writing is on the walls. BRO reevaluates every six months to determine a conservative and effective approach. We are very happy with this team!

Let me start by saying every single person who works in this building is pleasant. The type of pleasant you can get only from truly happy employees. This says a lot about the business as a whole. It's refreshing. I took my 12 year old son to see the folks at BRO Asheville. From a Mother's point of view, I can tell you they are amazing. They immediately make it a point to get to know their patients. They speak directly to young patients instead of just through their parent . They treat you like friends rather than just a case. They do their best to offer full understanding of treatment plans and all that comes along with. Oh!, and every single piece of furniture in the building is exceptionally comfortable. The entire space is inviting and comfortable from the minute you walk in. If you are seeking an Orthodontic consultation for yourself or your loved one, do yourself a favor and go see the super friendly, professional folks at BRO Asheville. I highly recommend.

BRO has been a wonderful place to go through my Invisalign journey with. Since day one I have only been met with kindness, attention to detail and overall quality care. When it comes to treatment, it is important to me to really be heard and BRO has only made me feel heard. It's been a long adventure (2.5 years so far), but they haven't rushed the process. Instead, they have listened to my desired finishing tweeks, consulted with my dentist and came up with a plan to make me super happy with my results. I do wish I could have seen my assigned Orthodontist more often. I have only seen them a few times throughout my process, but everyone I have interacted with has been very friendly. When I was first told I would need Orthodontics treatment, I had consultations with 3 other Orthodontists as it is a big commitment to make, but I'm super grateful I chose BRO. I would highly recommend them!

Blue Ridge orthodontics is wonderful! I would highly recommend them to anyone. I visit the Hendersonville office but I've also been to the Asheville office. both were exceptional! Everyone is courteous, kind and knowledgeable. I especially appreciate how they take time explain the steps and timelines during the process. 5 star service all the way! Our son started with traditional braces for his first phase and although we made it through it he did pop some brackets which caused extra visits to the office. We were educated about alternatives and decided to go with Invisalign for phase 2! The transition was seamless and the Invisalign have worked amazing for our 12 year old! Glad they don't have a one size fits all plan and really listen to your needs! Thanks BRO !

We love BRO! We first started going here in 2019 when my oldest son needed braces. We landed here again this year with my youngest. (My oldest needed re-treatment after not wearing his retainer and I couldn't believe it's free)Everyone in the office is super friendly and make you feel right at home. Always able to get a quick appointment for broken brackets and treatment appointments are usually quick as well. Our dentist had referred us to another orthodontist but I let them know I'd prefer BRO. They are open later then normal which helps when you're working late or have after school activities. Hands down BRO is the best!

We have had such positive experiences since my daughter started going here at 6 years old for her first consultation. The staff always makes sure she feels comfortable, which makes appointments that much easier with a nervous mom and child. I appreciate the timeliness of appointments and ease of scheduling.
