I am a 4th generation Idahoan. I have had the pleasure of working in the dental field for over 18 years. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and bike riding. My favorite food is rice and beans.
Dr. Hess has practiced dentistry in Boise since 1989. He earned his DDS from Creighton University, School of Dentistry. Dr. Hess has over 35 years of clinical experience and is particularly skilled in placement and restorative implant dentistry.
I was born and raised in Kuna, ID. I have two sons and a daughter with 5 grandchildren whom I adore! My favorite pastimes are always in the outdoors: archery hunting, snowmobiling and camping. I have been a dental assistant since I graduated from Boise State in 1979. I have a passion for helping people get the smile of their dreams!

Blue Heron is an amazing dental office, Barbara is so great at finding the best appointments that fit mine and my sons schedule! I always leave feeling great about my teeth. I believe they are a thorough and trustworthy dentist!

I can't say enough positive things about Blue Heron Dental Boise! I felt so comfortable during my appointment the entire time, they are all so friendly and nice, the location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking, and everyone is very easy to talk to. Best dental clinic I've ever been to.

If you're looking to take a nap and relax then this is the place for you! Just had 9 filling filled and I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort. Obviously my jaw is a little sore but as in pain from rough hands or accidental pokes never not once. The dentist and dental assistant had hands of Angels. Customer service is great and the front desk reception will have you feeling comfortable like family. I know I'm speaking highly of this location Im just blown away. I was a new customer but now I'm a lifer to this location.

The folks at Blue Heron Dental are wonderful. I've been going there for five years (since before Dr Bowker retired) and they're always so welcoming and kind. When the practice changed over to Blue Heron a couple years ago, the change was seamless. Barbara and Kris continue to deliver the same wonderful service and standard of care that make going to the dentist as pleasant as possible!

I love the team at Blue Heron Dental. Barbara has always been so helpful and fun to visit with on the phone and in the office. I never have to wait to be be taken back for my cleaning or procedure. I highly recommend this office for all your dental needs.

Dental care is important to my wife and I. We're glad we found Blue Heron Dental after moving here in late 2021. I just had my first appointment and I enjoyed it! Contrary to what some may feel about a trip to the dentist, my visit was very positive. Even comfortable. From the open reception area where Barbara welcomes returning patients using their first names, to the patient and gentle skills of dental hygienist Kris (I enjoyed our conversation Kris), to the smiling and very personable Dr. Randall, there is a feeling of caring. The latest technology is used. Their location is convenient. Parking is a breeze. Costs are very reasonable. If others are looking for dental care, I urge them to consider Blue Heron Dental.

I was a patient at the dental practice that preceded Blue Heron Dental and have found the transition to the Blue Heron practice to be a most comfortable transition. Barbara the long time receptionist continues to be so cheerful and helpful as does the rest of the staff. My experience with Dr. Wagner has found her to be very pleasant and thorough. I give Blue Heron and A+++

Barbara and Kris are the best. Always helpful with my appointments and care of my teeth. I've gone there for decades. Dr. Wagner and Dr. Randall are taking their practice forward with many new tools at their disposal and I appreciate their positive and friendly care.

Barbara is the BEST receptionist. She's always on the ball. The dental work is also superlative! We've been coming here for decades as a family and the new team of doctors and hygienists are professional, quick, and well-trained. They use well proven procedures and attend ongoing training to stay ahead of new tech and advances. HIGHLY recommend! I'll never go anywhere else!
