I have lived in the area most of my life, graduating from high school in Colfax. I attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree, and then completed my dental training at the University of Minnesota.
Like many professions, dentistry is always changing. To stay up to speed, I frequently attend seminars hosted by the Eau Claire chapter of the Seattle Study Club, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Dawson Center.
My wife Kris and I live near Sand Creek with our daughters Taylor and Abigail, and our son Kyle. Outside the office, if Im not coaching basketball or watching the kids play other sports, I love to chase whitetails on the family farm or elk in the Rocky Mountains, usually with a bow.
Welcome to Blue Diamond Family Dental! I joined the practice in June of 2012 and have enjoyed getting to know the community, one patient at a time. It is truly an honor to have the privilege to care for my patients who put their trust in me each and every day. I strive to establish a connection with patients and help them feel comfortable with their dental care.
I grew up on my familys farm in Tilden and graduated from Bloomer High School. I always dreamed of returning to Bloomer to provide dental care for the community. I received a Bachelors of Science degree from Winona State University with a major in Allied Health and a minor in Biochemistry. I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Marquette University.
I regularly attend continuing education courses to stay current with all of the new advancements in the dental profession. I am a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, Chippewa Valley Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club Eau Claire Chapter.
While attending Marquette University, I met my wife Madeline. She is currently a pediatric dentist practicing in the Chippewa Valley. Together, we enjoy everything about the outdoors including running, biking, hunting, and shing. We were blessed with our rst child, Owen, in September of 2015. We are beyond excited to have the opportunity to raise our family in such a loving and caring community.
I was excited to hear about the opportunity to join the Blue Diamond Family Dental team. Having lived in the Eau Claire area for the last ten years, I was aware of Blue Diamond Family Dentals excellent reputation and very much wanted to be a part of it.
After meeting the doctors and staff, their enthusiasm and honesty confirmed my decision to join the practice. I have a passion for dentistry and look forward to sharing that passion with our patients for years to come.
I attended UW Madison as an undergraduate and earned my dental degree at the University of Minnesotas dental school. I completed an additional year of training at Hennepin County Medical Center. I practiced at Scenic Bluffs Community Health Center for two years and spent the last eight years at the Marshfield Clinic.
When Im not in the office, you may find me cycling early in the morning. Ill talk fishing any day of the week. Im an avid woodworker, creating mostly furniture. I also love Wisconsin sports, whether it be the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, or Bucks. I have found it incredibly rewarding to coach soccer.

Had work done and NO ONE explained the cost of the procedures to be done beyond insurance. Had I known, it would have been SO much $$ I would have declined treatment. I asked exactly how much I could expect to pay and was told " well I'm not really sure of the exact amount" by the front desk woman, but "here would you quickly sign this form please?" How they couldn't explain the costs PRIOR to treatment is shocking and extremely upsetting. I have NEVER been given treatment without being told EXACTLY how much it would cost before agreeing to the treatment. Ever. Especially when it's in the thousands of dollars! And as an extra act of courtesy the billing woman will talk over you and become incredulous that you dared to call her out on being rude. Be sure you know exactly the dollar amount of the service you receive, and don't sign paperwork unless they take the time to go over the details or else be prepared for a shocking bill!!

Request of dental records today to be sent to another clinic and the receptionist made me feel pretty stupid for asking. Said she would do her best with my request. I am 100% not "that person" so I was never going to post this before but after my conversation today, I feel it important to let others know my issues before they decide to Have work done there. A couple years back they worked on a few broken teeth. One issue was they put in a temp filling and it fell out that night while sleeping. Then they redid it again it fell out that night as well. Had to have a tooth replaced. When they put in the new tooth it was totally the wrong color. You could actually see into the tooth and see the screw. The tooth looked rotten So they ordered another new tooth. Waited a while for that tooth, received the tooth and it was also the wrong color. Waited again a few weeks before we were finally done..
