The hygienists are true pros and Dr. Schaeffer is great to work with. He is slow to recommend procedures that other dentists might justify as urgent but are not truly medically necessary. For example: I have a crown that needs to be replaced sometime in the future, but it is still functioning well. While some dentists would like the revenue, he is OK with "kicking that can down the road" until it is truly needed. As a 51-year-old, I appreciate that the longer I put off a crown replacement, the lower the chance that it will need to be done again in this lifetime. Our family of 5 has been going there for years. Highly recommend.

Dr. Schefer is great but the practice is horribly run. Despite having great health and dental insurance, we got a bill for $250 after a routine check up. Called (after many calls and messages left) and his staff said it was just an error and we didn't owe anything. Just got the same bill a year later - called and this time his staff said it wasn't submitted to our insurance but now too much time has passed and it can't be submitted, so now we have to pay the bill. Would not recommend unfortunately unless you've got the time and money to deal with this kind of hassle.

Dr. Schaffer is absolutely amazing. I have some dentist-phobia, and his compassionate care is truly top notch. The front desk staff.. not so much. Good luck getting a call back if you leave a message, for them to answer the phone on a Friday, or for them to update you on the status of anything. My suggestion is to keep calling until you reach a person, don't leave a message, and to establish clear next steps on what is needed and who is accountable for calling back whom.

Dr. Shaeffer and his staff is great , I will not allow my family members to have their dental services anywhere else. We have been going to this dentist ever since it was open. They are like family to me , I love to come to visit.

Dr. Shaeffer is the best dentist I have ever had! I have been going to him since he opened Blue Creek Dental but I worked with him way before that! Him and his staff are so friendly and professional. They take their time to explain everything and help you understand and make you feel at ease. I moved out of state and still drive 8 hours to continue going to him! I had an emergency last year and he was able to squeeze me in and get me an emergency appointment with an endodontist too. Definitely recommend!

Although I did love the care and bedside manner, after having problems with a tooth that was "filled" by them and was told I may need a "root canal" The tooth had not been bothering me until it was "filled" at this office When I went to another dentist upon examination and xray, the Dentist pointed out to me that there was decay was surrounding the filling! I am Very disappointed that I had to actually spend double because Blue Creek did not properly fill my tooth and then spend again in order to have a cavity filled properly. So happy at least I avoided the costly expense of a unwarranted root canal Blue Creek said I needed. When I asked for copies of my xrays I was only give one side. I had another tooth that was "needing" a root canal and was expertly filled by the second dentist...per this dentist "it did not need a root canal" and he could save it. So that is TWO root canals and much pain I dodged by seeking a second opinion.

Dr. Shaffer and his staff are all stars! I have been a patient for years. Always helpful, nice, informative, non-judge mental, excellent care. They really put their patients first.

Dr Shaeffer is the jam. I have sent many friends to him over the years and they're all converts. He doesn't try to sell you stuff, never tells you you need a bunch of work you don't, does impeccable work, is extremely kind and professional, and I've only had a wait once in 12 years. I haven't experienced the admin troubles lamented by another reviewer, but TBH even if I had I'd still go to Dr Shaeffer, because he's the best.

I love Dr. Shaeffer and Blue Creek Dental. I'm in and out of cleanings (with x-rays!) in 40 minutes. The practice always runs on time. This office is the peak of efficiency and on top of that, Dr. Shaeffer is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guy. The practice was recommended to me by a coworker and I've recommended it to at least two other people by now. The wait time to get your first appointment is worth it!
