Dr. Abby Blowe, a true Tarheel, received both her undergraduate dual degrees in Psychology & Spanish, and her doctorate dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During college, she spent time studying abroad in Seville, Spain, and is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Blowe is a native of Gaston County and grew up in Bessemer City. She spends her time outside of the office at her home in Belmont, NC. She shares her love for dentistry with her husband, Jonathan. She is an active member in her church and dedicates her spare time to giving back to the community through a variety of volunteer projects. Outside of dentistry, she also enjoys reading, traveling and spending time on Lake Wylie.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society and has served as a volunteer at many of the NC Missions of Mercy clinics. She has a wide variety of experience working with small children, adults and elderly to provide the most comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Jonathan Blowe received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Blowe grew up in Clayton, North Carolina. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Abby, and their two children Jennings and Juliette. The Blowe family resides in Belmont and are so excited about opening their second office in the town they love. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Blowe enjoys spending time on Lake Wylie and traveling.
Dr. Blowe is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, Gaston County Dental Society, and volunteers at the North Carolina Missions of Mercy dental clinics. Dr. Blowe enjoys working with patients of all ages and looks forward to providing excellent dental care in Belmont.
The environment that the office has. I feel so comfortable and excited to come to work. Everyone is so friendly and helps create a laid back atmosphere, which is so important in a place that some patients are nervous to be at.
The people! I love the girls that I work with and really enjoy our patients. It makes a huge difference coming into work every day if you enjoy being around the people there. We have fun and laugh a lot. Its nice to enjoy my home away from home.
Married for over 20 years, Indira and her husband have a son and daughter. Her bucket list includes a trip to New Zealand, seeing all 50 states, and sleeping for two days! Her favorite superhero is Thor because she is a big Chris Helmsworth fan.
Caitlyn has worked with Blowe Family Dentistry for 1 and a half years now. She is excited to bring what she learned from our Mount Holly location to Belmont. Caitlyn received her education from Catawba Valley.
Elizabeth has worked at the Belmont location since December 2016 but has worked with Dr. Jonathan Blowe since 2011 at previous practices as his Dental Assistant II. Her favorite part of working at Blowe Family Dentistry are her patients, coworkers, and Drs. Jonathan and Abby Blowe because they are awesome dentists.

Dr. Blowe got me in the same day to extract a painful broken tooth and she was fantastic and gentle and always made sure I was ok. Now today I'm back again because last night while I was asleep another one broke so I called this morning and they got me in today! The whole staff is friendly, helpful and really makes you feel at ease! I highly recommend Blowe Family Dentistry!

I've had two crowns done here in the last 2-3 years. She is very pleasant and professional. Both crowns were done in 1 visit. (3 hours) I highly recommend her for all your dental needs

Extremely expensive, rude staff. When I was treated, it felt rushed and she said she had to add more to the price DURING the work. I had concerns, called several times and left message asking for adjustments because my tooth was hurting from hitting. Got no response. Then after visiting another dentist who fixed the issue, they sent a bill. Because they neglected to file the insurance for three months. Take your money elsewhere or get ripped off here like I did.

Everyone is really nice but I had two fillings done that kept bothering me and the doctor just said that's how it is basically. I've had to go to another dentist and have them all redone!

The work is not done well, and insurance was charged incorrectly, and my bill was incorrect. Huge turnover on staff and the doctor discusses staff relations with clients. Examples are telling that he's fired the office to start fresh. Stay away and find someone that actually wants to work and appreciates the business.

Terrible customer service! The girl at the Belmont office Mandy laughed at me while on the phone trying to explain my situation! greedy! I missed an appointment for fillings back in December and before I could be scheduled again I had to pay a $220 missed appointment fee! The total cost of my fillings was $218...why would you charge so much for a missed appointment! That's crazy! I've heard of $25 or even $50 but to pay more for a missed appointment than the actual cost of services is ridiculous! Only reason for 1 star is it won't let you give less than that!

Dr. Blowe was nothing short of AMAZING. I was researching some good dentists in and around the Mt. Holly area, luckily I found Dr. Blowe. She is very pleasant, listens to your concerns and explains thoroughly about the procedure. She had to fix some old work I had done. It was a mostly painless procedure and once the anesthesia was gone it felt like I had no issues at all. Her assistant was fantastic as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Blowe to anyone looking for a professional dentist.

Awesome office ...The office is nice , clean and the employees are highly professional and great to work with , they make you feel welcomed and comfortable the whole time you are present in the office. Dr Blowe is one of a kind! Top notch Dentist! As soon as you walk in Bonnie is welcoming you with a bright smile! The assistants, Brandi and Amber make your visit so warm and comfortable. As you are leaving Traci scheduled my next appointments and answered any questions I had about my next cleaning appointment with Erin! I highly recommend this office! You will not be disappointed!

It's no wonder people say that this dentist finds things that others don't. The technology that this office has is WAY better than I even knew existed. I've never been so impressed with an office. My experience was AMAZING

Awful place. Firstly, we (meaning me, my sister, and mother) were lied to about cavities. I was told I had 12 and then 6 reported at another dentist office. Then, my sister had 5 here, then 0 at the other. Then my mom got a "cavity" filled which wasn't even a cavity. She's having to take 10 Advil's a day because they drilled a surface cavity too deep into her nerves. When I was told I had 12 cavities, they yelled at me and they weren't one bit of encouraging. They said I had to get dentures, which was a lie.

On July 24, 2018, Dr. Blowe took impressions for tooth T and L space maintainer for my 6 year old son. On 7/31/18, she filled 4 cavities on tooth J/ A/ B and I which he tolerated well under local anesthesia. On 8/2/18, her plan of care included fillings for tooth: K/ S/M in addition to an extraction of tooth T and LL, all advised under local anesthesia despite my calling several times and asking for moderate sedation. He did not tolerate this well at all, in fact it was incredibly traumatic for him and myself, as he felt the injections more than he had in the past and at least once, she injected him after telling him he would receive further injections. After using more force than I would ever like to see, she extracted tooth T, leaving him screaming and hysterical, diaphoretic and in my arms. I told her at that time that he would not be getting any more work completed with her. She called after the visit as I left to try and console him and I told her then that it was the most traumatic experience he had ever been through and we would not be returning. She continues to charge me for the space maintainer for tooth L that she did not extract. In fact, this tooth has since been extracted with Dr. Carson Rutledge at Belmont Pediatric Dentistry and he was completely comfortable under moderate sedation/inhaled NO. The care he received by Dr. Abby Blowe violated the ethical principles of non-maleficence and beneficence in addition to be charged for uncompleted treatment. I would highly advise you not receive dental care from Blowe Family Dentistry in Mt. Holly.
