He continued his education at Indiana University, where he received his B.S. in 2000. After working for a year, Josh enrolled in dental school and received his dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2005.

Dr. Mary Seelye Parker grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She attended DePauw Univeristy in Greencastle, IN where she ran cross country and track. She received her BA in Biology in 1998. Dr Parker worked for the Indiana University School of Medicine doing medical research in the infectious disease department for several years before deciding to attend dental school. She graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2005. In 2008 she married Dr. Joshua Howder. They have two boys, Ben and Will. Dr. Parker enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and attending I.U. sporting events.
Dr. Joshua Howder opened Bloomington Dental Group in March 2006. In June 2014, his wife, Dr. Mary Seelye Parker, merged her practice with Bloomington Dental Group. This husband and wife dental team cares for patients of all ages and manages everything from CEREC same-day restorations to cleanings and exams.

My first dental appointment was last week and my experience was great! the receptionist was nice and helpful and the hygienist and Dr. Parker we're kind, patient, and attentive to all my questions and concerns.

I love coming here for my oral health care! The staff is always friendly and helpful! I love Kenia, she does a great job cleaning my teeth and is interested in what's happening in my life! 12 years I've been a patient here and never disappointed!

I went there for dental cleaning, the front desk staff checked my insurance plan and told me I didn't have to pay for it. But after a few weeks later we got a bill, we called the clinic and the staff said "I said you didn't have to pay at this moment ". And they refer us to the insurance company. However, I believe this is the staff's fault.

I was told that the service is covered under my insurance and I don't need to pay anything. However, they sent me a $150 bill afterwards. When's called and confronted them about it, they told me that yes, we told you that you don't need to pay now!! But you have to pay us. Avoid this place if you don't want surprise bills.

Great staff. Always pre-quote dental work so you know exactly how much you're paying, excellent education to patient on pre and post care, thorough, thoughtful, never rushed. Dental hygienist equally as talented. Great practice, highly recommended.

I hadn't been to a dentist in 10+ years. I needed a tooth extraction and they found the best oral surgeon for me to get it removed same day! Cut to a few months later and I am getting my first fillings in 34 years and I always thought it was a terrible experience but they were informative and very personable and honestly it wasn't bad at all. Friendly and just all around great place.

They are seriously the best. From the reception personel to the hygenist to the doctors they truly are amazing. Had some really bad dentists when I was little, been going here for years and never had an issue. They don't hurt me when working on my teeth which is very important to me. If you want your dental needs to be addressed in an effective way this is the place to go in Bloomington, I am convinced after having been a patient at multiple places in this town over the years. Prices are reasonable and they have tvs in the chairs. Pretty cool!

They are hands down the most compassionate, thoughtful, intentional, gentle dentist and dental care professionals I've ever encountered. I recommend them to everyone. They also helped me find the Delta Dental Discount program because I don't have dental insurance. I couldn't have afforded the care I needed without that help.

I have had issues with going to the dentist my whole life. Most of those issues are chalked up to me not making myself go and poor examples in my childhood. However, when I tell you that Bloomington Dental Group is the first office I've returned to in the 10+ years that I've been driving myself to my appointments, I'm not exaggerating one bit. My visits to other dentist offices, sporadic as they were, never once led to a follow up appointment. I expected the same when I showed up to my appointment with Dr. Howder. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I looked forward to my return visit. Even though he told me I needed TWO root canals (which I also did and STILL show up to my follow up appointments). I've only ever been a patient to Dr. Howder at this office, but the atmosphere is so friendly and accepting there that Dr. Parker (someone who has never seen me as their own patient) stopped in to check on me during one of my appointments. Take it from me, someone who didn't go to the dentist like they should have, stop wasting your time. Make your first appointment with them and see for yourself. I now go to the dentist like I should. And I don't plan on that changing.
